Hey [@FediTips@social.growyourown.services](https://neondystopia.world/@FediTips@social.growyourown.services ), I've been thinking lately about drawing up some documentation for folk to use on the Fediverse. @npub1rzc…kyw4 and I have noticed lately that there is a rather toxic culture surrounding #fediblock and have wanted to write some guides to help the users on instances curate their own experience on the Fediverse rather than relying solely on the moderation of their instance to do so.
We hope to supplement and improve existing moderation efforts rather than replace them entirely. It is our hope that by prompting a shift in the responsibility of curating content from instances to their users. Instance operators and their moderation won't feel compelled to act as an arbiter of philosophy by selecting which content may and may not be seen beyond the scope of generally agreed upon illegal or egregious content.
Instead, offering more user agency by providing the tooling, framework and guidance through which they can curtail undesirable content without sorting to suspending entire instances at the expense of the users on there that have done nothing wrong.
Would you be interested in promoting or boosting such efforts?

Please consider keeping sensitive information such as this behind a portal. Oauth can be used to allow verified users to authenticate through their fediverse account for access.
As things currently stand, the resource you've created with good intentions is currently fair game for Mossad to use in profiling.

Or, or here me out. Parents learn how to setup firewalls, DNS blackholes and access control lists on their routes and pressure is put on ISPs to make that more visible and accessible.

Silicon business is an expensive one and floss chips are just too much of a gamble for most to take.
There's also the fact that the fabrication of chips are only handled by, what. A handful of companies? Intel have some places in the United States, Israel and Mexico while the rest comes from Tawian, China and Japan.

I don't think Risc-V will get to the point where it'll end up as performant as cisc. If it does, then it'll probably be locked down by copyright and patents as a copyleft style licence for hardware would be economic suicide.

I've feeling that age verification laws are going to end up getting proven unconstitutional in a supreme court eventually.
You can't mandate that an entire country provide identification that places them at risk to exposure of tracking and profiling.

Might be time to check and see whether we're on any curated blocklists if enough people end up providing the same reason.
So far it seems to just be a couple of well connected servers issuing advisories to their neighbors.

I eventually gave up arguing. The next step would have been to ask them how the EU plan on implementing their age verification so that I could start poking holes. Realized later on that it would have been a futile effort and just never got back to it.

What part of that is a conspiracy? Would have made sense to instead provide a government funded framework for parents providing them with both the tools and knowledge to parent properly and protect their children rather than requiring every adult to effectively dox themselves on the internet.
They went for the latter, why?
