They were making them for grid-connected storage, in the megawatt hour range... Unfortunately that market has been taken over by lithium.
The Na and S ingredients were relatively cheap. Operated in a heated enclosure with both elements in the molten liquid state. 300 degrees C as I recall.

Those NGK NaS cells were badass! They have stopped making them, however. Biggest problem was the fragile beta-alumina membrane that kept the Na from directly reacting with the S and starting a fire.

Like I said, you can also make a home version of the Edison cell, with simpler technology than the video in your OP.
I don't know exactly what the cost is, but they are more useful as stationary energy storage, since they are relatively heavy, per kWh. By the way those old Exide glass battery jars are collectible items now. The Chinese version employs plastic jugs -- maybe less environmentally friendly, but cheaper.
The lithium titanate cells are quite rugged and durable, and may find a place as safer replacements for EV batteries (less of a fire hazard)

OK, I have an answer for the LTO batteries. From the first Amazon page, I have some 40Ah 2.3V cells (40Ah @ 2.3V = .092kWh) for $52.26 per unit, in quantities of a dozen or so. It works out to $568.07 per kWh from that one listing.
For the Edison cells, I don't know. You can make them in your kitchen like the video in the OP. But you don't need to make your own semipermeable membranes, or worry about flowing solutions of whatever.
My brother was putting in a solar system, and I talked him into getting Edison cells for it (also made in China now ofc) ... later he was mad at me because they arrived as packages of dry chemicals, and when he mixed alkali and water, it started boiling. I should have known, he majored in physics not chemistry. Also that 50% efficiency and the charge controller/inverter he got is programmed to maintain lead-acid batteries. Lead-acid requires a special charge and maintenance cycle, due to quirks of the lead sulfate reaction product. (PbSO4 is neither soluble in water/acid, nor does it conduct electricity)
That was 20 years ago, and I'll bet his Edison cells are still working the same in his vacation home... they might need a little distilled water now and then.
There is one other thing you need to do in either NiFe Edison batteries or your 'flow cell' design, and that is to exclude air from the electrolyte solution. The reason is that NaOH or KOH solutions will, over time, absorb traces of CO2 from the air and become K2CO3 etc. CO2 is a weak acid, and strong bases love to pair with acids. Even at a few hundred ppm, CO2 will ruin your alkali solutions over a few days' exposure.

I don't know, exactly, and +/- this week's Trump tariffs. You can see from the picture that the company is Chinese. LTO batteries are solid-state, quite rugged, and Chinese companies are quickly ramping up production. Lithium is lithium, you know about that already. It's found in salt deposits in dry deserts such as the Atacama. It's a comparatively rare element, but nature concentrates it for us in a few places. There are also spodumene deposits here and there among solid rocks.. Titanium is the white stuff in white paint, it's a fairly abundant element.
But really, and toward the end of your exposition, you are moving toward nickel-iron. You have added iron to your battery, now consider nickel for the other electrode. A few other tweaks, like KOH electrolyte and catalytic recombiner caps, and you have a cell made of cheap, environmentally-friendly materials that will last a century. Only about 50% efficient, but it doesn't decline over time.

And, I object to chemistry being referred to as 'nasty'. You have to respect your chemicals -- whether they are corrosive, flammable, toxic, oxidizers, or some combination of those and other properties. As for the LiPF6, you probably shouldn't be monkeying with it if you don't know what you are doing. Some fluoroacids will dissolve glass and concrete...
All through that exposition, I see mentions of aqueous solutions and acids and bases. But (and I'll admit to skimming, it was tl;dr) nowhere did I see mention of the most likely product of that process, H2. Not only will it carry away most of your electric energy, it is the most flammable element on the periodic chart. So flammable that it was used as the propellant for the space shuttle.

Too clever by half. If 'twere true, then why does the pentagram hide and deny the casualties on bases and navy ships over there? Anyhoo, the reality, unfortunately, is that Israeli and US military domains are now fused into one. Problem is, the US military has been weakened and dumbed down by all the O'Biden years of 'diversity', and the Israeli army was always composed of psychopaths and cowards. And the whole show has been run by the Epstein class, or as I like to call them, globohomoziopedocorponegro. ...
I think ziopedo has simply misunderestimated Iran. Tucker has part of the picture, but the real war is for the conquest of Russia. Didn't work for Napoleon, didn't work for Hitler, but ziopedo thinks it can win. And Iran was supposed to be a speed bump on the way to dismantling and butchering Russia, China, and Iran for their resources. Syria and Venezuela were easy, after decades of ziopedo corruption, so why won't the rest of 'em just give up?

Pyrolysis makes a variety of small molecules, most of which are more interesting than useful. One prominent wood product would be furfural and its kin. It's a flammable volatile liquid but doesn't have much shelf life. It will polymerize, even in the absence of air. You'll have furfural varnish.
But if you add hydrogen to the furfural molecule, you can get dimethyl furan. Again, this works better under refinery conditions.

Back in the '80s, environmentalists were bitching about the water used by Texas Instruments wafer fab plants ..
What was funny about it was that TI used 'polished' water, cleaner than could be obtained by simple distillation or ion exchange, to wash off the silicon wafers. It had to be nine-nines purity, or something like that. They ran a big water purification plant, alongside the silicon etching and doping and so forth.
Even after washing photoresist and fluorosilicic acid and etc. off the wafers, it was still far cleaner than Dallas city water. You could drink it with impunity. It was recycled in-house. Any water discharged from the plant was cleaner than the rain.

Even mice need a little privacy for courtship and mating. When there are other mice literally everywhere, they can't breed.
