It's great! One issue I see though, when you use it in the EU, is that Freedomia probably doesn't have that MiCA license. If you then use a VISA card in Europe without your real name and you are identified somehow ... then only time will tell what consequences that may have.
KYC is such a strange, megalomaniac concept. But it's real and implemented in the EU.

We went down to -170°. It's quite okay actually. Air has way less of an immediate effect on the body than water has, that's why you can go so low. So, cryotherapy is more accepted by e.g. elderly people for it's therapeutic effect. You stay dry, it's quick etc. The Wim Hot method has much more of a transformational effect for your life.

I signed up for this newsletter of the Krishnamurti Foundation ... 365 days curated, synthesising quotes by J. Krishnamurti in my inbox. Today's quote is particularly "Note"worthy ;) An aspect that's hardly considered let alone understood:
"As long as we are trying to achieve a psychological result, as long as we want inward security, there must be a contradiction in our lives. I do not think most of us are aware of this contradiction, or if we are, we do not see its real significance. On the contrary, contradiction gives us an impetus to live; the very element of friction makes us feel that we are alive. The effort, the struggle of contradiction, gives us a sense of vitality. That is why we love wars, that is why we enjoy the battle of frustrations. So long as there is the desire to achieve a result, which is the desire to be psychologically secure, there must be a contradiction; and where there is contradiction, there cannot be a quiet mind. Quietness of mind is essential to understand the whole significance of life."

I see. Since mnemonic generation was the weak point recently it's good to watch out ;) And for Spark, yeah fully agree, it's anyway best not to have enormous amounts in your Lightning wallet. I like to see Bitbox move forward. So many gave up with their Lightning offer (Relai etc). Let's see!

I tinkered with a free and open source keyboard setup on Android recently and by far the best option I found is 'HeliBoard' (on F-Droid). Amazing customization, looks great, and you can tweak auto-suggestions and corrections to your heart's desire.
It also goes well alongside an app called 'Offline Speech Input' (on Playstore/Aurora) which gives you astonishingly accurate and fast speech transcription input system wide. Everything happens locally with this Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 model.
This setup doesn't only replace Gboard and Google voice input for privacy. I think it makes it miles better.
Something to try ;)

There are countries in the world that practice consistent self-sabotage over at least the last ~10 years. I happened to live in two of them: Greece and Germany. I heard of others as well, and the UK seems to be part of that club, too.
For Greece 🇬🇷
- Crippling small and medium businesses with over-burdening regulation, taxes and social security, without meaningful benefit in return.
- Small and medium scale farming doesn't make economic sense. Farmers only do it for fun or are forced into non-organic mono-culture practices. They are being made dependent on intentional EU subsidies. While the EU is gracefully talking about protecting biodiversity etc.
- Land-owner rights are put into question for years stifling any meaningful investment.
- Public infrastructure is sold to foreign investors, even the most important industry of all, Greek tourism and cultural heritage.
- It's a guinea pig country for centralized administration and CBDC regulations in Europe, cash payments are already restricted to a few hundred EUR ... the list goes on.
For Gernany 🇩🇪
- Energy, economic and environmental policies are highly moralistic, but make little to no sense in practice, to the detriment of what the German industry and culture used to stand for.
- War monger wolves in sheep skin making German foreign policy, for the "common global good".
- German press is bathing in intellectual self-righteousness, while oblivious to the obvious demise.
For the UK 🇬🇧
- Eroding formerly sacred human rights such as free speech.
- Tax and finance regulations drive wealth out of the country. All going mostly unnoticed by the general population who's eagerly looking for scapegoats left and right.
There's more in other countries, too, especially in the EU. That's just what I allow myself to have an opinion on. After all I have learned about the 'nobleness' of Western democracy in my youth, it is highly bizarre to see this happening in front of our eyes.
More argumentation only leads to more confusion and antagonism. A shift in consciousness is what's needed. But the survival instincts are already starting to take over and things are running their course.
There's lots of good stuff happening as well, don't get me wrong: Spiritual healing and understanding is on the rise, Bitcoin, Nostr, open source freedom tools and community-building are on the move ... but the divide and confusion sometimes is sickening.
Keep your heart, mind and body healthy and sane out there. Be free 🧡

Our human body is much more than just binary biological code, because our DNA can apparently adapt to expanded states of consciousness and with it tune into ever more frequencies of 'reality' .... which purely mechanically run hardware cannot.
Have a look at Gregg Braden's book "Pure Human" and the many podcasts where he goes into this (Joe Rogan, Andre Duqum etc). He's a geologist and software engineer himself.
But I agree with you, with the technology underway + spiritual awakening of more people than so far in our known human history, aging way past 100 gracefully looks very possible.

Indeed, I practice and teach the Wim Hof Method and Wim Hof breathing ticks all the boxes for a potential endogenous DMT release, yes! Apparently it has been challenging so far to scientifically prove a direct link with increased DMT levels, BUT:
"The Wim Hof Method combines specific breathing with cold exposure and mental focus. It typically involves 30-40 deep breaths followed by breath retention until the urge to breathe returns, followed by a deep inhalation with brief holding.
Research has documented remarkable physiological effects, including voluntary influence over immune response. While not explicitly focused on DMT release, the method creates conditions that could influence endogenous compounds. [...]
Many practitioners describe experiences remarkably similar to DMT effects:
- Visual imagery, from geometric patterns to complex scenes
- Sensations of energy moving through the body
- Altered perception of time and space
- Encounters with seemingly autonomous presences
- Access to what feels like more profound knowledge
- Dissolution of identity boundaries
These experiences typically emerge after 15-30 minutes of sustained breathwork and may last throughout the session."

This is exactly where awareness, and human consciousness expansion comes in. First it's techniques/methods, such as Wim Hof method, Vipassana meditation, ayahuasca etc. Which keep their untuition sharp, so that they can discern nonsensical actors on social media. Then after some time what'll remain is pure awareness. This can be shown, but not "educated" in the traditional sense. Humans have to discover that by themselves, have to get to know themselves, gently guided by those who are already on that journey since a while. It's already happening. But the scale of it will become much larger.

So, I gave CryptPad a try ... and as with so many office suites it majorly struggles with text input on mobile. For example, the on-screen keyboard randomly disappears and doesn't come back. You need to close and reopen the tab constantly. CryptPad's text editor in the browser is based on OnlyOffice. And the dedicated OnlyOffice app on Android is also unusable currently, due to mega laggy text input, so I'm not surprised. That's why I'm quite impressed with AndrOpen Office which just works fast and is intuitive. It's not a cloud editor though, sure.

I don't drink much coffee anymore. But it if I do, it's a decaf and I still wanna make it a desert and add a bit of sugar ;)
So, if you finally want to stop that ... I found that a foxy way is to put your tiny bit of crystal cane sugar inside anyway. And then just don't stir. Drink it up and don't slurp the sirup at the bottom. Voilà, after a few times - and if you don't eat other sugary things - you get used to the taste without sugar.
In the end it's all about subtle body and mind awareness though, with tricks or without.

Even before I read your post, I was actually considering not to upgrade, considering the changes announced for Android 17 in terms of app permissions, file system etc. So, I'm thinking to wait and see how things fair and only follow suit when stuff is ironed out.

As far as I see CryptPad doesn't allow for editing files offline. In order for files to be used outside the CryptaPad context they would need to be exported and downloaded first. The editing software is only CryptPad in the browser. However, it has the collaboration feature going for it. It's a strong option and I'm glad to hear it's working well. In my current situation, I prefer the portable SSD setup though.

No, I haven't come across this yet. It actually looks great on paper. Would need some testing, but great rrcommendation especially if you are keen to keep the collaboration feature which is not there in my setup 🙏🏼

Wow, I see! Well, there's a reason it was abandoned ;) Guess they didn't have the time and energy to put work into it anymore. Nostria surprised me yesterday, it got much better.

I'm using a stand-alone Windows right now. But everything I described works on Linux, too. Linux became so much better and more stable lately. So, if I would start setting my workplace up today, I'd recommend Linux and try something like PopOS.

Ah, really?! I was wondering when the first of that kind would show up. Fantastic! I'm pretty satisfied with my current setup now, as you can imagine ;) But I can give Nostr contacts a spin and let you know. It's not on any app store yet, is it?

Alrighty! There's big potential to use Nostr for that, absolutely. I'll have a look at PosterChan 🤙 I used Pages and Calendar by Formstr for a while. They build on Nostr as well. But it wasn't mature enough yet, too many basic features are still missing. But if you can keep on building and AI is speeding things up, Nostr as the base layer for productivity would be sweet.

What it takes to replace those sticky Google/Apple/Microsoft multi-device workspaces with privacy-focused, open source apps without giving up on convenience (for a single user on Android, Linux, Windows):
- Contacts and Calendar: EteSync with Etar, Fossify Contacts, Thunderbird
- Notes: Joplin
- Tasks and project management: Super Productivity
- Office Suite: OpenOffice, OnlyOffice, AndrOpen Office amd a portable SSD
Have a read 😉👇🏼

Hehe, yes, I see thanks! I just used Nostria to publish my article ... and it worked really well! So, there are good alternatives. Just a little sad to see some of the OG tools fading out.

What happened to Habla News? It was my favorite clean Nostr editor for long-form articles. But the site isn't accessible anymore. Does anybody have news? @nprofile…yza0

The only issue with the Daylight Computer is that instead of enjoying my amazing window view, I want the light in my back, so I can see best on the screen. Minor inconvenience by design 😉 Totally opposite to how we use normal backlit screens ... fascinating!

Another plus aspect for Nostr for me is that because there's no given algorithmic structure, you also don't have to show up regularly for your posts to be distributed widely. You can take a break and you won't be punished for it. Because who should tell you how often you have to 'work' on what? That sounds like the old 9-5 employment structure most of us wanted to break free from. So even in that aspect, Nostr breathes freedom on a different level than 'just' censorship resistance and decentralization.

Vipassana for 10 years now, first 10-day course was 2016 in Brazil. Wim Hof since about 7 years. And I dive into and also translated Krishnamurti teachings since 2019, after I visited the center in Varanasi, India. That was quite the influential trip back then ;)

Using video on Nostr is still a drag, just can't get it to upload (yes, it may be a Primal issue). So, yet again a YouTube link until better times ;)

When you think you have no stress, feel again!
We often don't realize how latently stressed we actually are, although we think we are relaxing.
How is that possible? Because our awareness of body and mind in our day and age of over-information is low. We think too much and simply forgot how to feel and trust ourselves.
Here I talk about how to tell whether I'm in a relaxed, open, and clear state of being or still tense. During my ever ongoing journey to get to know myself, I found three time proven methods that help me sharpen awareness and trust: Vipassana, Wim Hof method, and self-reflection on the basis of Jiddu Krishnamurti.
