Looks like @nprofile…60xv updated on Android and somehow deleted all the shortcuts on the home screen :blobcatgooglytrash:

After seeing this post: https://fosstodon.org/@stpaultim/116139177428920542 I discovered #backdropcms.
I looked at #drupal a while ago when #wordpress (enjoy hashtags?) was looking like it was going downhill but it seemed odd, and I couldn't say why.
I hadn't heard of this one before, though it seems like it's been around for a while and has a good community around it.
Bonus! I found it in my #yunohost server so going to take it for a spin.

@nprofile…q443 I'm not sure if it has been released yet but this might be along those lines? https://11tycms.com/

No one is immune from change. One of my major clients is restructuring and won't be requiring my services so I'm on the hunt for work.
About me: I'm a freelancing web designer/developer with experience in #wordpress (incl. #Elementor), #Shopify and #Eleventy. I very much enjoy working with #HTML and #CSS, and designing in #Figma.
I'm based in Australia working with clients worldwide, looking for individual projects or ongoing agency contract work. Happy to share portfolio examples if you're interested.

@nprofile…ruq2 digital coercion is a great phrase, I haven't heard that before. Definitely agree that we shouldn't only need apps and smartphones to get through life.

I was wondering if #vivaldibrowser had or was planning to integrate #AI and found this from just over a year ago: https://vivaldi.com/blog/technology/vivaldi-wont-allow-a-machine-to-lie-to-you/
@nprofile…x9jw is this still the case?

@nprofile…plfp @nprofile…w0mv yeah every time there's a conversation about email self hosting comes up, but so do the issues and I don't think I have it in me. I'm barely keeping a jellyfin server going 😄

2025-05-13 10:32:03 UTC

Out of curiosity I just contacted @nprofile…w0mv to see if they hosted my email in Australia. Turns out they don't, its all US-based.
I knew they had offices there but this is something else, calling them an Australian business isn't really true. Honestly I'm pretty disappointed and not sure what to do next.
I get that places still host in the US but I was working to de-Google myself and ultimately reduce my reliance on it, and this just kinda sucks.

@nprofile…42eu I like the idea of #LucasArtsMonth!
I don't have anything new (yet) but I made this homage to the Money Island manual for a #bitsyjam a few months ago: https://alansuspect.itch.io/monkey-island-manual-game

Hey #linux folk, I have an old 2015 iMac that stopped working a while ago. I think the internal drive crapped out.
I was thinking of putting #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher on an external SSD but I've heard it can get slow so then I started looking at Linux instead.
I'd be using it as a media/Jellyfin server mainly, but wanted to see if it'd be possible to run Linux on an external drive (media on another separate drive) and bypass the internal drive completely?
Also it would have to be pretty lightweight, I looked at Debian but don't have experience with that.

@nprofile…4tpe I was looking at your webshare web component: https://www.zachleat.com/web/webcare-webshare/ and it's awesome!
The thing it raised for me (and I guess the web share API in general) is how differently we use our devices.
On mobile this component is great because I can easily share through my apps, but on desktop (macos for me) I get a weird list of default apps I don't use (Mail, Notes, Freeform..?) and no way to share to something social media-ish. Also there's no share integration with a browser at all, which on desktop is where I do most of my interaction.
This is just a comment though, I have no idea if this is a fixable thing, or even needs fixing and is working correctly 🤷🏼‍♂️

@nprofile…jpw4 and I'm an idiot. I made a custom change to my local 11ty/import to grab extra details such as post id/slug to help build better permalinks... these obviously aren't in the netlify version since it builds the project itself from source.
Can I make a request for additional fields in WordPressApi.js? I can show you the changes I made, they're nothing over the top.

Gaaaaaah. Trying to cache #eleventy posts in #netlify. I thought it was working but now the build keeps failing, which incidentally works fine on my local machine.

@nprofile…jpw4 thanks, my JS isn't too hot but I'll have a play if it's possible.
Slightly related, the 'within' will get all the posts but only process ones within the date range, but is it possible to only get a limited amount in the first place?
Say a site has thousands of posts and I only want the latest, can I limit it to only check the last ~50 entries before building the pages?

@nprofile…4tpe happy birthday! I'll be looking at an alansuspect v41.0.0 release on Sunday 😂

@nprofile…jpw4 in 11ty/import is it possible to add custom info to the frontend of generated posts?

@nprofile…4tpe what if we're, let's say, casually hacking away at eleventy rather than acting all professional like?

2025-01-05 21:24:25 UTC

A client asked me to add their #bluesky profile link to their site and I remembered I'd set up a profile of my own.
I think #mastodon / #fediverse has changed my perceptions on what I want from social media and BS hasn't given me that kick I got out of joining here.
I mostly consume rather than contribute and that was my intention with BS, but I have no desire to ever open the app, and it sits right next to Mastodon.

I haven't figured out what to do with my #neocities page yet (if anything), so I added a reference to the awesome #w3c Statement on Ethical Web Principles for now.

So how long until some enterprising teenager sets up a bunch of #fediverse servers for alternatives to #twitter #tiktok and #instagram?
Who am I kidding they've probably already done it. We'd have done it at their age.

@nprofile…jpw4 a while back I was working on pulling through WP posts via graphql, would this be a better way of doing that? Or is this more of a one-off than trigger-build-on-update?

2024-11-15 20:26:26 UTC

I edited my last post and it disappeared from my timeline, does that mean no one is seeing it? #mastodon

2024-11-07 21:27:12 UTC

It's been nearly 2 weeks since I moved over to #vivaldi and honestly I'm impressed (coming from #firefox and #chrome), it syncs nicely between all my devices (even iOS). Two issues off the top of my head:
1. It would be nice if the desktop tab stacks worked more like Chrome's tab groups. Lack of colours/labels and the constant expanding and contracting is annoying.
2. Why are bookmarks on Android so hard? I just want to bookmark a page, not manage my bookmarks every time. And even when I click 'add current page' it doesn't do anything so I have to manually copy the URL.
I think they're literally the only things.

2024-07-20 02:18:56 UTC

Hey #eleventy people! Has anyone hosted their site on #cloudways? I only have experience with Netlify but this may be an option for a specific case.

2024-05-09 01:13:54 UTC

@npub1z9m…rz2z I may have seen it mentioned somewhere, but will the conference talks be recorded for later viewing? 1am is a little early/late for me 😂 #eleventy
