The Raven, by Poe. The man, broken with grief and knowing that the raven always answers nevermore, keeps asking questions that reinforce his grief and then gets mad at the raven. The problem was never the raven, the problem was the man's outlook on life. Had he asked better questions, maybe it would've helped him heal.

I haven't watched it. I heard it starts really good and the ending is not so good. It made me create a personal rule which I call the Lost Rule: don't watch a hyped show till it's over. I broke it twice so far. Once for Mr Robot (totally worth it), once for Severance (worth it so far).
I may still watch Lost someday, but knowing what to expect prevents disappoiintment.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_culture#Five_Monkeys_Experiment
Five Monkeys Experiment
Since the late 1960s, the so-called "Five Monkeys Experiment", which serves to exemplify the adverse effects of unquestioned traditions, has become part of management lore, often titled "How Company Policy Is Made". It imagines a situation where five monkeys are in a cage with a banana tied to the ceiling. Whenever a monkey climbs to reach the banana, all five are sprayed with cold water. The group quickly learn to ignore the banana and punish any monkey who attempts to reach for it. If one monkey is removed from the cage and replaced with a newcomer, they too are punished for reaching for the banana. If every monkey is subsequently replaced in this manner, so that none present remember being sprayed with cold water, the group will supposedly continue to punish any attempts to reach the banana. The monkeys are perpetuating a caution that may be redundant, "because that's the way it's always been around here".

I absolutely adore chamber music (Bach is not Classical, but Baroque. I know you're using Classical in the sense most people use it, but each era is quite different). I also love metal, punk rock, etc. I don't like electronic music, but that't just a preference. What I dislike with a passion is the copypaste manufactured music that comes out of Disney-like popstarts, though. I also really dislike Nigger music like rap or hip hop that just says nigga every other word and talks about shooting people and fucking bitches.

2026-08-30 21:03:04 UTC

I mean, it's similar to the US: you have Dems and GOP and about half the population believes the GOP is literally Hitler and the Dems are giving people free stuff because they are great, while the other [almost] half believes the Dems are literally Satan and bombing Iran for Jews is great. And then you have a few outliers that realize that it's all fake and gay.
In Argentina's case, price control is pretty much exclusively a "Dems" thing and they were in power at the time. The incumbents are Libertarians (at least in name, not sure if in reality) so they are very much against price control.

2026-08-30 19:53:53 UTC
