@ShadowAtlas on odysee made a comment about self-custodial sats long ago that I only start to fully capture now:
"Those coins are going to be unwanted"
It's basically predicting what's already happened with zcash: people NEED an offramp and turn to. And naturally the most of them turn towards the path of least resistance (CEXes) and this majority of people forces retail/OTC to accept this Taliban rule of KYC aswell!

2026-05-25 19:43:35 UTC

Seems to me there is a compromise that privacy protocols face, the same way there is a compromise for usual transaction systems (decentralization, security, scalability):
-data use (i.e fcmp++ uses more data than ring signatures)
-anonimity (i.e zk is better than ring signatures)
-compute (i.e quantum resistant proofs require heavier verification than pre-quantum)

But then you sacrifice native bitcoin compatibility on that new monero nostr... Plus what about subadresses, how would ppl choose which one to send to?
There should be a Nostr native way of linking a list of (blockchain, pubkey) pairs to a nostr profile. Not very elegant but at least everything is decoupled.

2026-05-24 20:22:57 UTC

- reply

Agree. Sad that bitcoin didn't implement privacy features in the first place, that's how it is and not bound to change.
But maybe it's not that bad that Bitcoin remains simple and conservative, since privacy protocols are evolving all the time. I like the idea of having a stable baseline to fall back to, even if it isnt private (Save in bitcoin spend in Monero type shi).

Not a nostr dev but here are my language recommendations:
Rust(hardcore, will make you into a computer genius once you get good at it)
Python(Easy. Most important language to know today. Essentially does everything, but slowly)
C++(standard in the software industry, hard because there is way to much to learn)
And I'm not sure the difficulty ranking is important, some language are hard AND useless.

My latest psyop is MFA.
who needs it, what's the point?
"to hAvE anOthEr LayEr of seCuriTy"
You think the FANG guys really care about you being more secure?
Try breaking out of google auth once you're in, and put your codes somewhere else... you can't! To me that sounds like an agenda for every dev to actually have smartphone when they are security nightmares!
I fail to see the actual value gained from using MFA.
device lost? now you can't login
Passwords stolen? They can't login, but how did you lose these passwords in the first place? You probably have poor opsec lol.
One 12 char password is really enough for security. I DONT want to have to use an MFA device every time I connect to something ffs.

Wonder what's y'all opinion on PoS (etherum implementation).
Imo:
-sampling based on staked amount actively rewards centralization
-the chain consensus seems more brittle than basic length of chain (as it is done in bitcoin)
-I fail to see how validation will adapt to increase/decrease in amount of validators. Seem like poor pipework.
I'm very curious about what you guys think about the protocol. Not the general considerations such as "PoS coins don't represent energy" or "Vitalik is the failure point".

The Qwen3 series are the best open source pure text-to-text models.
Qwen3.5 and Qwen3.6 are tuned for multimodality and agentic tool usage.
Gemma models are about edge computing.
The narrative is changing towards useless bullshit.
I don't see the same knowledge and thinking density in other models. It's the most used models for ML research too I heared.
When governments realize how much valuable those models are, they'll try slowly closing the open source gateways, so I strongly advise backing up those models!

2026-04-27 12:04:18 UTC

I see a lot of notes about gender roles reversing, men castration, etc... Supposedly, in favor of women. I argue it's deeper than that.
Both words, feminity and masculinity, have been stripped away of their meaning. Is a masculine men a toxic narcissist? A feminine women submissive and soft?
Both of those ideals have been distorted by the devil's agenda, promiscuity, egoism, detachment....

Despite the alignement with fine tuning, open weights models still retain crucial information that the governments would call "harmful".
All decoder-only models suffer from this. The guardrails are so weak, to revert this, fine tuning on explicitly harmful data (EHFT) essentially annihilates them.
I know some techniques like https://github.com/p-e-w/heretic exist but those blatantly cripple the LMs. I feel that actual jailbreaking techniques like EHFT are being silenced.

You're hedging against compute scarcity with this strategy, not AI.
And by hedging against AI I mean hedging against the absurd funding for microslop and 'em.
My point is that the compute exists and is valuable. All this compute will do one of two things: train/deploy models OR mine PoW coins. Investing in one means hedging against the other.
"A digitized currency cannot exist if the mechanisms necessary to digitize the currency (compute) is scarce". No, it's the opposite. PoW mining is valuable precisely because compute is scarce. And game theory implies any free compute would become scarce under the incentive of mining.

2026-01-23 08:25:54 UTC

Under these assumptions:
-wealth (ownership of assets) will be digitalized
-compute (energy, infrastructure and chips) is becoming scarce
it is only logical that PoW coins are the best hedge against AI we have.

It depends on your technique... usually with cotton buds people end up pushing earwax further down your ear instead of getting it out of there.
You need to go in straight without touching the sides of your ear cannal, then get the earwax out by twisting and pulling at the same time along the surface of your ear cannal.
Doctors recommend using those water-earplug devices but whatever.
Some people get unlucky and produce way more earwax than others...

Down the road this dichotomy will likely be used as an excuse for more centralization.

I don't think it is that bad of a design.
First of all I'd argue most of consumerism would vanish under the inelastic supply of a bitcoin standard.
Unfortunately western civilization restructured itself around debt and we need this kind of harsh wake up call.
That means going back to the essence of money: buying houses, buying food. No more gambling, no more hedge funds.
Moreover, inflation rate in itself doesn't really matter nearly as much as the consensus around it. Are halving cycles that much different from tail emissions? I view halvings as decreasing tail emissions.
Either way what saves us is that it isn't possible to issue debt out of thin air. We need bitcoin as SoV, Monero as MoE.
