You want to help. You say so clearly, loudly, and often. You list your credentials. You reference the one time you were in the same room as someone doing this work. You fill out a form. And when someone asks you to demonstrate even the most basic familiarity with the work you say you want to support, you explain why that expectation is unreasonable.

That is not help. That is entitlement.
