I love the cinema, language, crafts, history, politics, UK culture and quirky things, photography, museums and historical sites. Luckily I live in London, lots of opportunities to go see things, learn stuff.
I'm learning Italian and French right now (and will share some phrases I like and want to remember, via #FrenchPhrase, and may do #ItalianPhrase too). I first joined Mastodon in 2022.

If you want to follow me, please use your profile to tell the world a bit about yourself, thank you.

Gosh that fox came across as tame or just supremely unbothered. It trotted towards me, made a slight swerve as I stepped closer to the pedestrian crossing, and then went past me within a meter of me. In the London urban area, not on the outskirts. Blimey. They must have worked out that humans don't usually do anything to them, and actually get out of their way. The foxes I saw in the past were a lot more skittish.

Can anyone imagine maga people to go with that? I can't.

I heard of three-cornered leeks but didn't know what they look like.

I feel it also depends on the general attitude we were brought up with, what we're used to. If we feel it's acceptable that everyone contributes to the common good (like I think many Europeans feel), then we don't see taxes as necessarily bad. But it feels like people in the US have much more of a "what's in it for me" attitude, also not seeing that common good includes good for them.
But I have to acknowledge that lower earners are often more burdened by taxes than the wealthy.

Canada sounds perfect! I wouldn't go to the US either, not while the blight in the White House is around.
Canada must be a huge country, I'm sorry that I don't know much about it (same with US), I don't travel much.

Great news that you could get the right pole replacement! It's never very satisfactory when you have to make do.

You're spot on! That's a great way of describing it. I like this bridge a lot as well, just a shame that the nearest entrance is often closed, I don't get to walk along there very often. Nice photo.

Is Sunday considered the first day of the week in the US? I find that really weird because it's clearly the last day of the week, and you totally get to relax. That's my view and I'm sticking with it.
Have a fabulous Sunday!

It's incredibly disappointing to not get the support. On the other hand maybe it's a case of beware who to ask? If someone who doesn't usually read/doesn't want to make the time, wrote a review after all that you wrung out of them, it could be something you wish they hadn't written? If it's of the "it was ever so interesting, but..." variety. I don't speak from experience but I could image that some reviews just wouldn't be very useful. I hope you get great contributions!

Wow. Three months? I'm blown away: one person's spidey sense stopped it, that's inspiring!
And that's great training: trust your hunches. I wish lots of places built that into their infosec training.

Getting on with my EPP hexagon quilt: I decided to baste the backing fabric onto the batting and top layer to avoid puckers as much as possible.
It's a right pain. I swear I've already done two hours, I'm not even half way through... Yikes. My back hurts too.
Was trying to use lots of pins but that won't do the job.
At least I get to listen to podcasts, that keeps me entertained.
