This is the dumbest decision ever if they actually wanted open source software.
Not like it will make a damn bit of difference. But still.
I didn’t throw away all of them. I’m just realizing that the imagined situation where I needed 5 of them is very unlikely to come to pass, if I hadn’t needed even one in like 15 years
Granted RCA is easy as shit. Just strip some wire and stick in into the plugs on either end and match the color. Shit will basically work 😂
I have money on less than 10 😂
Don’t worry I’ve still got 2 more 😂
What I’m throwing away from my “extra cables, wiring tools, and accessories” stash…
My bag finally closes all the way 😆

Not crypto and of course the system will try to consume it - because most people measurement is the system.
In a free market you'd probably be able to sell your claim to the seat on that particular flight for a small discount.
Anyway, see you in Ams! ;)
Every movement/change starts with one and grows as more see it in themselves.
Yes - and I think you’ll enjoy my upcoming presentation at Mita in talks when it lands. EVERY action measuring this system from fiat - imports fiat physics. (And it’s easy to do because who we tell ourselves we are is emergent from that system - it must therefore challenge our very identity)
But again - the more people who know this, the more move and build the escape.
The invariant only stays invariant while bitcoin stays decentralized. That’s why it’s so important to use, build on, create privacy, run nodes, etc etc. We (humanity) will win because as long as there are enough those who know…..they will build the path. That’s what is happening here and elsewhere.
I don’t believe that those who use the word capitalism to fight for their side understand that it isn’t what they think it is under broken money.
I don’t belief that those who use socialism to fight for their side understand that it isn’t what they think it is under broken money.
2 doors entering the same room (global conflict and a surveillance state) with both sides so sure in their beliefs that they make the walls of the rooms close faster on them.
If the free market is an infinite game and we have never lived in a global free market, wouldn’t the words we use to describe our past…..just be different versions of a zero sum game.
Bitcoin is the only thing that can escape the control system because it is the only thing outside of it.
With all of the AI attacks on centralized financial institutions and what comes next to keep you locked inside, it is a good thing that exit ramps already exist to keep you, your money, and your communications safe.

I have an iPhone and a CalyxOS pixel 6. iPhone is still my main.
I use all the privacy and custom stuff, but i almost invariably use it alongside "normie" alternatives that I think produce good products. I use my Zorin linux and my Macbook in comparable amounts. I think of the custom/self-host setups as insurance and "extra capable" tools to help me avoid the pitfalls and restrictions of "normie" products. But I use them exactly to the degree that they help me concretely. I don't much care for "signaling" one way or the other like its an ideological choice. It's a practical and security one.
For the same reason, I intend to have a self-driving car in the not-too-distant future possibly. But I'll own one alongside a striped down, modified gas clunker that has no stock computer anything but instead has only what device i decide would make it better under my control and my software (granted my self driving car may very well be the same one based on the next few years with Comma.ai and competitors in that field. So it may not be the perfect example). One is for convenience, the other is for control.
Sometimes the convenient and "my control" option lands totally in the "normal product" space or the "full self hosted" space. On those occasions I don't get a backup. But generally speaking my stack is almost *always* a combination. And on that note I did test graphene, but have no immediate reason to switch from CalyxOS with my main android because I'm just using it for app testing and the apps I'm building myself. Then its also my business phone.
So the next time you are wondering which direction I chose. The answer is most likely "both."
Me:
[turns off auto because he doesn’t trust his agent to go wild]
Agent: “I need to perform this long and difficult to read command and navigate to a bunch of external folders.”
Approve ✅ or Reject ❌
Me:
[Doesnt actually read the script… approves anyway]
“Thank god for those approval guards keeping me safe.” 😂
Easter eggs. Well spotted.
starting now!

“I’m not even a builder of energy grids”
I love how Bitcoin and freedom tech have guided our thinking and philosophy of how the world could work to the point that these two are applying open markets to energy grids. What a timeline. Great rip. 🧡

Random act of kindness. Just had an 80 year old man wait for me outside of Whole Foods to give me a hug and thank me for what I do.
Easy to focus on the bad in the world today but there sure is a lot of good too.
Bytes, electricity, water and FREE beer!🍺 Free as in freedom, ofcourse...
We've learned so much in the last year or so about networks, micropayments and what TollGate fundamentally IS. Part of that journey has been that TollGate can be used for anything that streams, not just bytes. And it also led us to the creation of FIPS, which is an important part of our redesign.
We now have a way more modular approach that can fit different setups, centered around one TollGate protocol for streaming value for delivery of a resource.
Please join our Community call to hear more about it!
🇳🇱 We'll also be running a fleet of TollGates at @Bitcoin Amsterdam in a few weeks!

Awesome work man!
You might wanna check on napplets too, the amount of games seems to be exploding now
Yeah the speed at which software can just be "regenerated" by a model and customized. I just think software is fundamentally changing from its previous nature. The overwhelming majority will be hard to charge money for, it will move to commoditized services and provision of resources, software will only be the portal to it and we will have as many selections as we need. Everything will shift to protocols and schema standards and APIs, etc. Although the secret will be in hiding all of it from the average user.
Maybe "open source" isn't really the thing, but the fact that it will be free and extremely customizable. But if that continues to trend in that direction then not being open source doesn't change much either way so it almost seems like "why not?" But I obviously could be wrong, just feels like there is a massive shift in the economics of software underway and I may be projecting what I *hope* it means rather than seeing the reality of where the market will find the gap.
ah yeah here it's the other way around ;)
I can't reach your device. I also ran a 'fipsctl probe npub1..20pr'. It says your node doesn't show up in any of the bloom filters, meaning it's probably not getting any healthy peers. (Even if your DNS/TUN isn't working , it should at least show up in the bloom filters for me)
fipsctl probe @npub1pqp…20pr
probe npub1pqp4...20pr
npub @npub1pqp…20pr
node_addr b18a6e45a905c288449c00fbc16c8c9a
ipv6 fdb1:8a6e:45a9:5c2:8844:9c00:fbc1:6c8c
bloom failed 0.2s no peer filter holds this address
cleanup nothing to clean up
overall failed, 246 ms (stage timings quantized to the 1000 ms tick)
Targeting plain IPv6 won't help you. For FIPS to be able to route IP traffic you MUST first hit the embedded DNS server at :5354. Most likely your system is not hitting the DNS server. On mobile it'll need to be allowed to be your VPN. On android it sometimes has issues with other apps claiming an 'always on' VPN slot.
I'm not familiar with how it works on iOS
Hey no it's down. if you need a quick browser test (http page) you can try this one, it's always™ up.
