I agree that they can be hard to control. Still, if you can find a few low-stakes pockets of time in your day, I highly recommend that you throw on the sad tunes or shows during that time frame and just let loose.

It's a nice weekend so far, although I seem to have some sort of allergies or cold bothering me. I used the tortilla press, the atta flour and the recipe I had to make methi roti for supper. They don't look or feel the same as the ones that are rolled out by hand, but they work for dipping into chili. I got my first signature on the #WaterNotCoal survey last night, and got a bunch more today at the Old Strahcona Farmers' Market. Whyte Avenue is pretty by night, and there are new murals to see in the daylight. Tonight is better than Christmas for me because I will wake up to #DaylightSavingTime. It's no longer fashionable to like time changes, but I find it fabulous to have longer evenings all through until November now! And then, we'll need that extra light in the mornings. Weather in #YEG is unseasonably lovely!

Woo hoo!!! I don't follow much of the information about upcoming shows, but I have really been missing Song Kang's lovely face and body on my screen, and #Hwarang is definitely worth a rewatch, especially after The Great Queen Seondeok and the emphasis on how critical this group of warriors was during the Silla empire.

#The100DayProject
Day 3: The first pair of pyjamas that I sewed, using a scrubs pattern, has had a very loose and folded-over waistband for quite a while. Today was the day to replace that waistband. I've really appreciated these PJs, especially because they've been totally suitable to wear in public places like a campground, a hostel, a friend's place, or to run down to the garbage and back.
The pockets are made with Okinawa cotton, the fabric that lured me into sewing 8 years ago. The market was full of lovely items that were made from the cottons, and I kept thinking, "I can make that!" Turns out that I can.

I think you're asking for some kind of a guide that you can read or listen to. I would suggest finding groups of people doing things that you believe in, and spend time regularly with those people. I got rid of a collection of old external hard drives. I don't buy too many electronics, but some of them break down quite quickly, like the shredder that I borrowed and burned out. There's an eco-station that's not too far away from my place. I had to uncover the floor of my storage room because exterminators were visiting my place. Thankfully, that's done, and my bike even fits inside. The re-use centre takes old plant pots, and they got a couple of stacks of those.

If you haven't already done so, you really need to visit the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, WY. It's rightfully called "the Smithsonian of the West". You automatically get a ticket to visit for 2 days, and that's helpful. The KOA campground there has Kamping Kabins, a great way to get the camping experience without getting wet. Helena, MT, also has an excellent museum with Western artworks.

Plenty of content elsewhere. I have to remember to cancel my Kocowa subscription after I finish watching The Korea-Khitan War. I'm currently forcing myself to complete the monstrous "classic", Frankenstein. The #AppleWatch made me do it! Since I've already cancelled tomorrow's planned snowshoeing outing, I didn't want another day with empty exercise rings. Also, today's fresh powder is gorgeous. So, I wandered up and down our shopping street and popped my head into a few shops. The only tempting one was the pen and journal shop, and that was clearly a super popular pre-New Year destination, with a long lineup at the till.
At the end, I stopped at Paris Baguette to work on my Korean. The new employee was super excited when I wished her a Happy New Year and ordered my Americano in Korean, and she came over to invite me to do some regular language practice. I'm impressed that I can initiate more conversation. The learning is getting absorbed.

#AmReading The Annual Migration of Clouds, an interesting dystopian novel by local writer, Premee Mohamad, after finishing We Have Always Been Here: A Queer Muslim Memoir, by Samra Habib, for tonight's book club. On Wednesday, I'll take another cooking class at the main library, making beet borscht, a favourite.
Exercise is happening more days than not, with some coaxing from my #AppleWatch. Today was pool running.

Grains are super-satisfying, nutritious, and easy to prepare with either a rice cooker or #InstantPot. Pressed barley, available at HMart, is my personal favourite.

When I worked as a social worker, I learned about an overly conscientious secretary on another floor, who came to work sick with the flu, until she left work for the hospital, never to return. After that, I usually took sick days when I felt poorly, even though I hated cancelling booked appointments.

Not really. I haven't worn makeup for decades, but I still have a soft spot for that particular product.

Lovely representation of so many growing things! One book that I reread, The Garden of Evening Mists, has an interesting tradition regarding tattoos.

Oh dear! I'm also pretty excellent at forgetting things, but some of those strategies are proving helpful for me. Keep on doing your best.

Apparently, you have! One of the excellent surprises for me when I got my #AppleWatch was the excellent setup for medication reminders in the Health app. I have several on an odd schedule, so the reminders are very useful.

That fever and nausea, not so much. Hope it passes quickly.

I'm still on pause, after realizing that I sewed the armhole binding onto the wrong side of my garment. Progress will resume at some point, but I haven't done much sewing this week.

iPhones are amazing for catching those quick shots in a day. I seriously miss those narrow streets and alleys of Asia, especially the ones that are lined with lots of plant life!

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, you can get help from someone during the week. I'm not sure if you have a smart watch, but I'm finding that it tracks SO much health-related data, which can be helpful for monitoring conditions. Have a peaceful and joyful Sunday!

Were you able to get any medical guidance or assistance for your loss of consciousness?? Scary times. Glad that the Fediverse lets you seize joy out of challenging times.

@nprofile…6fxc I’m pretty sure that I’ve nearly always used it for both. It rolls the seamline around towards the inside of the garment. I’m about to start my neckline and arm holes next.

Thanks! I may make it to the neckline point of construction today, so I'll check out her tips. I'm on Team Clips. I try to pin garments as little as possible when I sew. Installation of patch pockets requires a few, after I use my handy glue stick to lay them in the desired spot!

That sounds quite scary! Perhaps one of those shower stools can keep you a bit safer while you try to stay clean. I hope there are no after-effects of all of that head-banging.

So much pinning! After a lot of experimentation, I've decided that bias binding is my favourite neckline and arm finish. Understitching makes a significant difference, especially when I do it in the correct direction!

I forced myself not to binge because I enjoyed it so much and wanted to remember it longer. The story premise is kind of ridiculous, but that's part of what keeps it entertaining.

Well, our idiotic province isn't bargaining with the province's teachers in good faith, so every child in the province is locked out of school for the foreseeable future. However, museum admission was free for kids, and it's the final week of the orca exhibit, so it was a fabulous day for a field trip, taking the bus/LRT there and back, and grabbing lunch at a mall food court.
Since I'm spending the next 3 days at an out-of-town sewing retreat, I did doorknocking with a team last night, meeting apartment-dwellers who were thrilled to be approached. And today, I knocked on the doors in my building. It will be nice to have our future decided, come Monday, but I'll miss having this level of engagement in civic politics.

Personally, I'd just try setting the new watch on the old charger and see if it does anything. Apple certainly plays around with their connections over time, but they do maintain quite a bit of consistency. I've got my C cable attached to my computer, and my USB cord is attached to the OTT light beside my morning coffee nest.

I definitely travel less frequently as I age, but I'm also REALLY appreciating #camping and hostels, as affordable and interesting ways to travel! Especially as I age, I value the multiple mental challenges that travel provides.
