Ok I see. Soon, I'll extract the in-browser relay as a standalone npm package. You will be able to use it like you want in your project 🙂 I'll also check for implementing negentropy. But remember that in-browser relays from nbox.space are for testing/building without deploy having to deploy a relay yourself on docker or wathever

2026-06-15 15:07:30 UTC

- reply

I can add negentropy in browser and hosted relay, yes, but I'm not sure to understand your need. This in-browser relay is mainly for developers/builders that want a local relay for testing. What did you have in mind exactly? What problem would this solve for you?

2026-06-14 16:57:52 UTC

🚀 Introducing Nbox.space, a toolkit for Nostr developers and builders.
The fun part: need a relay but don't feel like setting anything up? Just open a tab. A real Nostr relay runs right there in your browser. Live instantly, no server, no signup, reachable by any client through a tunnel. Great for testing and dev.
Nbox.space also gives you:
• forge: an event workbench — hand-craft any event, fire it at your relays, and see exactly how each one responds and what comes back
• hosted relays — spin up your own in seconds
• a relay tester — run a full conformance suite against any relay
…and more to come.

It should work with password manager that supports passkeys.
I didn’t know, passkeys on android are stored in google password manager by default.

My implementation is really basic. I use the passkey's signature as Input in HKDF. Not an expert, maybe it's a really bad idea?

Weird... Maybe @nprofile…dgp0 could help on this?

2025-06-22 13:12:24 UTC

- reply

That's currently the biggest problem with passkeys. A passkey is tied to a domain name. The only thing you can do is back up your mnemonic manually
If the domain name changes to another one, here's a solution: https://otpless.com/docs/knowledge-base/passkey/relateddomain
I hope a better solution will appears in the near future

Well, maybe it works by scanning the QR Code showed on desktop with your iPhone. Not sure about that 😅

2025-06-22 13:01:19 UTC

- reply

You should use a cloud-synced passkey provider. I know Apple and Google provide native cloud backup for passkeys, so you can use the same passkeys between your iPhone and Mac, for example.
But I'd prefer a strong password manager with passkey support, because Apple's passkeys won't work on your Windows/Linux computer...

- reply

Not a bad idea!

2025-06-22 12:36:18 UTC

- reply

It's neither your actual fingerprint nor a random key - it's more complex. When you create a passkey, your device generates a random private key and stores it in the secure element. Your biometric (fingerprint/face) is just the unlock mechanism for that key, not the key itself.
⚠ So if you delete and re-register a new passkey, you will not be able to restore your old private key!

2025-06-22 12:26:51 UTC

- reply

No, that's not how it works 😄 The private keys are generated using YOUR biometrics on YOUR specific device. You can't scan my face with your phone to access my wallet - the passkey is tied to my device's secure hardware, not just my face.

2025-06-22 12:16:37 UTC

Just built Passkey39: a library that generates the same crypto private key every time you use your Face ID or Touch ID. No more seed phrases to lose, your biometric authentication becomes your deterministic wallet key through WebAuthn magic.
What do you think? I'm curious if it's a good or bad idea 🤔

I don't know the context of your post, but of course mutex is useful in JS.
If you have an async function inside your function, you could need a mutex
Simple example is spend money, call this function 2 times in a short time and your user could spend money he doesn't have
async function spendMoney(amount) {
const balance = await getBalance()
if (balance > amount)
await spend(amount)
}

GM
The current version of https://bips.xyz (and https://nips.nostr.com) was made in just a few hours by reusing some code from the previous version.
I wanted to do it without a database to make it easy for anyone to host without constraints. I think that was a mistake.
I don’t really like this version, and I’m ashamed of it.
I will rebuild it from scratch soon.
🎯 What kind of features would you like to see in the next version?

- A better search engine
- The ability to easily add more specs, like @nprofile…6tzn's Cashu NUTs
- The ability to see previous versions of the specs

You could probably just forget versioning. If your profile is hosted on a webserver, like on .well-known page, you know it's the latest version. So if your profile is overwritten on some relays by a client, you still can rely on the .well-known version and publish this version.
Do I understand correctly?

I agree, the problem is real. Good spec!
I only disagree on the git part. It's too complicated for non tech people. Also, do I really want to rollback to a previous version? When I want to change something, I just update my profile

I will disallow basic filters in Ghost relay.
Example: You can't use this filter { kinds:[4] } without authors or tags.

Ok, it's an oauth2 login flow. When you "Login with Google/Apple/Github/..." it uses the protocol Oauth2.
Instead of having Google/Apple/... as source of identity, nostr can be this source of identity. It's "Login with Nostr" protocol for traditional websites (TIDAL could uses this for example)

2024-04-30 13:30:04 UTC

Should I revive zerologin.co?
It was an LNURL-Auth authentication server using a custom login flow.
I have had something new in mind for a few months and I've decided to share this on Nostr after reading this article https://hivemind.vc/identity/ from @npub18lz…ugm3
🎯 Adding Nostr as a source of identity using OAuth2 + OpenID Connect flow.
1- Service.com asks for login using OAuth2 with Google, Twitter, ..., Nostr (through Zerologin.co).
2 - User chooses Nostr, gets redirected to zerologin.co with an OAuth2 login flow.
3 - Instead of typing email + password (like using Google if not already connected), User can log in using Nostr (NIP-98, bunker, or any other methods).
4 - Zerologin redirects back to service.com with an authenticated token.
It's not for a Nostr app like Primal, Coracle, etc.
This service should be used by traditional services where accounts are managed by the service itself.
What do you think? Nostr as identity for traditional websites
Zerologin could also still be usable with LNURL-Auth with this Oauth2 flow.
