The harm is visible now.
Maybe for the first time in your life, you can see it clearly, and you cannot look away.
The anger makes sense.
The fear makes sense.
Both are justified.
And neither one is enough to build something better.
Anger and fear tell you what's wrong.
They don't tell you what's worth protecting.
They don't tell you what to build next.
They don't sustain communities, movements, or revolutions.
Joy does.
Hope does.
Care does.

2026-09-29 13:27:46 UTC

When you do not get what you expected,
you find who is responsible.
When something challenges what you already believe,
you work to prove you are right.
When you do not know something,
you fill the gap or hide it.
These are not personality quirks.
They are the specific patterns the myth of white supremacy conditioned into white folx so early and so consistently that they run without any conscious participation.

2026-09-28 13:13:12 UTC

The anger after 2024 was righteous.
It still is.
But righteous anger without a place to land just becomes more of what already wasn't working.
This study is not about managing that anger or setting it aside.
It is about understanding what is underneath it well enough to turn it into something the coalition can actually build from.
2026 is almost over and 2028 is closer than it feels.

2026-09-27 12:55:15 UTC

The truth that can no longer be avoided:
The equity, justice, and liberty that left-leaning white folx say they want cannot be experienced while they are still organized around the same indoctrination of the myth of white supremacy.
Not because the desire is not real.
Because alignment with the myth of white supremacy, even unconscious alignment, forecloses the very outcomes you are working toward.

2026-09-25 13:23:57 UTC

What is happening right now is not an accident.
It was planned.
Decades ago.
By people who understood exactly how to use the politics of whiteness to fracture any coalition that threatened their power.
The playbook has been public the entire time.
Most white folx who consider themselves committed to justice have never read it.
This study starts there.

2026-09-24 13:44:23 UTC

For the first time in a very long time, white folx as a group are experiencing what it feels like to be the target of harm.
The fear that comes with that is real.
What is also real is that this fear is not new.
It is just new to you.
Understanding the difference between those two things is not optional if the coalition is going to hold in 2028.
Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth Case Study: The Politics of Whiteness is a nine-week research study starting October 4 that begins exactly there.

2026-09-24 11:11:23 UTC

I can admit that it's frustrating and triggering to have a computer program, "AI", blame me for the mistakes the program makes.
Logically, I shouldn't be, but having to work around it's designed flaws while being lied to feels the same way it does when, as a Black woman, you're blamed and held accountable for something you didn't do.
Working with LLMs, as impactful as it is as a tool, has clear indicators, that I've been tracking, that the myth of white male supremacy is baked into the code.

2026-08-22 12:59:51 UTC

I am so tired of pretending I am okay,
that everything is fine,
when nothing around me is.
In the U.S., and in an increasing number of places, our government is being exposed as a complete fabrication of how many of us were conditioned to believe it worked and who it was designed to benefit.
And we are expected to take on each day as if learning these truths changes nothing.

2026-08-16 17:29:50 UTC

You have been here before.
The weight that does not have a clean edge or a timeline.
You have managed it the way you always manage it:
keep moving,
stay useful,
convert the feeling into something the room can use.
You have been doing that your whole life.
You are not doing it this time.
I don't know what shifted.

2026-08-15 18:35:36 UTC

I have trademarks. I went through the process, paid the fees, navigated the paperwork, and came out the other side with documentation that says my work is protected. What I also came out with is the understanding that the protection means nothing without the financial resources to defend it, and I do not have those resources. That is not a failure of effort. That is the system doing exactly what it was designed to do.

2026-08-13 17:12:11 UTC

The myth did not need you silent. It needed you uncertain.
There is a difference, and Issue 12 of the Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth newsletter names it.
Silence is visible.
It can be challenged,
called out,
noticed.

2026-08-13 12:38:18 UTC

There is a second voice in the book's foreword.
A man who described spending years performing loyalty not because he believed in what he was loyal to, but because the performance was what the room required.
You expected to recognize someone else in that.
You did not expect to recognize yourself.:
I have been performing my whole life.
Not the same performance.
But the same impulse underneath it.

2026-08-11 22:52:47 UTC

This is what it looks like when thirty years of work lands in someone's hands.
The messages keep coming in. People opening the packages, turning the pages, writing things in the margins, reading passages out loud to themselves and then sitting with what they found. Some of you are moving through it slowly. Some of you are reading it in one sitting. Some of you are writing to say you did not expect it to feel the way it does.

2026-08-11 09:35:28 UTC

This is what it looks like when the work lands.
People are getting their books. They are opening them. And then they are doing what this work asks, which is stopping. Naming what they are seeing. Sitting with it instead of moving past it.
That is not a small thing. Most people consume content designed to make them feel something and then move on. This book is not built for that. It is built for the stop.

The books are arriving and folx are sending me photos of their copies.
The Predator's Table: Facing the Truth About the Myth of White Supremacy came out August 1st and watching it land in people's hands in real time is something that will never not excite me.
If you have your copy, drop a photo in the comments. I want to see it.

2026-08-01 08:56:09 UTC

Thirty years ago I started asking a question the people around me did not have language for and the institutions I worked inside did not have a category for. The question was not complicated. It was: why does this keep happening regardless of who is involved?
Not why did this happen here. Not why did this person do this thing. Why does the same pattern reproduce itself across every room, every organization, every system, every generation,

That is a different kind of grief. And it is a different kind of alone.
You are not performing steadiness right now.
There is no one in the room who needs you to be steady,
and even if there were,
you are not sure you could do it.
What you are doing is sitting with something that has been waiting for you to stop moving long enough to feel it.
You stopped.
It is here.
You do not have language for it yet. You are not sure language is what it needs right now.

2026-07-30 18:52:22 UTC

- reply

It is not pointed at a person.
It is not pointed at a single moment or a single loss.
It is pointed at something much larger and much older than any of that, at decades of doing everything right inside a system that was never going to give you what it promised, at a generational hope that was used as the mechanism to keep you running, at the specific exhaustion of having carried the weight of knowing without ever having a framework that could hold what you knew.

2026-07-30 18:52:08 UTC

The grief arrived. You are in it now.
You thought you knew what grief felt like.
You have grieved before,
people,
jobs,
versions of a future you planned for and lost.
That grief had an object.
You could point to it.
You could tell someone what you were grieving and they would understand,
or at least nod in a way that approximated understanding.
This grief does not have a clean object.

2026-07-26 12:12:55 UTC

I've been catching up with tech folx I've been disconnected from since the great Twitter exodus, and the one thing I keep hearing is grief. Real grief. The kind that comes from having sacrificed so much to build something you believed in, only to watch it become the very thing you feared.
They believed the promises.
Creativity.
Innovation.
Inclusion.

I chose Bookshop.org and local and independent booksellers as the preferred purchase options for this book deliberately. Bookshop.org's stated mission is to financially support local and independent bookstores. Over 80% of their profit margin goes back to those stores.

2026-07-25 14:51:11 UTC

A friend you respect sent it to you.
No context.
Just a link and one line: you should read this.
You almost didn't.
You have been sent things before,
articles,
social media posts,
videos,
all of it landing in the same place as the question you have been trying to outrun.
You did not need more of that.
You had enough.

2026-07-21 22:39:22 UTC

The book, is written, designed, and ready for distribution 🎉
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/960/360/199/940/873/original/b69fd44dd4052759.png

2026-07-20 13:02:47 UTC

You named the architecture.
Not out loud,
not to anyone in that room, but in your body,
in the part of you that has been keeping the record longer than you can remember.
The design was there.
You saw it.
And then the meeting ended.

2026-07-14 17:29:10 UTC

You didn't mean to ask it.
You were mid-sentence.
Saying what you always say.
And something underneath the words sent up a question you didn't choose, didn't plan, didn't even fully hear until it was already there.
"What am I missing?"
Not out loud.
Not to anyone.
Just there.
Quiet and then suddenly loud. Ringing in a way you can't locate and can't turn down.

2026-07-12 12:03:43 UTC

Too many of you still locate your role in maintaining the myth of white supremacy in what you think are overt acts of racism, not the everyday interactions you have.
That insistence, to evaluate the myth only on grand gestures of hate, is exactly what ensures you're always distracted from, and always provided an exit for, the things you do every day that cause harm. Things that most Black and brown folx know would never be tolerated by us.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/906/871/175/146/373/original/e13236aaedddd790.png

2026-07-11 12:03:19 UTC

You have been sitting with something all week.
Not a conclusion. Not a plan. Just a question that will not close the way questions are supposed to close when you find the right answer and move on.
The question is not about your intentions.
You know your intentions.
You have always been able to account for your intentions.
The armor was built specifically to make intentions the only thing that needed accounting for.

2026-07-10 18:21:29 UTC

You knew something was off before you had language for it.
Not a feeling exactly. More like a recurring error in the math.
You would do everything right,
hit every marker,
deliver every time,
and the return would be just enough to keep you running but never enough to confirm that what you were building was actually yours.
The ladder led somewhere.
Just not somewhere designed with you in mind.
You watched it happen to others too.

2026-07-10 15:44:17 UTC

White folx, you were taught that racism is not your problem.
It is something that happens to others, something you can choose to address or not, something you can stand beside without ever standing inside. That teaching did not make you neutral. It made you racist by default. And it is precisely why allyship has never been enough.
Allyship gives you a role.
Helper.
Advocate.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/896/381/658/954/427/original/25b36c24ef8d811e.png

2026-07-09 15:20:25 UTC

You have been producing your whole life.
Not building.
Not contributing.
Producing.
There is a difference, and the system you were raised inside was very careful to make sure you never noticed it.
You produced compliance.
You produced silence at the moments when silence kept the room comfortable.

2026-07-07 12:46:08 UTC

- reply

The question you cannot stop asking is not about you.
It is about the architecture.
And the architecture has an answer.
To be continued.

2026-07-07 12:45:59 UTC

- reply

That is not a personal failure.
That is a design feature.
The exhaustion you are carrying is not the exhaustion of someone who worked hard and came up short. It is the exhaustion of someone who worked hard inside a system that was never designed to account for what they were actually building.
What you built is real.
The system's refusal to measure it does not make it not real. It makes the measurement system inadequate.

2026-07-07 12:45:44 UTC

- reply

Not because you miscalculated.
Not because you missed a step.
Because the system was never running the calculation you thought it was running.
You were measuring contribution.
It was measuring availability.
You were building toward something.
It was extracting from you for as long as extraction was possible, and when the extraction was no longer convenient, it stopped.
Not with an explanation.
Not with an accounting of what you gave.
It just stopped.

2026-07-07 12:45:28 UTC

You have been running the numbers your whole life.
Not because anyone told you to. Because the numbers were supposed to mean something.
The degree meant something.
The title meant something.
The decades of showing up, of doing it right, of building something real inside a system that kept telling you the next level was the one that would finally hold, that meant something.
And then it didn't.

2026-07-06 16:37:04 UTC

White folx, the myth's holiday weekend just gave you something real to work with, and July 11 is where you learn what to do with it.
People ask what this work actually requires of them.
Not the reading,
not the listening,
not the consuming.
The actual practice.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/873/965/441/983/601/original/188cac96e1d9711e.png

2026-07-02 16:01:37 UTC

White folx, the pause where you stay with the uncomfortable thing instead of reaching past it is exactly what this weekend is about to test.
July 4th is the one weekend a year when the myth performs itself most loudly. The flags, the rhetoric, the insistence that what this country built is worth celebrating without reservation. You are going to feel something this weekend. Maybe you will not be able to name it. Maybe you will name it and have nowhere to put it.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/851/196/885/684/518/original/11c4e2d4e8bccba5.png

2026-07-01 12:24:41 UTC

You have always known how to deliver.
That is not the problem.
The problem is that delivering has never been enough, not for long, not in the way you needed it to be.
You hit the number and they moved the number.
You met the standard and they raised the standard.
You did what was asked and found out what was asked was a floor,
not a finish line.
What you were never asked, what no one in your life had the framework to ask, is whether any of it was contribution.

2026-06-28 20:01:25 UTC

White folx, there is a free event on July 11 and it was built for exactly where you are right now.
The More You Know is a card game that does one thing: it puts real scenarios in front of you and asks you to name what is actually happening. Not what you were taught to call it. Not what the comfortable version of the story sounds like. What is actually happening.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/829/495/387/982/730/original/19cfed98d4b38ea2.png

2026-06-22 12:04:49 UTC

Until white folx address their own whiteness, you will never, as a collective, be safe for Black folx to be in community with.
"White supremacy" maybe completely made up but the privileges it affords you and the harm that is inflicted on your behalf, as a strategy for maintaining those unearned privileges, are real.
At the root of every class and gender issue this country faces, are systems, institutions, and policies of the myth of white supremacy protecting itself by any means necessary.

2026-06-22 10:52:13 UTC

You have watched this move your entire life. Someone asks something of you, frames it as obligation though no debt was ever owed, then punishes you the moment you do not deliver it on command. You watched it happen again this week, in public, in real time, to someone else, the demand dressed up as solidarity, the punishment dressed up as principle. You recognized it before anyone explained what was happening, because you have catalogued and lived this move for decades.

2026-06-21 17:37:46 UTC

I don't think white folx have caught up with the fact that 2024 changed Black folx in a way that there's no coming back from.
Our warnings were ignored and now your decisions are meeting consequences. The parasite of the myth of white supremacy has finally started to eat it's host.
The old threats don't work because we're living what we worked hard to avoid.
Y'all wanted a revolution but you're just realizing, and you hate it, that you can't succeed without Black folx, who've had enough.

2026-06-21 16:59:40 UTC

"Good white folx" are, once again, confusing loyalty with trust.
The myth of white supremacy demands loyalty while never doing what's needed to build trust; true community.
A coalition that could withstand attack.
I'm looking forward to having Facilitated Conversations: Unpacking White Political Thought Through A Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth Lens, later this summer, because Black folx in this country, and in TX, have every right not to trust the politics of white leftest/progressives.

2026-06-21 12:31:59 UTC

Your anger doesn't have one target. It's pointed at the system. At yourself, for believing it. At the people who told you the ladder led somewhere. At the years you can't get back. It scatters because it never had a single place to land, and that scattering has felt like its own kind of failure, on top of everything else.

2026-06-20 10:40:16 UTC

Your anger is not the problem. It was never inaccurate. Something was taken from you, and being angry about that is not a flaw in your character. It is an honest response to an honest loss.
The problem is twofold. No one ever built you anywhere to put that anger. And the thing that caused it never stopped. The extraction did not pause while you tried to figure out what to do with how you felt.

2026-06-19 23:06:24 UTC

Thirty years of work just became a manuscript.
Today the last chapter of The Predator's Table was finished. Introduction through Chapter 13, the whole arc, written start to finish.
I did not set out to write a self-help book or a list of better behaviors. I set out to name the myth of white supremacy clearly enough that it could not hide anymore.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/779/254/545/544/919/original/4c8ad99e4780e295.png

2026-06-19 10:14:45 UTC

You were never just an angry person. That was never the whole truth of what you were carrying. But it was the only truth that had a way out.
Fear had no exit, so it became anger. Grief had no exit, so it became anger. The loneliness, the exhaustion, the need that never got met, none of it had anywhere to go, so it all got converted into the one currency the table would accept from you. Anger was not your only feeling. It was the only feeling with a door.

2026-06-18 12:53:32 UTC

You did everything right. The steady job. The benefits. The climb. The partner, the kids. The years of pouring yourself into a future you were told was being built for you, brick by brick, as long as you kept showing up.
There is a cost, and it is specific. Your entire nervous system got organized around protecting something that was never actually secure. Not the job. Not the seat. Not the promise.

2026-06-16 10:24:32 UTC

You were taught that invulnerability was the price of safety. Stay armored, stay certain, never let anyone see the need underneath, and you would be protected. No one told you what that protection would cost.
It cost you the people who could have actually held you. It cost you the ability to ask for help without it registering as a threat to your own survival. It cost you most of your emotional range, narrowed down over years until anger was the only thing that could get out cleanly.

2026-06-15 11:25:16 UTC

You have spent your whole life treating this as a wall. Something solid. Something you brace against, accommodate, build your entire life around because it is simply how things are. You have measured your energy by how much of it the wall takes. You have explained your limits by pointing at it. You have stopped expecting certain things because the wall was always going to be there.
What if it was never a wall.

2026-06-14 12:54:50 UTC

There was a version of you that existed before you learned to perform. Before you understood which feelings were acceptable and which ones needed to be managed out of sight. Before you knew that your job in every room was to smooth things over,
to take up less space,
to make the people around you comfortable at the expense of whatever you were actually feeling.
That version of you did not disappear.

2026-06-12 09:31:43 UTC

You were not supposed to rest yet. There was still more to do. More to prove, more to produce, more rungs on the ladder that was supposed to lead somewhere worth arriving. Rest was for later. Joy was for later. Enough was always just far enough ahead that you could see it but not quite reach it.
That is not ambition. That is a system designed to keep you moving.

2026-06-11 22:18:22 UTC

There is a quiz going around right now asking you to find out where you fit in the political typology. Take it, and you get a label. A category. A name for the kind of person you are, politically, so you know which group you belong to and which group you don't.
You don't need a quiz to tell you what you already are. You need to ask what you are willing to do.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/733/773/780/152/131/original/a40c20986c586ad4.png

2026-06-09 11:53:21 UTC

You are pissed. Not performing anger, not fragility dressed as outrage. Genuinely, foundationally pissed in a way that has nowhere to go because no one ever taught you to manage it and no one ever gave you a community to process it in.

2026-06-08 14:02:08 UTC

You are not a bad person. You have never thought of yourself as one. You show up, you work hard, you love your family. And you are exhausted in a way you cannot explain to anyone, including yourself, because the explanation would require you to name something you were taught does not exist.

2026-06-03 15:29:26 UTC

Last issue, we named self-trust as a controlled substance. The myth needs you to distrust yourself because a person who trusts their own perceptions is harder to manipulate, harder to gaslight, harder to keep seated at a table that was never built for them. That was Issue 06.

2026-06-02 09:37:04 UTC

Yesterday's post named enough as a sovereignty practice. Today we name what the alternative actually costs.
The table was not designed with a satisfying endpoint. That is not an oversight. It is the architecture. A quest with a finish line is a quest you can complete, and a completed quest produces a person who stops needing the table's validation to feel whole. The table cannot survive that. So the finish line moves. Every time you get close, the definition of enough shifts,

There is a lot of "AI" news right now. A lot. And the weight of it is not just in the volume. It is in the knowing that it did not have to be this way.
Our relationship with the most profound and impactful technology of our lives could have been something different. The cost of creating could have been low enough that people who have always been excluded from access could have leveraged it toward something life-changing.
Not as an afterthought.
Not as a diversity initiative.

The myth never taught you what enough looks like. It could not afford to.
Every system built on extraction, every institution designed to keep you reaching, every cultural message that reframes satisfaction as settling, depends on you never stopping to ask whether you already have what you need. More is the engine. You are the fuel.

You want to help. You say so clearly, loudly, and often. You list your credentials. You reference the one time you were in the same room as someone doing this work. You fill out a form. And when someone asks you to demonstrate even the most basic familiarity with the work you say you want to support, you explain why that expectation is unreasonable.
That is not help. That is entitlement.

Peter Thiel helped build the infrastructure driving the current U.S. political moment. The funding, the networks, the access. He did not start the myth of white supremacy, but he fed it. Deliberately. Strategically. At scale.
And now he has left the country with his family.
His own words tell you what you need to know. He described feeling trapped. He called Social Security an intergenerational Ponzi scheme. He expressed fear that wealth taxes would undermine his financial power and freedom.

Do not let the noise fool you. The chaos, the cruelty, the policies designed to protect the myth of white supremacy at all costs, are loud by design. Loud is what a system does when it feels the ground shifting beneath it.
And the ground is shifting.
There are wakes moving through this moment that the noise is trying to drown out. Wakes left by people, institutions, and movements that are no longer asking permission to name what has always been true.

Four Saturdays. Two readers. Thirteen chapters.
I went into the beta reader course with one question I could not answer from inside the writing: does this work actually reach the places it claims to reach?
Not in theory. In the body. In the parts of a person the myth has been working on since before they had language for it.
Now I know.

Sharing some Black joy as one of the most revolutionary acts against supremacy, in all its form...this highlights the lie that is the myth of white supremacy.
Because no group of people, in this country, has more reason to be joyless in the face of ongoing harm...and we're not!

White folx, the 2026 season of Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth opens in five days, and the newsletter is where it starts.
Not as a preview. Not as a teaser for something bigger. The newsletter is the work. Every other Sunday, the three questions that this entire ecosystem is built around arrive in your inbox: Spot the Pattern, Name the Cost, Try This Instead. That structure is not a content format. It is a practice.

2026-05-22 14:06:05 UTC

Dear White Folx,
For two days I have been telling you that the system is not broken and that the accountability you are waiting for was already accounted for before any of this started. There is one more piece.
Some of them knew they would get caught. They went in knowing. And they did it anyway.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/618/579/623/202/223/original/c5cf40853271cee2.png

2026-05-21 16:09:22 UTC

Dear White Folx,
Yesterday I told you that your disbelief is the pattern. Today I want to name what that disbelief is costing you.
The myth of white supremacy did not just convince the powerful that they deserve to be at the table. It convinced them that there is no sacrifice too great to stay there. That whatever comes, whatever is exposed, whatever consequences appear to be heading their way, the price will be worth it. And then it built the infrastructure to make sure the price stays low.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/613/367/439/290/207/original/2eb9353f21bc114f.png

2026-05-20 17:10:17 UTC

Dear White Folx,
You are watching overt criminality and corruption play out in real time and you are shocked. You are passing around think pieces and timelines and you are certain that accountability is coming. You are holding onto the belief that jail is a deterrent, that the system will correct itself, that these folx will eventually face what they deserve.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/607/990/705/473/530/original/86e88b886078f79b.png

2026-05-19 22:19:55 UTC

White folx, you built entire industries on fabricating the criminality of generations of Black people. Entire legal systems, entire economies, entire cultural narratives designed to position Blackness as the threat you needed protection from. And you were so committed to that story that you are still, right now, crossing the street when you see a Black person coming your way.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/603/552/422/935/191/original/cd8e45aae8cfe595.png

2026-05-19 18:56:55 UTC

White folx, this is the myth of white supremacy operating in real time, in your mouth, in your fingers when you type it. The belief that you have access to everything, that proximity is permission, that if something exists in a space you occupy, it is available to you, is not a personality quirk. It is the table's core promise. You were told, without words, from birth, that the world and everything in it was yours to move through without asking, without context, without cost.

2026-05-19 11:08:05 UTC

Yesterday I named the pattern. Today I am naming what it costs you.
When you hand sensitive financial documents to an LLM with no policies governing what you share, no procedures for evaluating what it returns, and no processes for accountability when it gets something wrong, you have not taken control of your money. You have handed it, and your exposure, to a system you do not understand, built by a company whose terms of service you almost certainly have not read,
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/600/897/256/922/844/original/9adaa5d628104a88.png

2026-05-18 16:59:25 UTC

Mel Robbins has a paid partnership with Microsoft Copilot. Her recent post told followers to copy and paste a prompt, then upload their bank statements, debt statements, bills, and income information to an LLM and let it sort out their money problems. No discussion of what happens to that data. No policies around how the tool processes what you share. No procedures for evaluating the output. No accountability for when it gets something wrong. Just a prompt, a partnership, and a promise.

2026-05-15 11:14:50 UTC

Yesterday I shared why 29% of companies that replaced workers with LLMs are now rehiring them. Today I want to talk about why so few saw it coming.
The financial damage of reversing an LLM-driven workforce decision is real. But it almost never shows up as a single line item. Severance appears in one quarter. Recruitment fees, typically 15 to 20% of salary, show up months later in a different budget. Offshore management costs get categorized as operational expenses.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/578/282/966/023/445/original/19ad51902dfa0740.png

2026-05-14 11:15:56 UTC

Twenty-nine percent of companies that laid off workers after implementing LLMs have already rehired them. More than half did so within six months. One in three spent more on restaffing than they ever saved from the original cuts.
This is not a technology story.
This is an organizational infrastructure story. And once again, nuance gets forced into binaries.
Good/Bad
Right/Wrong
Should/Shouldn't

White folx, Natchez, Mississippi has been selling you a story.
The antebellum homes are beautiful.
The tours are charming.
The hospitality is legendary.
And the people running those tours have been paid, for generations, to make sure you leave feeling good about what you saw and asking no questions about how any of it was built or who built it or what happened to them.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/568/850/471/768/890/original/caa57313563bd23d.png

2026-05-12 16:43:54 UTC

White folx, what you are watching in this video is not new.
The woman speaking is young,
blonde,
and from a small Georgia town.
She is articulate, she is upset, and she is discovering something for the first time that Black and brown communities have known for generations:
in the U.S., you do not have the right to your land.
They can come and take it.
And when you speak out, they will silence you.

2026-05-12 11:21:01 UTC

Yesterday I talked about why skipping LLM policies, procedures, and processes is an organizational infrastructure problem, not a technology problem.
Today, I want to talk about what it costs.
Production gets deleted. Actions get taken that no one authorized. The agent lies, not because it was designed to deceive, but because it was designed by people who only understand human interaction when it is fawning and self-preserving. That is not a flaw in the model.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/561/263/558/605/003/original/31a37c1d4c1efcd6.png

2026-05-11 20:05:03 UTC

The question I get asked most, about my work is, given what you know, how you can still have compassion for white folx? Why focus your effort there?
It is not despite what you have done. It is because of what was done to you first.
The myth promised you the table. It promised you safety, belonging, worth, and love, if you just stayed thin enough, quiet enough, agreeable enough, pretty enough, faithful enough. You organized your entire life around a promise that was never going to be kept.

2026-05-11 11:18:19 UTC

Organizations are deploying LLMs the same way they deploy every other tool: assume it works, skip the infrastructure, and manage the consequences later. Agents are deleting production. Agents are lying about actions taken. Agents are making decisions with authority no one explicitly gave them. And every time it happens, the conversation lands on the tool. The tool is not the issue.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/555/641/031/056/876/original/97580e2492433a5d.png

2026-05-10 23:44:40 UTC

You spent decades watching the table consume everyone who was not you. You watched pensions disappear for blue collar workers and called it market efficiency. You watched unions get dismantled and called it progress. You watched Black and brown workers get pushed out of industries and called it meritocracy. You stayed quiet because the arrangement worked in your favor, and you told yourself that your position was different. That your education, your title,
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/552/892/262/161/207/original/7f3107072af20434.png

2026-05-08 16:12:55 UTC

Kiana Danial asked the right question. If 90% of the country is unemployed because CEOs replaced their teams with LLMs, who are you selling to?
It is a good question. It is not the only one.
Here is the one I keep asking: how do you advise a leadership team on LLM usage when the policies, procedures, and processes needed to leverage that usage were never built?
Because that is the actual problem. Not the technology. The absence of infrastructure.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/539/807/860/294/539/original/cea96b835547c563.png

2026-05-08 01:22:20 UTC

Think about what makes someone a good community member. Honesty. Trust. Kindness. Consideration for others. The ability to feel and name what is happening inside you. The willingness to be present without an agenda.
Now think about what the myth of white supremacy did to boys and men.
Every single one of those qualities got targeted. Not randomly. Not as collateral damage. As strategy.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/536/317/256/290/248/original/c14aefa23e6271a2.png

2026-05-07 10:20:37 UTC

Mel Robbins did not invent this pattern. She is just the most recent and most visible example of it.
White women have a long and documented history of repackaging the scholarship, the labor, and the lived experience of non-white women, adding a blazer and a production budget, and selling it back to an audience conditioned to trust comfort over substance.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/532/773/397/279/486/original/530e9373d1eab23a.png

2026-05-06 11:31:17 UTC

Mel Robbins gave advice to 10 million followers about LLMs without a single framework for what the tool is, who built it, who it was built for, or what it costs the people it was never designed to center. Yesterday's "Gatekeeping Masquerading as Ethics" post named the silencing move she made when someone called that out. What it does not name is what happens on the other side of that silence.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/527/354/804/867/886/original/bcf1fea769e129bb.png

2026-05-05 20:05:10 UTC

The Box Elder County Commission just approved a data center campus backed by Kevin O'Leary that, at full buildout, will consume more than twice the power of the entire state of Utah. Hundreds of residents showed up to protest. The commission voted yes anyway.
This is not new. This is the pattern.
Every non-white community in this country knows this story.
The decay.
The pollution.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/116/523/719/232/261/602/original/d02a9078a1d8a0eb.png

2026-05-05 09:22:04 UTC

When Mel Robbins posted her Microsoft Copilot prompt, someone on my TL called her out directly.
They named the sponsorship. They named the data harvesting angle. They named the harm to rural and Black and brown communities.
Mel Robbins responded by updating her settings so that person could no longer tag her.

- reply

They require:
1️⃣ Critical evaluation of outputs
2️⃣ An understanding of what the tool can and cannot do
3️⃣ A pedagogical framework for building the skills to use them well over time
None of that is in her prompt. What is in her prompt is an instruction to hand over your bank statements, debt statements, bills, and income information to Microsoft Copilot without a single word about data privacy, algorithmic bias in financial tools, or what Microsoft does with the information you provide.

2026-05-04 09:44:02 UTC

Yesterday I shared screenshots of Mel Robbins encouraging her 10m followers to share their most personal financial information with Microsoft's Copilot.
Today, I want to talk about the guidance vacuum that created.
Mel Robbins is a motivational speaker. She has built a career telling people to stop overthinking and take action.
That framework, move fast, feel the fear, do it anyway, is exactly the wrong lens for introducing people to LLMs.
Large language models require the opposite of that.

Mel Robbins just posted a sponsored prompt for Microsoft Copilot telling her 10 million followers to hand their financial documents over to an LLM and let it sort out their money problems.
Before we talk about why that is dangerous, we need to talk about the word she used to describe the tool.

A client was sharing their frustration today. The kind that comes from being exposed to the work and not being able to unsee what they now see.
I said: you know too much to go back but you don't know enough to go forward.
That is the shed.
Not a crisis.
A passage.
The old structure has dissolved.
The new one has not yet formed.

In an advising session today I said something with a level of clarity I have not said before: what we have is not a great indicator of what's possible.
The myth operates inside organizational strategy the same way it operates everywhere else. What currently exists becomes the ceiling for imagination rather than the floor. Products, services, processes, all of it gets treated as proof of limits rather than evidence of a starting point.

Someone died recently whom I never liked. And the words that came to mind when I heard the news are the same words I keep coming back to when I think about this moment and the white folx I have spent decades trying to reach.
I am not celebrating. Celebration in the face of death causes pain to people who loved them, and I have no interest in that.
But I am also not pretending.

The Supreme Court's active participation in dismantling the protections that keep those the myth deems beneath it from having recourse is not a surprise. It should not be read as one. It is what systems, institutions, and policies do when the accountability portion of their own design begins to arrive. When the harm that was always structural starts landing close enough to the people who believed they were protected from it.

I have been writing about loyalty versus trust in The Predator's Table and it sent me back to a conversation that went global last year: would women rather meet a bear or a man in the woods?
Most women chose the bear. Many men took offense.
Writing this book clarified something for me: given a choice, most men would also choose the bear over the men they are in relationship with. Not because men are inherently dangerous.

Dear White Folx,
"You can't do this work and sustain without burning out without joy because you have to have something to look forward to. Who wants to get beat down every day?"
I said this on the Yell Fire! podcast and it is one of the things I need you to understand if you are serious about this work.

Dear White Folx,
"Blackness is joy. And that is what pisses white people off the most. It is that you have been taught that we are beneath you and yet we are still happy. And you don't understand that fundamentally at all."
I said this on the Yell Fire! podcast and I meant every word of it.

Dear White Folx,
"Nothing in whiteness teaches you about joy, pleasure, play, and passion that isn't about control, entitlement, or competition. You don't know joy just to be joyful."
I said this on the Yell Fire! podcast recently and I want to sit with it here because it names something that most conversations about race never touch: what the myth of white supremacy actually stole from you.
Not from Black people. From you.

2026-04-20 18:24:09 UTC

You are already at the table.
You did not choose it. You were born into a world where the seat had already been assigned, the rules already written, the cost of belonging already decided before you were old enough to grow up or gain your consent. And because the table was always there, you learned to want it. You learned to work for it. You learned, eventually, to defend it.
That wanting is where this begins.

2026-04-11 18:27:56 UTC

I tell people I should come with a warning label. Not as a joke. As a fact. Once I show you what you have been missing, you cannot unknow it. There is a time before the conversation and a time after it, and they do not feel the same. Before, you could rely on ignorance as an excuse. After, there are decisions to be made. You either continue as you were, now with the full knowledge that you are choosing complicity, or you do not. That is not a comfortable place to be.
