Just binged the first season of **Widow's Bay** and it definitely hits on all cylinders for me. Feels like a hybrid of Lost and X-Files with very well written characters.
For a show with such a dark premise they did a good job contrasting it with light touches of subtle humor.
My old knock against it is that the next season is probably at least 2 years out!

Most memorable would be walking into the Valley of Heroes in Stormwind the first time and having the music hit. I just stood there listening and looking at the statues for a good 15 minutes soaking in all the ambiance.

> Then, this spring, she tried to do something on her own. She organized a small political event in Ohio called America First United, believing she could help spin Fuentes’s online movement into offline activism. But within hours of the first panel, the groypers turned on her, labeling it a disloyal attempt to undermine Fuentes’s leadership.
>
> To Fuentes, it was a coup. In messages to the roughly 100,000 subscribers of his Telegram channel, he intimated that she was part of a broad conspiracy to subvert him. “If all of these people are who they say they are,” he wrote, “why would they dedicate so much energy to knocking me off?”
>
> She was stunned by how quickly her fellow believers condemned her. Faceless X accounts with groyper slogans in their profiles and names such as bakedGroyper and ZoomerZane posted doctored images and cartoons showing her weeping or being strangled. Others rushed into the comment sections of her YouTube videos and wedding photos to call her a traitor, whore or spy. The people she’d catered her life and career to now seemed eager to destroy them both.
>
> “These people, they’re so vindictive, they’re so vicious,” Amy said one recent afternoon from the podcasting studio in her apartment, where she and her husband, Daniel DeBrincat, had hung a painting depicting Jesus cradling a modern man who held the hammer and nails of his crucifixion. One antagonist, she said, vowed to “continue harassing me ‘until I f---ing die.’”

> In the final weeks of 2019, a top fundraiser for Sen. Susan Collins walked into a perilous meeting at a Corner Bakery in Washington, D.C.
>
> For the first time in her two-decade Senate career, the Republican lawmaker from Maine was in danger of losing her seat. President Donald Trump’s dismal approval ratings were dragging her down in the polls, and she was falling behind her likely 2020 Democratic challenger in fundraising.
>
> Scott Reed, head of the Collins super PAC, was on a mission to close that gap. Reed was meeting that day with three executives from a Hawaiian defense contractor, Navatek. A year earlier, Collins had helped their company land a multimillion-dollar Navy research contract in Maine. Now, seated at a coffee shop not far from the U.S. Capitol, Reed asked them for a $500,000 donation.
>
> Government contractors are banned from making political contributions. More consequentially, for the company to offer donations to Collins in exchange for an official action, or for Collins to accept, would constitute criminal bribery.
>
> But the company did have such a proposal: Navatek was hungry for more government contracts in Maine. If they cut a big check, the CEO told Reed, Navatek wanted Collins to guarantee tens of millions of dollars in additional federal funding.
>
> To skirt campaign finance laws and conceal the source of the funds, Navatek planned to funnel the donation through a shell company. The CEO wanted assurance that Collins would know where the money came from. Reed confirmed that she would, the executive said — and that Navatek would get its government contracts.
>
> After the Corner Bakery meeting, Navatek’s CEO, Martin Kao, sent an initial $150,000 to the Collins super PAC using the shell company. Two months later, he told Navatek executives that Collins committed to getting the company $32 million in naval contracts, according to an internal company email reviewed by ProPublica.
>
> Three years later, Kao holed up in a conference room to recount the Corner Bakery meeting to a group of four FBI agents and federal prosecutors. The FBI had seen through his shell company ruse, and in 2022 a grand jury indicted him for making illegal campaign contributions. No one working for Collins was charged.

**Legends of the Hidden Temple** was the coolest gameshow I saw when I was a kid. It was kind of like a mix of history trivia and American gladiators like physical challenges.
The winning team got a chance to go on a timed run through an Eliminator-like obstacle course that was themed like an abandoned Mayan Temple where'd they'd have to solve puzzles and navigate the various physical challenges to win a big prize.
That show was fire AF. They should really bring it back.

I opposed childhood gender transitions, unlawful and divisive DEI mandates, and the excesses of Critical Race Theory. I argued against biological males competing in women’s sports and being housed in women’s prisons. I did so loudly and publicly, losing many friends along the way. My stance wasn’t rooted in hate or fear but in a commitment to reason and fairness. My loyalty was to the truth, not to political tribes. Maintaining my integrity cost me greatly, but I believed it was worth it.
