We had provincial elections in Quebec yesterday. The party who locked us down, enforced curfews and vaccine passports years ago went from a majority government to having ZERO seats in the parliament.
They're GONE! 🥳

I'm glad it failed miserably because if it had significant support, we'd be stuck in the same kind of civil war that we had in 2017.
The market clearly doesn't care this time.

They also locked me out of Twitter two years ago when I exposed war crimes of the Zionist entity. I have to delete two tweets to regain access. I don't know what the second tweet is because I'd have to delete the first one to see.
I simply uninstalled the app. Fuck them.

One lesser known fact about the Quran is that every recitation / reading (AKA qirā2āt) used today is faithful to the Uthmatic script (consonantal skeleton) which goes back to the first generation of Muslims.
Some issues with the Uthmanic script:
- It didn't represent short vowels.
- It only had 15 letters to represent 28 consonant phonemes.
Although every reading technically is a copy of the Uthmanic script, the short vowels and some consonants differ. To me, it is evidence that before making the writing more phonetic, the early Muslims were mostly relying on the text to preserve the Quran. They were not relying on recitation as much as tradition holds.
Some say the differences are only dialectal but dialects don't work that way. They don't magically only change some vowels and consonants that just so happen to have been ambiguous in an old writing system.
That creates some differences in meanings too. For instance, it isn't clear if one has to wash their feet or simply wipe them when doing the ablutions. It depends which reading you are reading and how you interpret a short vowel at the end of a word.
This is why the Sunni wash their feet but the Shia only wipe them.

> even told a farmer the wrong information about crops to prove people shouldn’t blindly follow his words as a man but to use Quran and YOURSELF to find the way
You can even tell that from the “translations” of the Quran:
> 66:1
>
> O Prophet! Why do you prohibit ˹yourself˺ from what Allah has made lawful to you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
A more accurate translation would say:
> O Prophet! Why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful to you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
The difference in meaning is huge.
تُحَرِّمُ (tu7arrimu) means to make haram. It's legal language. He didn't just “prohibit” himself like someone would abstain himself from peanut butter because his wife is allergic.
“And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
A mistake was made.
You can tell from the verses that come after that it was a big mistake.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Allah revealed this verse without specifying exactly what the prophet had prohibited. It could have survived in a hadith where the prophet prohibited something that Allah had allowed.
It doesn't matter if the hadith is authentic because it could be what this verse refers to.
The way that I see it, the prophet is not a legislator. He is a judge and Allah is the legislator.

It seems to me the current state of affairs in the ummah is the result of Western imperialism who intentionally put puppets in charge of Muslim-majority countries and made sure they followed the sect that is the most divisive towards Muslims but also the greediest and most likely to sign deals with the devil.
They're also the ones who argue against using reason and will tell you to “listen to the scholars ” even if the scholars may themselves be misguided.

I really like that verse. I'm glad you shared it.
The word that is translated as “rabbis” is أَحْبَارَهُمْ /a7bārahum/ and it has a larger meaning that just “rabbis”. I also interpret it as scholars or people who read and write Scriptures.
It has cognates in other Semitic languages and can definitely mean any of those.
I was unable to find the word in pre-Islamic Arabic Poetry but it isn't surprising that a people who couldn't read or write wouldn't talk about those who read and write in their poetry.
أَحْبَار
/a7bār/
Root: ح-ب-ر
(7-b-r)

I've asked many Muslims about the arctic circle because the Sun doesn't set at the beginning of summer and doesn't rise in winter.
Many of them never thought about it. It was something that I thought about a lot before converting.
This happens in the North of many countries:
Canada, Iceland, Denmark (Greenland), Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia
