There's just a lot of shit going on in Peru that I guess I gotta read more about...

I'm a huge fan of Peruvian food, but I'm somehow just now learning that there are *so" many dudes in that country named "Hitler"

Should probably be more discussion about all the horrors Oprah Winfrey has amplified
Satanic panic, Dr Oz, Dr Phil, multiple grifter psychics

Movies have led people living outside of New York City to believe that there are a bunch of alleyways in Manhattan, and there are literally like 2

2026-09-20 14:39:42 UTC

Saw someone point this out on bluesky, and it's pretty bonkers
When Medicaid work requirements kick in next year, you could probably get around them by finding any sporting event that is -110 on each side, open up separate sports betting accounts, bet on one team on one app, then bet on on the opposing team on the other
You'd have to bet around $1,290 once each half of the year. You'd win one side of each bet, and end up paying ~$120/year in fees for health insurance

That's the legacy, after 25 years

2026-09-12 02:19:04 UTC

Ultimately, the most important takeaway from 9/11 is there was a fail son (Bin Laden) who murdered a bunch of people, thinking something would happen within the US (that didn't happen), followed by another fail son (GW Bush) killing even more people in hopes it would do something that did not happen
Nothing really happened, politically. Only cost ~1 million lives

2026-09-05 06:42:28 UTC

The coolest thing about social media is it allows you to say to yourself, "I'm like 95% on board with this guy ideologically, and I wanna punch him in the fucking head because he is so annoying"

2026-08-22 14:50:43 UTC

I've said it before and I'll say it again
I am an advocate for gambling on sports, but it should take effort. You gotta know a guy who knows a guy who owns an auto repair shop and does bookie stuff on the side
You should not be allowed to do it on your phone

I once thought the phrase, "balls deep in ice cream" would take off, but it has been rejected by soooo many ice cream company marketing departments that lack vision
Only one option here: keep looking for other ice cream companies on the off chance that one will be reasonable

2026-08-15 01:55:22 UTC

There are a lot of confederate apologists in the US who are like, "the South woulda won the Civil War if they were better with logistics", and all those guys are now in charge of the US military

A lot of weird discourse around Bad Bunny from well-meaning liberals calling him "American"
First, I've never met a Puerto Rican person who claims to be "American"
Second, as someone living in NY--knowing Dominican people, and having Colombian family, it's bad news to cede ground to the worst people in the world by creating a hierarchy of Latin American immigrants

If the US still has a democracy by 2027-2028, it's gonna be so funny to watch AOC crush the Dem primaries
A lot of people seem to think she should run for Senate first, but whatever. Democratic consultants will fight for someone like Newsom or (hopefully Pritzker). The fact that Kamala lost sends a goofy message that a woman (specifically a woman of color) cannot win
These people are dopes, with no grasp on historical context. They do not remember how Obama won, less than 2 decades ago

I love where I live because it has the most interesting crimes
They sometimes film the network show "FBI" in my neighborhood, but occasionally a guy orders a shit ton of fertilizer and sets his house on fire and then FBI agents show up. And you never know whether someone is wearing a costume or a uniform
Either way, it keeps you on your toes

2025-05-23 01:38:27 UTC

Conflicted on Tom Cruise because I love so many of his movies, and so many of his actor friends are like, "he never forgets to send a coconut cake for Christmas"
But, man, scientology is so fucked up. I watched this show "Counterpart", and loved the performance from Nazanin Boniadi. She was pretty much groomed to be Cruise's wife after his divorce from Nicole Kidman, and eventually left the "church"

There could be a real discussion about the present grift in DEI initiatives
I've been present in corporate meetings where it's like, "feel free to express yourself", but if one employee were to be like, "I've lost family members in Palestine and I hate this company's support of ethnic cleansing", pretty sure that shit would end real quick
But instead, DEI is now just something right-wingers hijacked as code for, "they hired a black guy"
