Pokopia tempting me with dressing my favourite pokemon up in cute accessories. I want to put sunnies on a leafeon.
The new Kirby game actually looks amazing, I think having really good movement again, and in a continuous open world might just do it for me. If they somehow have Milky Way Wishes permanent abilities I'm gonna be over the moon, that will be the dream game I didn't know I wanted.

Watching Mr ActivityPub glazing a dodgy LLM is kind of both bizarre and also illuminating. It's the "trend toward significance" mentality, this fata morgana of technology that is actually useful and functional, but just not yet. Rather than foundationally defective for the things people want to use it for.

@nprofile…jspd sketching out some intuitions. I think the difference between a tactics RPG and a CRPG is that the former follows the general Japanese trend of simplifying the strategy and menuing and focusing on the gameplay, even if the gameplay systems themselves have a lot of complexity like in Tactics Ogre. I'm not worrying about irreversible or highly planned builds. Gameplay flow can be a better too, CRPGs are this weird mix of real time combat and stop start menuing, while tactics RPGs are consistently about menuing, or consistently real time.

2026-08-20 10:54:22 UTC

fantasising about WotR characters is apparently much more fun than actually playing WotR. despite my love of tactics RPGs I just have never been able to click with CRPGs, and I have no idea what is wrong with me.

fedi friends, I need some advice for how to emotionally/neurologically self-regulate a bit better when in a period of severe physical disability.
I'm spending a lot of time bed- and housebound due to broken sleep, hypersomnia and fatigue, and it's making it hard for me to cope emotionally with other stress. My normal strategy is to go for walks or scooter rides and get moving out in nature, but this is episodically not available to me due to fatigue and sleepiness.

@nprofile…jspd the previous controller, the GuliKit KingKong 2, was haunted by the ghosts of unknown garbage data. Fun things like start also triggering the meta key and opening my system menu, or LB+X triggering select as well at random, or the home key randomly pressing when the controller was idle. Very ghost, much spooky.

2026-06-30 13:49:40 UTC

Played Dragon's Dogma 2 all day today. You know, to confirm my controller wasn't haunted.
The two worst threats I faced in today's session were getting oneshot by a dragon landing on me, and a pair of slimes eating all my healing items mid-dungeon :BlobCat_MeltThumbsUpTears:
Still killed a lich with literally no healing left though, that felt pretty sick. Mystic Spearhand successfully replicates the feeling of being an Insect Glaive sicko, just without the cute little bug buddy.

2026-05-07 13:22:21 UTC

Thinking about love styles and music, also on a day where I've been samesonging Wherever, Whenever by Shakira and heard Shape of You by Ed Sheeran on the radio.
Kind of striking that, outside of R&B, it's mostly only woman-sung love songs that hit the eros thematic trifecta of emotional passion, sensuality, and commitment. Examples being the mentioned Shakira song or another fav, Neptune's Jewels by Mystic.
Also outside of R&B, I guess it's striking how sensuality and sexuality for men are associated with casualness and are more thematically ludus, and I wonder if this is part of a cultural complex that male sexuality is inherently noncommittal and not truly romantic. Secure and confident romanticism from male vocalists, at least white ones, is seemingly predominantly chaste and very lyrical and poetical.
I have no idea if it's a social cognition gender thing that I vibe way more with the thematically rich sex-and-romance feminine love songs :reed_shrug:
