Hi please remember to vote in municipal elections (last day to vote in ours is tomorrow). Less than 50% (it's usually 35%) of eligible people vote, and rich people vote. Please reach out if you need any help at all voting. I can literally get you a ride to the polls if you need that. My DMs are open.
Local elections matter for encampment policies, abortion clinic permitting, housing policy, and cop policies.

okay here's my take though. I felt squicked typing "man whatever" into my terminal. it reminded me that I was not a man and made me feel excluded from the group the documentation was written for. honestly? not a huge deal but it was what we might these days call a microaggression.
so yeah I haven't run Linux for over a decade.

my #1 top piece of advice for anyone else struggling with shit is to aggressively mute shit that spikes anxiety. that shit that is completely out of your control and that you panic about. literally mute block whatever get it out of your screen time. this actually helps me do the shit i need to do to mitigate the anxiety source, counterintuitively.

the depressing amount of being upset about the state of the world gets me stuck in a laying down can't do anything state can't even hardly breathe. which is not conducive towards doing anything to improve society, not even somewhat.
the normal amount breaking through is like 'yes and remember that little thing you can do to move things in the right direction? let's put some stuff on the calendar to move that forward. let's send an email about it.'

2024-10-19 06:12:32 UTC
