Harlequin is pleased & dreadful
to announce a new service delivering zombies to the needful, to the lonely hearts, to those who don't have company.
For a low monthly price of $66.60, you can get the corpse of your dreams, shambling erratically, screaming, clawing at your mercilessly, just like your ex used to after a night at the pub.
Harlequin, because you can't spell necromancy, without romance.

There should be a service that comes by your house & web site every week & updates you to the latest socially approved products, services, or entertainers, & scrubs away any traces of last week's Two Minutes Hate target.
You sure don't wanna offend anyone by continuing to stan Shania Twain or use Nintendo past their cultural moment.

Reminder: Until very late 1970s, there were only two kinds of people.
Big people with bobbleheads, faces, and noodly arms that bend in 2 or 3 places.
Or tiny people with no faces or arms, but you could put a 1x2 plate in as a belt.

But all I can think of is the Shovel from Mythic Quest. Get some mundane gear & you can make a very minor change in the world! … until the asshole lead dev turns it into a whole EPIC THING.

Overly complicated dream. My house was all moving rooms, mostly closing down space. But if I went out & did a fight or trick, I could open one of 8 pods & get a piñata which, in addition to candy & toys, had a key or power module to roll the room back.
I think now this is a bad way to automate your house.

Speaking of this current fiasco. The idea that I have to "update" an iOS app because there's a new device I'm not even vaguely interested in, in fact I laugh in the general direction of; annoys the fuck out of me.
There should be no reason to update an app, maybe every year or so when you have new stuff for it, but otherwise make your shit work once. If there's a new device, great, ship for that. Nobody else should have to care.
But updates are so badly broken, every week, everything updates!

I hate these up wrong hours nights. I finally got enough sleep & food, but I'm still cranky & unwell-feeling because I'm 8 hours off from when I should be.
More X-Files, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musings_of_a_Cigarette_Smoking_Man
which I think is weird since it doesn't bring up Nixon, who was the instigator for a lot of the shit his historical coutnerparts did, & it's such a goofy take on an old assassin.

I been reading the later parts of Warren Ellis' Planetary comics, which I tooted a panel of this morning, but haven't thought about a lot for like 20 years. Back when "it's a strange world, let's keep it that way" was optimistic, before we found out we were in the shit timeline run by supervillains.
Got, for no particular reason for or against, some Herbie Hancock on.
Now if the weasels in my spine will stop playing tag, I can get back to normal-ish?

ALSO, when people are talking about "Do Not Build the Torment Nexus", it is not clever or morally superior to condemn people for doing so. The entire fucking point of the book is you should not build it, as noted in the title.
<deep breaths>
You're so lucky I don't have a Torment Nexus or I'd have a big list of people to put in it.

<conversation about a book & adaptations>
Me: The parts I like are mostly those not included in the adaptation.
<conversation about that>
Guy: That's bait!
<conversation goes on>
Guy: I repeat that's bait!
Guy, if you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to. Door's to the left, you know?

Oh it turns out the Celsius energy drink I guzzled a couple of yesterday have 270mg caffeine each, which even for me is a pretty serious dosage, which explains why I didn't sleep until very late & now I'm up and head throbbing.
Guess I'll have another one now.

Kids. The '80s were a hell of a drug.
Last night I dreamed about '80s Saturday morning cartoons, then dream-wrote another mini-RPG.
So I've cleaned it up enough to show something, so I don't forget it. No system yet, but this is what my brain is doing when I'm out:

I'll probably finish it up with bits of my Portal Bandits game & stuff like that.
