Just started The Root Chakra. I'm calling it now: Pavi killed their parents.
I was thinking it was Nisha who did it. And that her berserk state is what made Pavi lose her leg. But now I'm thinking Pavi is the one who went berserk because they were leaving Nisha behind

I feel like. What's going to happen is one of them is going to have to be the Scapegoat. The "Dark" Avatar is going to have bear the brunt of the world's fear of them. And the "Light" Avatar is going to position themself as the guardian

I feel like their motivations are going to constantly switching between polar opposites, until they become fully estranged for a season or two. And ending in a climactic battle between them that creates a catharsis and realignment

Pavi's original thing was not being the avatar and finding their parents. Now she doesn't want to find her parents anymore
Nisha's whole thing was wanting to be the Avatar, and not finding their parents. Now she's afraid of being the Avatar, and is gonna have to find her parents eventually

I'm getting the vibe that the two of them are never going to be on the same page. When one of their priorities changes to align, the other ones changes to something else.

2026-11-01 14:23:19 UTC

I'm believing that Pavi is actually the Dark Avatar rather than Nisha. Pavi is shown to be more intune with the spiritual side of things, and the previous goal of the Dark Avatar was to unite the spiritual and material worlds.
Plus the obvious theming with the cats speaks to a twist in my opinion. Pavi has a Light cat and Nisha has a Dark cat. So we're primed to think Pavi is Light and Nisha is dark, when they might be the inverse.

one possible ending is that it's literally just ends up with a full reset lol. Everything is back to how it was at the start but Cain is "stable" and they all just have Never Ending adventures because they realize they were just pale imitations of Humans to begin with

2026-03-23 03:36:43 UTC

- reply

it could also be that, Cain was in full control of their environment AND them, as he's shown to be the source of the profanity filter and he's the one who's given them those bodies. So Abstraction has an origin in him since he's shown as abstracting when he was being developed before he killed Abel (the blue dot) and absorbing them. The original flaw was still there and he probably modeled their consciousness after his own.

2026-03-23 03:34:30 UTC

- reply

this could also explain why they don't have a complete memory of who they are and how they got here, only the general stuff. It can only create an approximation of who they are but can't get deep enough to replicate them entirely.
Abstraction may be somehow realizing this fact and having their sense of self completely collapse. Causing them to use the "conjuration" ability on themselves to become skewed.

people who have never volunteered, and never intend to volunteer to staff a Con need to stop complaining when lines are long or when things aren't going as planned. And they also need to stop saying that cons should just "start paying people" but also complain when registration is expensive. There's lots of things to criticize Cons for, but yelling at people about logistics, when 50% of their volunteers just do not show up isn't the move..

- reply

much to my dismay. Literally the worst area in the game frankly.

2025-10-06 19:57:50 UTC

- reply

Literally!! That and also, if you're doing a gauntlet that expands into a boss fight, DON'T MAKE ME DO THE GAUNTLET EACH TIME. Add a check that says the gauntlet was completed and then let me go straight to the boss. Having me have to do both each other is just mind numbing. ESPECIALLY with the egregious runbacks.

2025-10-06 12:58:11 UTC

- reply

Agreed agreed agreed.
The gauntlets would be cool if it was in an area that's meant to be like, a test of your combat skill and you keep coming back to progress further as you power up (or skill up) not when it's just to progress through an optional area. Or when it's to get to an optional boss that you have to fight the gauntlet for Everytime.
It's like they saw the excess of the Pantheon in HK and went "The whole game should be this actually"

2025-10-06 11:01:34 UTC

- reply

one thing that would like, immediately improve the game for me is just Not Having So Many Gauntlets and also not having bosses that only show up at the end of a gauntlet and ALSO spawn enemies during the fight.
It's fine if it's one or two of them. But so far I've fought like 5 I feel like

2025-10-05 11:58:28 UTC

- reply

I finally managed to beat Last Judge after doing a majority of Act 2 and now I'm at the end of Act 2 and I have a few optional bosses left over and have fun out of objectives to procrastinate with lol. This game so far is a cycle of doing stuff that's really fun and then putting off the frustrating stuff

2025-09-26 14:08:29 UTC

- reply

I'm just imagining how much improvemnt the Fedi could have if all the people who immediately jumped ship to "Develop" ATProto stuff put that effort into developing Fedi stuff.
Like, I know its not that simple, and it costs money and the Fedi isn't the most Warm Fuzzy place all the time but like, damn, they'd really rather do pretend decentralization the average person will never use

2025-09-23 19:48:25 UTC

- reply

or "Hey cool you found a bench! You know what'd be REALLY funny? If it was trapped! Hahahah get wrecked IDIOT"
There are just moments where I'm like "Whoever made this decision didn't make it because they thought it'd make the game more fun, they just wanted to be mean."

2025-09-23 19:19:09 UTC

- reply

I've basically been going back to Act One areas and clearing out objectives there before I progress further into Act Two. Though I am seeing how a lot of the time I just need to slow down with bosses and accept I'm gonna die a bunch. The game is "overall' fair. But there are still moments where I'm like "What was I even supposed to do to prevent that?"

2025-09-23 19:17:24 UTC

- reply

You know what agreed. Yeah. I still haven't beaten last judge but it's probably time to soon lol. I'm hitting a couple road blocks in my exploration that can summed up as "This section is super frustrating and I'm getting pissed" because they're REALLY stingy with benches and shortcuts at times.

2025-09-23 12:21:42 UTC

- reply

yeah such a weird decision. Frankly I feel like the spots should be reversed. I feel like Phantom is more thematically sound as a required boss (even her lore fits her being a gatekeeper) and Last Judge belongs in sinner's road. Last Judge feels more like an optional boss than phantom.
Plus, Phantom's runback is SO much more reasonable.

2025-09-22 02:58:20 UTC

- reply

also I think another thing that makes the game feel less impactful is that a lot of the NPCs just don't feel like they.....matter. The NPCs in the settlements just don't have much personality imo. They just kinda feel like they're there

2025-09-22 02:41:16 UTC

- reply

Anwyays I finally cleared most of Hunter's March except for the Bossfight and now I probably oughta defeat the Last Judge after that as well. \

2025-09-22 02:40:08 UTC

- reply

I think its an Okay Game. But a lot of what's holding it back for me is the Tedium. The runbacks are tedious. The quests are tedious. The ENDLESS NO REASON GAUNTLETS are tedious. It definitely feels like some of the magic from Hollow Knight is lost. Lots of the lore and world building feels disjointed so far.
It is also like, designed with the assumption you'll do multiple playthroughs I feel

2025-09-22 02:36:54 UTC

- reply

A lot of your criticisms are absolutely correct. They didn't rebalance the game for anyone who wasn't super hardcore 100% True Ending Hollow Knight players I feel. The Difficulty did NOT curve the same way, the growth doesn't feel the same, a lot of the upgrades are locked behind very tedious challenges or weird questlines. I don't feel the same sense of wonder from Hollow Knight.

2025-09-20 11:23:38 UTC

there's like, a couple alternate routes apparently. I accidentally locked myself out of one of them but the other one I stumbled across and the run back for that boss is a LOT less egregious and the fight more manageable
Though apparently you do need to beat Last Judge eventually since it's a required trigger I think

2025-09-20 11:09:22 UTC

- reply

a gripe I'm definitely feeling in this game is how infuriating a lot of the runbacks are. Especially for important bosses like this. Even Eldin Ring was a bit more forgiving a majority of the time with the route back to bosses

My favorite thing about people's complaints about Mastodon is that they have the same complaints about Bluesky. Like almost the exact same.
A big reason they chose Bluesky is because it just requires less effort imo. You can just post and not have to interact with other people and gain traction. On Mastodon you get ignored for that.

2025-09-07 23:04:31 UTC

yeah it's very strange and I don't know why they made that decision. Especially ones so far from a bench. I'm stuck in the one where Shakta is supposed to come help but doesn't

2025-09-07 10:42:43 UTC

- reply

yeah I'm not super far into the game but one thing I will say is that the difficulty feels arbitrarily raised by just having bosses deal two damage. This game so far feels a LOT less forgiving than Hollow Knight such isn't always bad. But at times it's just super frustrating trying to navigate a flight where my first instinct is "Is the game telling me I should go somewhere else first?"

yeah I'm noticing something similar for Anthrocon (though I didn't plan to go until last month but my friends were talking about rooms). There's a bunch of single rooms open in some of the hotels just no doubles. I'd probably be rooming solo anyways so it'd work for me. As long as the commute from hotel to con isn't long.
It is funny that it's the same convention center as MiR.
