But manipulation wasn't the topic, was it? War and annexation is obviously neither covert nor is it a manipulation. You say your point isn't to excuse anyone, but that's exactly what you mean when you say there must be a reason for Putin to attack Ukraine. But of course there is! The reason is the same as with Hitler, despicable disregard for human life veiled in nationalist agenda. And of course Ukraine deserves peace, but this peace has to protect the victim of this abhorrent crime.

So, what you are saying is that e.g. USA would be entirely within their right to annex parts of Mexico in case a pro-Russian or pro-Chinese government is installed in Mexico? Or Cuba? Or Venezuela? Wait... I think you are just rabid MAGA with extra steps.

Undemocratic according to whom? And in what world an undemocratic or democratic change of government is a cause of annexation and/or war? Russia is at the bottom of the Democracy index, it's high time someone annexes some part of Russia according to you?

Suddenly? You must have lived under a rock. Putin's Russia has been eating away at Ukraine's territory since 2014, by occupying Crimea than Donetsk and Luhansk. It was Georgia before that - Russia occupies some 20% of Georgia since 2007 in a form of "South Ossetian Republic". Before Georgia it was Moldova that has also some 20% of its territory occupied in a form of "Transnistrian Republic". Somewhere there was a war against Chechen Republic with ethnic cleansings and all that jazz...

I watched it. The level of idiocy US government is showing openly has surpassed the "cringe" level. The US is being ruled by a bunch of kind of CEOs you know are only here to pump up the stock. You know they will not be here next year when the expertise and the most valuable assets are gone. And the company was spending money going after goals that looked good for an investor pitch, but were obviously idiotic to everyone with more than two brain cells.

This sucks. Although we don't know who the shooter was, a story of "violent leftists" will never go away. Also it might give some popular support for the US government to take even more control of the universities. A loss of human life AND freedom. An obvious lose lose situation.

Putin's Russia on the other hand is entirely sovereign now. No friends, no allies, no functioning agreements. Just a series of opportunistic predatory ripoffs inflicted to or by Russia. It feels like this kind of "sovereignty" was one of the goals of the war Putin started.

How so? Iraq was arguably already failed state during Saddam - one of the most brutal dictatorships in the world at that time, mass murdering 10s of thousands of their own citizens. Now there are de facto several states within Iraq, there is parliament and it kind of works. Lebanon was an Iranian failed vassal state for decades, just like Yemen now. And Iran is barely holding on and only by jailing and executing thousands of protesting young Iranians yearly.

After very dark time things have improved for a lot of people in Iraq. Iraq was and still is ungovernable by democratic means just because of the diversity and mistrust of the ethnic and religious groups against each other. Now it is ungovernable by the dysfunctional parliament while it was only governable through extreme violence Saddam exerted. If Saddam died of natural causes Iraq would have experienced the same amount of violence.

I will raise you another one to contemplate. If that's how Ukraine it says it preempted Russian combined massive drone and missile strike then a very harsh, possibly even nuclear response to a possible Russian nuclear attack on Ukrainian territory is almost certainly prepared and is just one button push away. And I'm sure Kremlin has been warned before. This could be a demo.

I'm not familiar with "The Dozens", but some superficial googling tells me it's some racist slur. So, no surprises so far.
But I will gladly give you the substance. I believe that everyone should be able to get substance when they ask for it. Since you are unable or unwilling to open Wikipedia yourself, here is a screenshot of the "Occupation of Crimea" page with all the relevant sources.

And of course the most disgusting part of Russian propaganda is picking pieces of history for political gain. Putin's hobby. By your and Putin's logic both Finland and Poland should be part of Russia - both were part of Russian Empire. But how far do you and Putin want to go? Great Britain was part of the Roman Empire - it's about time Italy annexed York. The logic crumbles 3 seconds after you start thinking about it. That's why international order was created after WW2.

As expected just a bunch of spins and distortions of facts vile and disgusting at their core. It isn't about how "new" someone is, but about changing the law to fit the dictator and usurpation of power. Atm Zelensky has the same presidential power he had since he started. Putin does not. How does Raegan, Alzheimers, someone named van Damm or acting come into play sounds like another one of Trump's ramblings. You all sound to be infected with the same conspiracy virus.

3. The next Kremlin trope is: The Americans do it too - another bullshit story. Not trying to defend USA here, but Putin is the first leader since Hitler in Europe to start the war of an actual annexation the kind called "Lebensraum" by the Nazis which is called "Russian World" in terms of Russian propaganda. Of course it is no coincidence that Trump being the fascist that he is, is talking about the occupation of Canada and Greenland. Birds of a feather...

2. Zelensky being at least as dictator as Putin is another trope of Kremlin propaganda. Putin has been ruling Russia for over 20 years, much more than the two 4 year terms originally intended by the Russian constitution, both of these rules amended during his reign. Zelensky is fighting a war of survival during his first term presidency and unamended Ukrainian constitution forbids presidential election during an existential threat to the country.

A spin doctor? I see.
Let's take down your 1000 times refuted Kremlin bullshit one by one:
1. Ukrainians didn't start the war, in 2014 Russians occupied Crimea by surprise. With military force. During a revolution inside Ukraine. All that followed was Russian attempt at seizing more of Ukraine. All the "republics" were ruled by the Russian intelligence officers, with Russian passports, openly. There is a Youtube video of Strelkov the president of DNR admiting as much.

If that becomes (or already is) the official Russian position that means Russia (or rather USSR) claims not only territories of such NATO countries like Estonia or Latvia. But also Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan. Putin ceded some Russian territories to China a decade ago and that act would become illegal too. And that's just territories, there is probably a ton of treaties, laws and contracts that would become brain eating zombies after 30 odd years of eternal slumber. Strange timeline...

The public discourse seems to be shifting from "glorified Clippy" to "danger for humanity". Personally I don't see any signs atm pointing to AI replacing human labor, what I see is a very useful tool that enhances productivity for a lot of tasks. Will AI replace (all) human labor? We don't know yet. But just like a crane that has a lifting capability of thousands of humans, once it was built we went on and built huge cities accommodating millions. What if anyone could be a university?

This falls into the same category as a Donald Trump avenue, a Donald Trump square, a Donald Trump airport which surely will soon follow. The MAGA congressmen already try to rename the Washington Dulles airport to Donald Trump airport days after the inauguration. Dictatorship 101. They should rename USA to Americastan after Trump starts his third term.

It puzzles me why would Trump start deportations in places where he and his policies aren't welcome. It would be obvious to start mass deportations in states like Louisiana or Texas where the majority wants it. Why Chicago? Maybe he realizes the economic and societal fallout and his goal is just to cause misery in the anti-Trump bastions?

The number indicates that Russians wanted some high value prisoners that needed to be exchanged fast. I bet some of the Ukrainians returned were Azov or similar SOF. And because yesterday another 30 Russian soldiers were taken prisoner one could argue that Kursk offensive is at least somewhat successful, because the number of war prisoners will always increase during offensive or counter operations when taking over enemy positions.
