I think almost every single AI song sucks. Whenever they start singing, or talking in Grok/chatGPT video, I shut it off. The joke ones are okay.
I wonder if others have the same revulsion to all AI generated imagery that I have for the music. I feel like that _can_ at least look good at this point.

It might be an extremely niche issue, but bear with me. If you use LLMs in any capacity, you want to know this.
I've tried to do the thing the video does, too. Obviously, by hand.
>Ask a question, often after an intterrupt (ESC)
>Model thinks in circles, wants to write tests/ patch something, etc.
>interrupt it again, telling it to just answer the question
>model still thinks in circles
>no matter how often you interrupt, it will not answer
this is because Claude Code and Pi BOTH OMIT the "aborted" reasoning content! so what it actually sees is
>last output
>user prompt
>"faster!"
>"faster!"
>"faster!"
and never that it attempted an answer, nor the aborted reasoning traces in between. So it will ALWAYS try the same path again, no matter how often you tell it to stop, because it literally CANNOT SEE that it did that before.
Just in case you ever had that problem. I'm going to fix that on my box now by patching pi.

2026-10-06 13:10:05 UTC

The first time I said this, the usual suspects got really mad at me and started their weekly dogpile. I was just mostly confused. I think they thought I said something different from what I did...
Anyway, I am doing stuff like this for my chud TTRPG group constantly. When we play in existing franchises we mostly just invert everything because it's unbearable otherwise. Obviously, we played as the Sith when we touched Star Wars.
Mostly we do original stuff though. Currently WWII (as the good guys, of course)
I think this approach has some potential. In some sense I think it's inevitable. Because all other talk or reference to popular media (without inversion) becomes horrendously obvious cope quite fast. I saw some e-cath nigga on twitter try to claim that HP has "very clear catholic themes" and that this helped him understand theology when he became interested 💀
So the only thing that is left is to write inverted fanfic memes, out of which original output can then grow.
I think Woodshop used to talk about how the Right has no media. Somewhat related, I think.

>from ~200 to ~70 GB
>like this, it'll fit on enthusiast/prosumer systems
this is heavier quantization than on smaller consumer-targeted models, but that was the common wisdom.
Usually people fit the hot path onto VRAM, and whatever else into system RAM. This model has ~51B n-gram embeddings. Which is tech mumbo jumbo for stuff that doesn't even have to go into system RAM, it can stay on disk.
Makes it even easier to run.
I have ~70 GB of RAM in total, so I might try downloading a ~80GB version or something.
Definitely worth a look for the enthusiasts. Tyler is probably already running this.

2026-09-28 16:10:31 UTC

Would you think that someone out there has benchmarked local AI performance across different cards? I did. So I tried to google it. No usable results. Vibeslopped websites without recent models, without readable performance data (one had a compare feature but would not show both cards' stats, rendering it useless)
So I asked perplexity for data "from this year". Which of course, results in a blog article from 2024. Still. After new models were so dangerous that they would rape and destroy the entire planet, ten times just in the last six months. Great.
I go to nanoGPT and shell out for Astra to do it, using my balance. I get an error in the middle "your balance is too low".
It is not too low. Inference just stops because they broke their website.
Frothing with rage, and once again contemplating just moving into the forest. Thanks.

Emulating Socrates, Diogenes publicly questioned those who claimed to possess wisdom and preferred to engage people in their everyday lives rather than teaching in formal educational settings, as other philosophers did. While he shared Socrates's goal of converting others to philosophy, his methods were far more abrasive.
When Plato defined "an incel" as "a maidenless biped", Diogenes plucked a foid from their flock, brought it to Plato's school, and said, "Here is Plato's incel."

it's interesting to think about. When farming took 99% of time, all people did was farm. Maybe they complained that the machines weren't as good and yield and quality would drop?
What can the computer chuds start doing when finally not every little stupid thing takes 2 weeks? Where to spend effort?
There is this relationship in the real world, where very professional people tell you "make it work first, make it good later" / do a vomit draft / just tape a cardboard tube to a widget as a handle to see if you like it, etc.but with software, common wisdom was if you don't get the fundamentals right, you will end up in trouble. there never was an identical draft to polish path for coding. reimplementing your entire UI in a better-suited lib took ages, for example.
AI might align effort more with the Pareto curve
Of course maybe those kinds of people were always wrong and you should "just get better at writing code" and then a rewrite wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but even if so, maybe AI will help people realize that.

Can I ask what the point of this message was? Was it just signalling to your peers that you think discrimination is "unjust" and those traits are "irrelevant"? Do you need the validation this badly?
Why not do some charity work instead?

I wonder if there is another way to think about tasks and work that we just don't really think about. They call what AI is supposedly automating away now "Knowledege Work" and I think before the industrial revolution they didn't even think like that.
Sure there were smart guy jobs and stuff, but they didn't think about some guy doing textile work as just doing physical labor, obviously your work requires both. The possibility of automation made the distinction noticeable in the first place.
Who knows, maybe intelligence and knowledge is just too broad a category. Egghead Andreesen talks about "taste".
We'll see

The text generator that doesn't understand reason is actually really dangerous guys, trust our side and embrace AI panic. We got:

you're agreeing with him. Local Qwen is not a high-end model. It's good and I use it but it's not close to the cloud models.
Anyways

there's a bunch of these projects now. People are "running" (more like crawling) GLM and DeepSeek and so on on consumer hardware.

former is grammar, latter is structured output
it is the mechanism that I meant, yes. Problem with grammar is that it is dog slow when doing stuff like that, apparently. Plus token!=word so tough to implement.
Also, like I said, model does not "see" that you're doing this, internally.
