What’s the best way to author an epub today? I’d like to edit the xhtml directly, but am struggling with the conversion and packaging. I’m unhappy with the output from InDesign and Calibre.

A little sneak preview of some exciting new Darden Studio merch I’ve been working on. Extremely thrilled with how these turned out!

Again, Google chose a name other than “Googly Eyes” for a smart glasses product.

@nprofile…07k8 @nprofile…stzw 👍🏻 the thumbs down 👎🏻
They bought the dumpster to show how cool they are and be confrontational. The finger validates at least half of that. The thumbs down says their dumpster is stupid, which makes them really insecure.

@nprofile…rnt9 It looks comparable to cable, with no data caps. I’m 95% decided that I’m going to do it.

Does anyone have 5G home internet? Is it reliable? Is it good?
My local cable provider (Spectrum) has become increasingly unreliable with outages every 2 weeks. I’d like to make a switch, but I’m worried about the quality of moving from wired to wireless internet.

NEW WORK!
I am proud to present the branding guidelines I developed for @nprofile…km94, along with some of the thoughts and considerations that went into the design. I love working with amazing people who are doing big things here in the fediverse. 🚀🌌

Dear camera makers: If you’re making a fixed-lens camera system, put the shutter speed dial alongside the aperture dial as Hasselblad does. This way, you can quickly adjust speed and aperture together in one movement while maintaining proper exposure. #photography

It feels like all the news is a personal attack and I’m hurting.
- My wife is a federal employee
- My community is majority immigrants
- My close friends are trans
- My father called Palestine home and later worked with USAID
I love this country but my heart is shattered into pieces.

@nprofile…383v Just like tables are still great for tables, floats are still great for floats. It’s a shame both have so much layout baggage because floats are awesome.

Please let me know if anyone knows any temporary housing or support in NYC for a trans woman who has just been outed to her family. She currently doesn’t have a safe place to go right now. She does amazing CSS stuff. She has unfortunately aged out of a lot of trans youth programs.

Thinking about all the amazing pro-labor bangers that came out in 1980 and how much worse labor in the US has gotten. Working 9 to 5 with 15min breaks and a 30min lunch sounds pretty great compared to today where people work 9 to 6 or whenever then eat through their Zoom meetings under threat of mass layoffs.
Bangers in mind: 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton and The Gods Must Be Crazy (movie).

Seems like tenant rights should apply to college. Students live there yet they can be suspended and arrested in an instant, loosing their housing in the process?
Also the optics of mimicking the behavior of moving Palestinians out of their homes to make way for Israeli settlements...

The majority of people browse the web without an ad blocker. They see obtrusive ads, newsletter popups, cookie notices. These things are holding the web back just like popups did in the ’00s. This is driving people away from the web platform to apps.
If you work on the web platform or have the power to change this behavior for your corner of the web, I strongly encourage you to confront this issue instead of just installing an ad blocker to ignore it.
