Does anybody have a solution or link to something I might find useful for "Django migrations at scale".
The issue we've got is from multiple people migrating a project. Then branches getting merged to a pre-prod env for client sign-off/testing.
At that point you end up with the database in a messy state due to all the migration dependencies not matching up if things aren't merged quickly.

The @npub1wjg…t2fp involvement in @npub1zcc…afwd has been fantastic & we wanted to keep offering mentorship to people after they've been through the program.
The first person to be involved has written a little bit about the past few months.

it'd be great to see some example guidelines from a Django project.
I got it to generate some and it was very close to what the readme takes people through. But it seems like it needs details on coding conventions & at that point I'm uncertain what form that should take.
Perhaps the way it generates the guidelines could include coding conventions by reading commit hooks and config files to find black/ruff etc.

Any Django people interested in a review copy of a book I've been updating for 5.2?

Ok I just tried the CLI version. This can't come soon enough.
Just asked it why my allauth flow is trying to save a 640 character session key. After analysis it worked out it was a JWT from the Auth0 provider.
Very impressive stuff.

Hurrah! I just installed 2025.1 and wondered if it might be in the EAP 👀

Claude seems impressive. Though only 3.5 in pycharm at the moment, so I look forward to that updating.

That would be a good place to have an example of the in-app rendered preview of a template while you're editing it.

I've come through the parenting phase where I finish what my kids don't eat.
Now we're at the phase where they just want to eat what I make for myself!

What's the best/right way to deprecate a class?
django-nh3 has a PR to deprecate the current field based on TextField in favour of two fields based on CharField and TextField, with a deprecation warning on the current field.

Thanks, yeah I've been reading through that.
Currently doesn't look like there's celery support for valkey. So that's quite annoying. Looks like there might be a third party package to help with that though while the official one is in progress.

I'm starting a migration from redis to valkey.
The easy bit is done - I have a valkey cluster! Now I need to workout what django needs to look like for it to work with it.
And is Kombu still a thing when you're using valkey, I'm assuming so, but searching for these things usually turns up results about cooking 😂

Looking forward to seeing what we can get done together now 😁

Got one of those "why didn't we think of this earlier" PRs here.
A chance to tell people more about what we do as the @npub1wjg…t2fp association & how they can get involved.

Does anybody know of a linter type tool that can validate translated strings in python/django?
Something that can verify variable usage in strings in the kind of idea that started this thought.

The @npub1l0c…kt92 org made an appearance on my github orgs today. 😎
I'm having a productive week off with some therapeutic work alongside the time with my kids.

best way of cooking. All the best bbq takes hours. I used to do ribs on a Monday to make the week better. Get them on before work and they're ready when I finish. 😎
You mean like a cover for when you're not using it? Absolutely! And remember that after about two years they deteriorate. The cost of traeger covers is a bit steep, but I guess it's inline with what you're protecting.
