To make my point of view clear - I believe NATO should move into Ukraine and kick the Russians out. Ukraine should be made part of NATO _today_.
And the US should host nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
Call this fucking coward's lying bluffs and make it very clear expansionism isn't going to be tolerated.
Far too much cowardice all around.
China should be heavily sanctioned for their disgraceful support of a terrorist regime.

Utterly disgusting war crimes committed by Russia, they have no limits.
Never forget, China is totally fine with this and in fact without them Russia couldn't do this at all.
The Russian and Chinese people deserve better than the scum in charge.

I wish android had a global 'no it's fine I don't need wifi' option for when you have unlimited data on mobile and your actual wifi connection is a parody.
I mean I get it definitely, a lot of people have metered mobile data so a 'don't do this unless wifi' thing is a good idea a lot of the time, but so annoying when you live in a random place with dodgy internet like me.

oh wow that's awesome!
And yeah, if you root the phone, that tends to break such things unless you do naughty workarounds...
I've been on stock android for a while though so not sure how the environment is today.

if I'm completely honest, I've thought quite a bit about industrial meat grinders.
Less so these days though, kind of ever since I left the finance industry

pixel 9 pro fold, not sure about hackability at this point.
Suspect it's pretty custom across the board so I'd doubt lineageos would be good with it.
On security front google promise 7 years of security updates for this, in stock form obv.
I _might_ try to root at some point.
This form factor is so good though

maybe I'm a miserable git but reading that makes me want to find whoever wrote it and throw them into a giant industrial meat grinder

hey man I'm a linux kernel dev and I think redox os is cool.

2024-08-31 14:53:55 UTC

What's tiresome is that whenever a controversy in the kernel comes up, no matter how justified or not, the same thing happens.
The usual suspects (including people involved in a 'certain' very toxic linux distro) delete all nuance and start touting the same deeply insulting stereotype about kernel maintainers that you tiresomely hear over + over again.
"They're all horrible toxic megalomaniacal dickheads who won't change because they're too old [bit of ageism in there for fun] and stuck in their ways"
People who know nothing about the kernel love this as it fuels the typical us vs. them narrative that people get off on.
No greys, just black and white, shining knights on one side, awful dragon on the other.
And then it fades and quietens down and these same people go quiet.
And then, loop around...
If people would actually engage in a good faith, sensible discussion, listening to each other, we might make some progress.
I get less and less interested, frankly, in bothering to engage on these things because you know. It's not honest is it?

oh MATE lovely! I grew up in Exeter and have fond memories of Dartmoor.
Stunning, stunning place. And so... hard to describe. It has a vibe all its own that you only 'get' if you visit

thanks man and that's amazing! Obviously if you are still working on losing more keep it up, if you don't need to then happy days!
Yeah it's not easy/fun but motivated because I want a certain physique, and muscles are hidden by fat, so I just have to keep cutting until I get where I need to be before I can bulk + then the cycle continues :)
