West Major

Imagine Thanksgiving in the Sonoran desert, but it’s a western shirt.
That’s how this one makes me feel.
It’s a brushed cotton, herringbone. Light weight. Super soft. Dark brown.
Will be dropping next week 🌵

One of the biggest unlocked and time savers I’ve found so far using AI has been automating the calculation of my cost of goods.
Because we cut and sew in America, nothing is vertically integrated.
We source every single raw material that goes into our shirts, all from different vendors.
Buttons, snaps, fabric, fusing, washing the fabric, cutting the fabric, the freight / shipping around all those materials and processes - and the cutting and sewing.
And then, some of those materials get used across multiple shirts - some are shirt specific. Then multiple this across 10-20 different shirts, all coming in at different times throughout the year.
By the time a finished shirt lands, it was such a mess trying to go back and figure out what our true cost is for a finished shirt.
Now it takes about 10 min, it’s exact, and then publishes it to Shopify for me. Stress free.
Tools like this, make complicated, expensive, lower margin businesses - like making American made western shirts - SO much easier and less complex.
I love ai

We just got an order for a Desert Chore Coat in Brown Canvas.
These things are awesome.
American made duck canvas. Cut and sewn in Arizona. The thing is covered in pockets.
And it’s a super simple and clean design.
We got about 20 left!

Our best-selling heavy-weight corduroy colors are back for the holidays.
This is the heaviest shirt we make. 100% cotton. 8 oz. 14 wale corduroy. Cut and sewn in the U.S.A.
We made some slight upgrades from last year: heavier duty snaps, replaced the button the sleeve placket with a snap for easier access, bigger collar, and a custom corozo button on the collar stand.
These will sell out by the end of the year. But we’ve got them in stock right now.

We’re bringing back two of our best selling shirts and colors in West Major history - the heavy weight cord in Oak and Turquoise.
They’re getting finished now - and will be in stock / shipping by next Friday the 16th.
This is the heaviest shirt we make, and we only make it around the holidays. If you want to reserve one now to lock in your size - they are live on the website, and the pre-orders are open.
We also added a few new small details - bigger collar, a snap on the sleeve placket (plus new heavier duty snaps) and a new custom corozo button on the collar.
Cut and sewn in the U.S.A. 🌵

Our Copper Houndstooth Flannel is live. 100% cotton. Cut and sewn in America.
We only had enough fabric to make roughly 10 of these. We’ve got about 3-4 slots left before we have to close it. If you want to snag one, do it now 🫡

Tomorrow at 9am PST - we’re releasing a new flannel - the Copper Houndstooth. First, we’ve only got about 26 yards of this fabric. So we should be able to get about 13-15 shirts. Because of that, we’re going to release it via pre-order, so we only make the sizes that you guys want.
Delivery will be fast - it should only take about two weeks to make them.
About the fabric - 5.5 oz, 100% cotton houndstooth. Yellow, gold, copperish colors. Goes excellent with blue jeans.
If you’ve purchased our previous houndstooth - this fabric has a slightly denser weave (not as loose and gauzey). Insanely soft. And what I’ll be wearing weekly this winter.
Join our email list if you want to be first in line (we will send it there first, a little early)

I’d love to find a creative director for West Major one day. Someone that can own and execute the entire visual output for the brand across web, organic, email and ads.
If that person existed, I’d love to give him / her ad concepts like the below, and so go!!!
https://blossom.primal.net/a30ef958aeb4c66ff9220f9897919d002cc6195f05613e3cf7d111bd0cfa74ec.png

2026-09-18 04:37:13 UTC

I have random thoughts throughout the day around why I’m doing west major - usually stemming from bad things happening, things being hard, questioning why I’m doing it, etc.
And I go back to a handful of ideas. There’s probably a perfectly crafted mission statement that captures these, but I have yet to figure out how to properly articulate it.
I thought maybe today id just start jotting them down as sort of core beliefs / reasons why we exist. It’s a list for now, more than one sentence.
The list isn’t done. But I think the first one is this -
1. The physical world today needs less slop.
we don’t need more disposable, forgettable, soulless temu product. We need fewer better, thoughtfully designed and made things that inspire us, are beautiful to look at, and add meaning to our lives.
Short and sweet.
So anyway, this is one of the reasons I like to think we exist. I want less slop, more beautiful cool things, and I’d like to think that’s something we’re striving for / trying to add into the world.

2026-09-17 21:59:32 UTC

The answer is yes. Absolutely. Always.
We can’t compete on price - but will do everything in our power to fix your garment, should something happen. The goal is that you own / wear them forever

My favorite tees are by Jungmaven - they have a few fits. My favorite is the Jung Tee - their stuff is an organic cotton / hemp blend. So not 100% cotton. But the hemp adds a bunch of good attributes. They are also very relaxed / drapey (feel more like a worn in vintage tee) which I love. But a lot of guys prefer a super thick / heavy sturdy tee. Both are great but I like a more relaxed feel. Also these are cut / sewn in LA

NOSTR. We’re running a border line psychotic sale on two of my favorite shirts - the Houndstooth Flannel.
Normally $235 (one of the most expensive shirts we’ve ever made). Now $125.
USE THE CODE: NOSTRFALL26
This a capital intensive business. Especially making our shirts in America. We’ve got a bunch of new shirts for the fall we’re making right now, and some big invoices around the corner. The other day, I found myself staring at a Shopify loan, debating if I’ll need to take it. And not feeling great about it.
And I was looking at this loan, and the absolute shark of an interest rate that comes with it, I looked over, and saw we have a nice stack of these flannels left from last winter. About 85.
And then I thought… why not just put these on sale, get them out there and on the backs of more people to enjoy them, and then we can use those funds to pay for our next drop, and stay healthy as a business.
We can’t run sales like this often. But every now and then, I think it’s okay to do. We’re learning, growing, and figuring this out in real time.
These flannels are 100% cotton, around 6 oz in weight (not too heavy), and are one of the softest materials I've ever felt. Cut and sewn in the U.S.A.
These will be final sale - but if you need a different size, we can help with you an exchange, no problem.
My long term mission and dream is to make the highest quality, most badass western wear possible, for men, in the U.S., with the coolest materials I can find. And to provide a quality product to men. That makes them feel great. Confident. And a little more western. We have a long ways to go. But we’re getting there. Thank you for your support and helping me build our brand on NOSTR 🌵🇺🇸

Hmmm I wish I knew what the chest size was on that shirt… In a lot of brands like Levi’s or Wrangler, our XXL is more comparable to their XL.
If the XL in Levi’s is a little tight in the chest - I’d maybe start with / try the XXL in ours!

- Heavy-Weight Corduroy in Navy or Brown
- Railroad Stripe Flannel
Both 100% cotton, and cut and sewn in the U.S.A.
We had 54 sent back to us from a wholesale account that closed (we took them back to help out). They were intended for wholesale, so we’re just going to resell them at the wholesale price. Once this code has been used 54 times (it’s already been used about 20 times), it will end and we’ll go back to selling our inventory at full price.

Love or hate em, Palantir has gone viral recently in the apparel space for making cool gear / merch. They do “drops” almost like an apparel brand. Some of their hoodies are being resold on eBay for $200-$300.
I think there’s a cool movement / opportunity for brands to make really awesome merch and products. For their own store, for employees, or for vendors as gifts. Imagine going to conference, and instead of getting a pen with some companies name on it, you get a premium 100% cotton American made western shirt, with your logo chainstitched above the pocket 😆
We recently got an opportunity to pitch UT on making them something custom American-made western shirts (we’re still waiting to hear back), but I wanted to share a few photos from the deck I made with some concepts.
If anyone here is interested in some custom American made western shirts for their organization- let me know! We can make you something badass that no one else has, and no one will throw away.

Ending the year on a high note. If anyone’s been watching the new Landman Season 2 - the shirt Cooper (Jacob Lofland) is wearing throughout episode 4 is a custom West Major shirt we made for the show.
Taylor Sheridan came across our brand through a store that carries us in Fort Worth (he loved it). That led to his team reaching out, and asked us to make them some shirts for the show.
First time seeing one of our pieces on the big screen. Pretty awesome.
Thank you to everyone that’s supported us this year - we sold a record number of shirts, grew and learned a lot.
We’re doing something almost none of these other western brands are doing - which is sewing our shirts in America. It’s not easy, and we appreciate everyone that’s been riding with us.
We’re running it back in 2026, and have some exciting things in the works. HAPPY NEW YEAR 🤘🌵

The houndstooth pattern dates back to 18th century Scotland. Apparently was originally made / worn by Shepards. People thought the little broken check looked like a dogs tooth - so it eventually got the name houndstooth. It was basically OG scottish workwear.
Then in the early 20th century, high end tailors and fashion brands started using it. And now we often associate it with super nice coats, pants, etc. Often woven with wool.
We made it into a western shirt. Ours is 100% cotton. And it feels awesome.

New Chore Coat we’re going to run next. It’s a herringbone denim. Light weight. Soft. Seems somewhat basic, until you look close.

The messy truth about making a western shirt in America.
When we receive a box of 300 finished western shirts from our factory in L.A. , you’d think - this is awesome. I can throw them on my website, and start selling! Yay!
NOT THE CASE 😀
Woven shirt manufacturing has largely left the U.S. The skilled labor that can do it - isn’t really here anymore. So when you find a factory that “can” do it - you’re often not getting a perfect product back, ready to ship (unless you’re okay shipping an imperfect product - which I’m not).
So instead, we have to inspect each shirt, spec them, trim, iron, fold, bag and tag - ONE AT A TIME - before we can put it on a shelf, and it’s ready to ship to a customer.
A good junk of my time is spent in a room like this, going through shirts, hunched over an ironing board for days. Putting the good ones in one pile, putting the bad ones on the other, with detailed notes, to go back to the factory.
This is one of many reasons why most clothing businesses don’t manufacture here. They don’t want to deal with nightmares like this. Many factories here don't care sadly. You have to grind on them, relentlessly, to improve the product. It's like moving a giant cruise ship from factory hell.
Just getting a perfect quality shirt made, with zero issues, at scale - again and again - isn’t possible today, and what I'm trying to achieve / solve at the moment.
But we’re holding the line. Year after year, putting pressure on our factory to keep improving - and they are.
Two years ago, they struggled with the sides of our pocket flaps. One side would be longer than the other. Now they’re perfect.
This little detail alone is such a huge win. Little by little, we eat the elephant one bite at a time.
The entire business is insane, and often times feels impossible. But the exciting thing is, IF we pull it off, we'll be one of the only ones in the world to make this product here.
