Weren't some public drop boxes torched by MAGA idiots in the last election? Seems like even those aren't a surefire way to get your vote counted..

That's going to be an interesting lawsuit..
And I'm seriously conflicted how to feel about this issue.. one one hand, there's no real human being hurt if it's AI generated, but on the other hand, we don't know whether harm was inflicted to get the material the AI was trained on. (and that the whole consumption of such material is disgusting, but that's less a legal and more a psychological issue).

I didn't like the concept of everysite and their dog pushing for Passkey authentication. While the crypto concepts behind them may be sound, the practical implementations were expected to suck.. and they turned out doing so.

I feel sad for the White House.. sure, the courts may have stopped the building of the ballroom, but the bulldozers have already done the damage.. not to mention the rose garden that he hard turned into a concrete terrace.
Going to cost a lot of money to put it back into any remotely period-correct state once Mango Mussolini has been removed..

I've considered such ideas, but since the spammers use open relay servers all over the world, it's not very effective.

I've mostly given up on tools like rspamd/spamassassin etc.. so many newsletters and info mails from legit companies score higher on those than the actual blackmail/scam/malvertisement mails.
I'm currently trialling a sort of whitelist.. since 95% of all legit mails contain my name somewhere, I'm filtering on that to go into the regular inbox, everything else goes to spambox by default. Far less effort so far to pick out the few wrongly accused ones.

I'm at about 1-2k copies of the same email *per day* for a few weeks now. (although a different one than yours, mine doesn't have the weird unicode replacements).
The amusing part is that they call me a pervert, even though *they* allegedly recorded me fapping. (when none of my PCs have a webcam, mind you..)

I need help identifying a vintage connector..
does anyone have an idea what this 12-pin plug is called, or can provide me with a link to the appropriate counterpart (or even have one at hand to sell me)?
This is on a Siemens paper tape reader, ca. 1960, originally meant to be connected to a Gretag Tape Sender.
Boosts appreciated :-)

the thing I'm wondering about is the amount. Most people I talked to receive a handful of those every now and then. According to my filter log I'm currently at ~1k a day. And all of them go to either my generic devnull@ trash collector, or the one I used for Tunngle signup about two decades ago, no others.. even though the usual "leak" collections would have many more of my emails. I don't get it.

I don't get what the person who came up with the current concept was thinking.. the only real solution that I can imagine, is setting a flag *at posting time* "can be quoted / can not be quoted". Everything else is useless in the fast and mostly-ephemeral nature of social media.

no, people are voting in accordance with what the media and the government tells them. and looking at US media, about 80% of all EV-related content is lies paid for by the oil industry and/or Gleichschaltung dictated by the White House.
It's not like any manufacturer tried to force buyers into EVs, they all (except Tesla) have gas powered vehicles still in great supply.

I don't really get what takes you to that conclusion.. if people can drive to a gas station once a week to fill up, why can't they drive to a DC charger once a week instead?
I can't refill my petrol car at home *at all* (unless you count carrying jerrycans around), while even without a garage or driveway of my own, I can still find a solution to drag an extension cable to the car to slow-charge at home.
Also, since many grocery chains are adding chargers, just refill while shopping..

The common argument seems to be "but we made printers and copiers block printing money", without understanding that this only works because we put an easily recognizable pattern into our money which a printer or copier can look for. There is no such common design pattern in gun parts.

Also, forced breakups of companies, especially in tech, don't really work. While the idea may be that customers get more choice who to buy services from, I am very afraid that it would go wrong in the same way as the Bell breakup did, where one geographic region is now served exclusively by Noogle, the other by Zoogle and the third one by Froogle. No gain in choice, just more bureaucracy and cost, and an overall loss in service quality.

I've gone through pretty much the same.. wanted to try 3D printing but not spend a lot of money on it, so I grabbed an Ender3 clone in 2019. It turned out a rather high maintenance project (clogs, worn out bearings, cable fatigue), but so far I've gone through about 50kg (100lbs) of PLA and it's still working. Only recently started considering an upgrade, mostly because current models are so much faster and more accurate. I don't like Bambu for their filament roll ID crap though.
