Apple has identified third-party AI apps and partnerships as potential sources of revenue growth, without announcing a specific program or commercial model. On Monday’s earnings call, CFO Kevan Parekh said AI could encourage customers to upgrade or switch devices and create opportunities involving both outside developers and Apple’s own products.
The remarks come as App Store commissions face legal and regulatory pressure and mobile gaming remains weak. Parekh said third-party App Store apps recorded double-digit growth in paid subscriptions, while Apple expects overall services revenue to grow 8–9% in the December quarter. Investors are considering whether distributing AI agents could generate commissions, according to Reuters, but Apple has not confirmed such a plan.

🔖 Title: Major Banks Ring the Recession Alarm
🗓️ Published: 2026-11-03T04:00:00.000Z
📄 Summary: Leading Australian banks CBA, NAB, and HSBC have downgraded their economic outlooks amid ongoing challenges such as rising interest rates, inflation pressures, and declines in housing prices and turnover. CBA’s head of Australian economics, Belinda Allen, has notably cut the GDP growth forecast to a mere 1.0% for 2027, signaling the possibility of another per capita recession. These revisions highlight growing concerns about the economic trajectory in Australia.
