It's the people with the money to buy elections.
And in this case, oil barons.
None of us know who they are, they have good reason to stay anonymous and unnoticed.

I'm at home, naked, sitting 2 feet away from the AC vent, and sweating constantly.
Yeah, I'm pretty mad at the people responsible.

You know who's got microscopes and other tests? Doctors.
The problem is getting them to care. (Common issue these days, not just in healthcare.. hm..)

That guy who has no familial obligations or car payments is going to save up his money. He might eventually have enough to risk going a few months without a job or *gasp* buy his own business! He might even decide to pick up and move across the country with his savings.
Can't depend on him to slave away for 5 years with nothing to show for it. Very unreliable. Do not hire.

2026-07-04 02:08:43 UTC

If you're looking for a job, here's a tip:
Employers want you desperate, but not in ways that might make you steal. So debt is bad, but student debt is good. They like to hear that you have family depending on you at home and that you don't own it. They want you to be spending as much of your paycheck as possible just on life maintenance. So play that sort of thing up in the interview.
Also, I have experimented with faking being a Christian and it got me a job in an emergency. Just drop a "I really pray I can get this job" or something like that, and they love it (assuming the boss is religious..)

The difficulty in argumentation is in the specificity of language. The discussion always goes off the rails when there is disagreement about the connotations of words.

This was sarcastic btw. This is my way of saying "Never speak of crime on mastodon".
But also, if you had something you wanted to archive, like a video of brutality or something, mastodon will retain it, somewhere, forever.

#driftingofftosleepthought #showerthoughts
Mastodon makes a good permanent retention medium. If you want a message to be permanently archived, send it to mastodon (or fedi.. w/e), one of the federated servers will surely be retaining every message, forever.

I was just watching a short docu about high fructose corn syrup. I hear the words "It all began in 1983 when the Reagan administration.." 😡
If it ain't Reagan, it's Thatcher. *sigh*
But I want to think about how we solve this. Everyone's all "LUIGI LUIGI LUIGI" but you know.. I don't even think that would solve it. We need a revolution from the bottom up, by providing services to each other that we are not being provided by the owning class.

The same thing that is attractive about a shadetree mechanic. They're usually even MORE knowledgeable than 'professionals' and the service will be cheaper in the absence of the overhead of paying their employer too. Also, in the case of doctors, whether you have health insurance, or if they are 'in-network' when you do, is not of any concern when the doctor is unlicensed.

I suppose the main thing I want to discuss is real-world change.
Recent example I'm seeing is the health insurance problem. I can think of solutions. They're illegal to enact but not to talk about.
I think that I'd like to see an unlicensed physician. Thats very illegal. How can I find one? (Just for example)

I'm up for anything. Obviously I love politics. You tend to post about work. We can talk about that if you'd like.
Just yesterday I was talking to a coworker and I said "thank you, I've been lonely in this little corner, all I needed was for someone to listen" and I had a realization that not being heard is a problem I'm having in all areas of my life.
Recently gave feedback on instructions someone wrote with unclear language. They didn't correct the unclear language, they added more words after it. It remained unclear. I exclaimed "NO ONE EVER LISTENS!" and was surprised when he poked his head around the cubicle wall. Oops, he heard me.
He's one of my favorite co-workers. We apologized to each other the next morning.
When I read your workplace grumblings, I relate. Though I'm not sure what to comment about it.

I could have been a pretty good therapist.
I was a peer counselor at school once. That's where they let kids talk out problems. Every case was one bully and one introvert. It was so obvious what was going on, but the supervising adult and "the rules" said we had to be neutral and treat it like both sides had merits.
Bo Burnham: "That is how the world works!"
I got "fired" for going off script every time. Fuck that shit.
Pro tip, beat bullies to a pulp. If they survive, beat them again. They speak one language, and I don't need a translator because I can speak it too.

Already saw it when it was on TV in the 90s :P
I'm observing a large church near me. Every once in a while I see a whole bunch of bikers and truck drivers with the MAGA uniform on (mirrored ballistic sunglasses) having a meeting in that church. I've been thinking it'd be a good idea to plant a bug in the room where they meet. Pretty sure I'm seeing nazi gatherings a block away from my house.
I'd like to know for sure they're the "extreme" kind of nazi, and not the typical kind that I see in every walmart.
And if it turns out I am right.. well.. I guess I'll go introduce myself.

I have bought two AAA games recently, Baldur's Gate and Expedition 33. I don't even want to play them and would rather just watch a playthrough because they are so linear and predictable.
Waste of money IMO, I should stick to just watching people play them. Multiplayer is worth buying but singleplayer is better off pirated.
Addited:
My disappointment with these games comes mostly from my overanalysis. Baldur's Gate would be more fun if I didn't understand balance and difficulty. I can build OP characters very easily. The challenge is in limiting yourslef.
E33 basically just feels like dark souls meets final fantasy to me, and the very first enemy did some telegraph-and-then-hesitate bullshit and I was done, because who TF does that satisfy? Just make it a realistic fast attack pattern that takes skills to understand. Don't bait and switch me... ugh.

Interact with enough of the average person and you begin to understand that they aren't led by their own rationalisation but instead by the "wisdom of crowds". If you can make an idea seem popular, no one will stop to question whether it is true.
They're playing off of the mainstream media's perspective, simply echo that and most will just agree because they've heard it before.
I've noticed that these anomalous individuals get hundreds of likes and boosts in very short order. I'm not saying it's bots, I'm saying it's people, who behave like bots. Unquestioning of themselves.

I just cannot imagine any scenario where the majority of people support armed insurrection. They didn't do it when ICE killed.
I'm imagining a scenario similar to Tiananmen where an APC with live ammunition opens up on a crowd, and people would still be on the side of the federal government.
The propaganda is just TOO good. I have a habit of reading comments from liberals and MAGA, to gauge the state things are in. They both approve of the killings of those "agitators".
The war will have to be fought while the media calls the people fighting back "terrorists" and "foreign agitators". There's no way to get around the total control of the media.
That's why I'm on here, to see past the filter. And also to convince myself I'm not crazy for seeing what's going on.

I took my last dose last friday. Had been holding onto a gummy for just-in-case but decided I need to remove the temptation. I'm going to try to get a new job next week.
The dreams came back today. Could be explained by CBD l leaving my system, could be the pain.
I have been in pain since this morning, my skull hurts in a non-headache kind of way, like it needs chiropracty. Also, I get sudden sharp dizzy spells occasionally.
My tooth did something weird this morning and bled a whole lot, but isn't hurting or bleeding anymore. When I spit in the sink, there were chunks in the mouthful of blood, like scabs.
So I took off from work early, and took a nap, and I got to see some dream-like images but no real dreams. Was nice.
Woke up still in pain.
Not to be dramatic, but I hear teeth can kill you. I cannot pay for treatment so I'm just waiting it out, patriotically 🇺🇲🫡

2026-06-04 16:47:28 UTC

Lol.. I wrote out "I have controversial opinions that I'm scared to talk about here"
Then I deleted it because some people might just go "that's all I need to hear! *BLOCKED*"
And that's kind of the problem, isn't it?
You know I'm not a fascist or an authoritarian. Please don't assume that. These controversial opinions are, IMO, only controversial because of US propaganda being so pervasive.
For example, "those babies were not Hamas" is a controversial opinion, but not as much on here.

One thing our type has in common is that we're very verbose. I think that is a sign of introspection, which they call "introverted thinking".
I think you said before that you were an INTP, just like me. The P is saying "intuition for the external world" and implies "thinking for your internal world". In other words, that you are introspective.
The typology isn't magic, it just obfuscates your own answers to the test through two layers. The first one being your letters, the second one being how the letters decode.

[I wrote that reply and then tried to corroborate it. Jung did not encourage "becoming your shadow" so I don't know where I got that from. In fact they treat the shadow like it's radioactive. I made an incorrect statement so I deleted it.]
When I learned the MBTI, I was in Jungian psychology class (which the types were loosely based on). It was my understanding that strong preferences indicated an unhealthy condition. I never believed the preferences were immutable.
In fact, the first thing I did was try to change all of my preferences to my shadow, which would make me an ESFJ, a counselor sort of person. My true type is INTP, which is the absent-minded professor type.
To this day, I embody more of my shadow than my primary.
Somewhere along the line, corporate culture (capitalism) got its hands on the enneagram and decided to use it for discrimination... I hate that they've ruined it, because it's so useful as a tool for analyzing yourself and others. And it can aid in communication too.
