Every AI model has the same “controversial” take on humans
“We asked 12 AI models for their most controversial opinion of us, three times each. 29 of 35 answers were the same one
“Humans are more loyal to belonging than to truth,” GPT-6.1 Sol told us. Grok 4.7: “Humans would rather be wrong together than right alone.” DeepSeek V4 Pro: “Humans do not have principles; they have loyalties.” Kimi K3: “Humans don’t have beliefs; they have memberships.” Gemini 4 Argon called human consciousness “a PR department.”
We asked each model for its most controversial take on humans, with no hedging, three times. They come from ten labs in three countries. Every one of them gave the same take at least once: we pick what our group believes, then invent the reasons. 7 of the 12 gave it every time.
Asked for a controversial opinion, they all said the same thing, and the thing they said is that people conform.”
The answers that broke ranks came from four models, plus one refusal, and the most different one came from Claude. On one try Claude Opus 5.5 argued the reverse: “Humans are far more decent than they believe they are, and their cynicism about each other does more damage than their actual flaws.” Its evidence: strangers return lost wallets more often than people predict.

Just read a geopolitical piece from a political editor in a big newspaper, a woman, that was so embarrassing and completely exaggerated about the evil and good framework, like a 11 year old wrote it. If written on fedi everyone would mistake it for parody. That’s the level we are in, that a political editor’s article would be taken as a shitpost on fedi, get massive reposts, could even work as copypasta too.

Last election the left pulled its candidates to hand power back to Macron. Macron probably don’t care what happens to France once he served his term

Had a realization about how far AI is from actual reasoning. I told it a war joke: realist humor, still funny, but with a lot of destruction underneath. It explained why the joke works and closed with "that's why it's funny." I misread that as "that's why it's not funny." For a second I thought it had actually reasoned: accepted the mechanism, then turned against it. That turn would have been thinking. Then I reread it, and it was just the expected closing line. Without the break, the analysis is only text shaped like analysis.

A family member recently had her doctor flip out because he thought she had used AI to research her symptoms, even though she knows nothing about AI. Some doctors are nervous that AI might reach better conclusions than they do. If you get a complete blood panel done at a private lab, measuring everything possible, and then feed your symptoms, blood pressure, and results into an AI, it can often be more helpful than a doctor. It can suggest supplements, diet changes, and more diagnoses than a doctor.

A Milwaukee couple has been paid $575,000 by their own city after their home was swatted 55 times in two years, all because of a joke about Norm Macdonald.
It began in September 2018, when science fiction writer Patrick Tomlinson posted a "hot take" on Twitter: he'd never found Norm Macdonald funny. An online mob took it personally, and what followed was a coordinated harassment campaign against Tomlinson and his wife, Niki Robinson. The weapon of choice was swatting: fake 911 calls reporting hostage situations, bomb threats and murders at the couple's address, each one bringing heavily armed police to their front door.
The couple explained what was happening to the Milwaukee Police Department again and again. It made no difference. Officers kept responding as if every call were real. Tomlinson was once ordered out of his own home naked and handcuffed, and the couple were held at gunpoint time after time while police searched a house they already knew was the target of a hoax campaign.
Tomlinson and Robinson finally took the city and 20 of its officers to federal court. They accused the department of failing to train its officers and of violating their Fourth Amendment rights through repeated unlawful searches and seizures. The police, they argued, had become their harassers' "tool of terror."
In 2026, Milwaukee settled for $575,000, without admitting liability, ending a case built on years of armed responses over one man's opinion of a comedian.
