Are there any instruments you simply can not stand? If so, what are they?
My list includes church organ, and oddly enough, ordinary snare drum.

Fame, money, accolades, and artistry do not make a person "special". They are still a person. Expect more from the people you glorify.
The art reflects the artist. All that separates them from their reflection is glass.

The music I made is based in hope, dreams, longing for a better world and the societal will to make it so. No sampling involved except the cult film quotes.

Sigh.
I made another car livery for Lily on Forza Horizon 6. This one is a dark, glittery Porsche that twinkles like the night sky. There is a white fox running on a rainbow, and night time clouds, stars, and crescent moon.
I miss her so much. Today was the first day I made it over 12 hours without losing it, and my face did not hurt from crying.
I put her collar on a doorknob of a closet I don't use much. It was time.

2026-09-03 15:11:33 UTC

Making a car livery in Forza Horizon 6 for Lily.
It is a pearl Limousine, Cadillac of couse. It has a blue lily, a running kitsune (she looked like one), and a pastel rainbow..
And now I am crying again.

2026-08-28 19:53:11 UTC

Sigh. We are 1 out of 3 or 4 in attempts at playing classical guitar accompaniment on taisho koto bass.
One piece can be played the way it was written, with some adaptation. The others all have these huge octave-sized jumps in consecutive notes.
I can do that going down scale, but not up. That creates open note problems when you take your finger off the key to reach upscale.
Merde.

2026-08-23 16:12:39 UTC

Who knew. A non-traditional approach and self-directed learning incrementally rarer and rarer instruments would lead me back to classical music and performing with a professional traditional musician.
Sigh. I enjoy it actually. But I know I am shitting down the necks of the purists.
Plugged in, doing it with no technique but bs and boldness. Lol

@nprofile…45lc ha. I was just looking at all the pictures you posted of them lately. Lol
This one is all guesses by the person who gave it to me because someone gave it to him also. It has been in very talented hands? But they did not care for it well it looks like. The person who gave it to me said he thought it was built from a kit.
But why the non-standard set of strings then? I suspect a true dulcimer lover built it to suit a creative need.

2026-08-22 01:54:16 UTC

Dusty beast is here!!
Needs servicing by a proper technician. Lucky to live in a town with a local shop that can help.
I ordered proper mallets, these pictured are for practice.
Very different than others I have seen. There is a chord section and a bass section I think? I don't understand the bottom 9 strings, tbh.
Instead of pairs, it has quads of strings?

Today was so rough. Detailed mixing help, troubleshooting VSTs. The problems I noticed were fixed, problems I did not notice were also fixed. Now... let us hope the client likes it.
We found out certain piano VSTs do not have mic placement options, but others do, and that was an assumption others made - that the piano they told me to use could be adjusted, but it could not, and it was the source of glitchy bs. So we got to change it, and solve several issues at once.
Much relieved!!

This is one of my older tracks, the visuals were created by a collaborator who was born in '83, but the title is 1980 because by golly, that's my birth year and I still think it was an auspicious year.
The track lends a determined vibe, and mildly danceable beat. Hope you enjoy, and apologies for the PSN branded bumpers. It was the format we had at the time.

Was reminded of something today.. it is a thing I don't have words to describe. The sentiment is... don't tell me who I am. Don't tell me what I'm not. Don't tell me I can't. Don't think I won't.

@nprofile…glz4 ::pretty jealous actually::
not long after i graduated they upgraded the system at the college studio to 5.1, pretty sure? i dunno. i never got to use it.
but i did always have a theory that the way i'd been able to mix (on a Playstation 4, ok?) was maybe a bit unique, and possibly the best "bang for the buck" too?
i know gearheads get real picky about their paid plugins and gear but.. >.> there's a lot of ways to get the same destination. :)

@nprofile…glz4 oh really? that's heckin awesome. my initial headphone/simple 2-speaker monitoring mixes were panned in an interesting way, spatially like in a circle that defined front and back, left and right, but also everything inbetween... so that's good to know it works on 5.1 too. i haven't heard it like that yet!

@nprofile…mxz5 that's a real beauty of a dog you got there, how much that set you back, a cool 10 grand? 20? how much? it could not have been more than 50K, surely. But those gold eyes.. maybe 65. (that's a real good dog, you can tell by the boopable snoot)

@nprofile…vvjp things fester either way. talking about it with someone who has expertise in healthy coping, conflict resolution, exercising one's agency, etc.. that's helpful.
if it means you talk about the problems more and that's irritating to him, maybe he isn't worried about the money, but the fact he has to be in touch with his emotions and sit in discomfort with you as you process.
if he had more respect for therapy, he might see how he could benefit in order to be a better support to you.
