Today, I received yet another 6-page demand letter from lawyers representing Curaleaf and Boris Jordan. This is the 3rd such letter. Like the others, it is marked "on the record but not for publication."

Introducing The Newsground, an investigative journalism outlet funded by your morning cup of coffee.
Instead of hiding stories behind paywalls or relying on the whims of a billionaire, the reporting is funded by the sale of premium coffee.
Coffee and news have always gone hand in hand. The Newsground brings that tradition into the modern era. To make this work, I partnered with a Chicago roaster.
The project is still in its pre-launch phase, but it will be live this month: thenewsground.com

I plan on using PeerTube for videos. Have to be on WordPress for a specific plugin related to something I can't change.

Friends! I'm launching my own news outlet with an entirely new business model.
Investigative journalism that actually makes an impact. No billionaire overlords, no paywalls, no venture capital. Come sign up and see what I'm building. https://thenewsground.com

10% of Gaza has been killed or injured. The scale of Israel's genocide is haunting. I'm not sure how the international order recovers from this.

The files we need to see are the Epstein Suspicious Activity Reports. That is the whole ballgame. Follow the money. Who paid him, and who did he pay? That's everything!

There are now more U.S. troops + federalized law enforcement deployed to the streets of Los Angeles than in Iraq and Syria combined.

2025-06-09 00:36:54 UTC

Let the record show that the anti ICE protests were far less destructive or widespread than when the Lakers win a championship. The militarized federal law enforcement response is unquestionably what led to these escalations. The timeline of events proves it.

D.A.R.E. but for billionaires addicted to powerful hallucinogens.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has deleted from its website its 2020 report on Russian interference in the 2016 election and Russian cooperation with the Trump campaign. It was by far the most comprehensive document detailing the Russian intelligence operations of 2016. The report was accessible as recently as May 10.

The next 12-24 months will likely be a period of rapid privatization of parts of the government. The oligarchs (Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, Ellison, Thiel, Kraft) will be handed sweetheart deals to control parts of the ex-government. They will offshore their wealth.

2025-02-21 00:39:04 UTC

Media conglomerates that are not already controlled by the oligarchs will be captured and internal dissent will be snuffed out.

State security services will investigate and charge those who oppose the President, creating false pretenses that circumvent normal processes to ensure long prison sentences.

2025-02-21 00:38:52 UTC

Political dissent will be crushed, sometimes with violence. Politicians who oppose the President in private will bend to his will in public for fear of being physically attacked or worse.

The oligarchs will continue to amass wealth and power. They will, with the blessing and oversight of the President, co-opt state institutions and steal from the working class.

Today, the U.S. looks nearly identical to Russia of the 1990s. Here's what that means going forward:

2025-02-04 00:19:42 UTC

-Musk has regular calls with Putin and his aide who operates Russia's online interference efforts.
-He then seizes control of the Presidency.
-He breaks into Treasury and publicly states that he is looking into Ukraine related payments.
Tell me where this ends.

USAID is one of those things that Russia and China have been obsessed with because it is largely the best of American humanitarianism and a pillar of what keeps America strong and prosperous. It is relatively unknown to Americans because it isn’t controversial for either party. Why is it that the minute Elon gets into power he targets this agency? Who does he really answer to?

2025-02-01 21:30:20 UTC

Make no mistake, the United States became an autocracy this week. The FBI massacre, the elimination of USAID, the attempted end of birthright citizenship. This is the Orban plan, and it is being enacted at an unimaginable pace. Fight back.

Rachel Maddow's salary is $25 million. Imagine instead if MSNBC hired 250 well-paid investigative journalists instead.

2025-01-11 04:35:00 UTC

The whole concept of private donations to Presidential Inaugurations is outrageous. It is quite literally just a pay to play scheme.

The LA fires are shaping up to be a catastrophic, historic event. My heart hurts to see a city I love so much in this much chaos and danger.

Deeply fascinated by the drone story in New Jersey and find media coverage to be lacking. If these are real drones, it's a national security issue. If it is mass hysteria, there's an equally interesting story!

I’m not talking about Ukraine I’m talking about Victor Bout. You believe arms traffickers should be promoted as geopolitical analysts?

No matter all the bullshit I always thought the country generally boiled down to a) the rule of law and b) voting for people to represent our views on society in DC. Can you say with a straight face that both of those things are not totally corrupted by the very wealthy? It's a tough look in the mirror.

The country looks more and more like a mega-corporation. The process of self-governance to me feels like it's completely gone. Truly unfathomable amounts of money have corrupted these foundational ideals. Man...

I haven't seen this expressed anywhere so maybe I'm alone in this. But, I'm having a hard time squaring the ideals of the country with what it looks like today. Truly all of society's power is in the hands of so few.

2024-11-23 23:46:05 UTC

I kinda don't recognize America anymore. It's a feeling that I hold outside of what happened with the election, etc.

NatSec community needs to rip the band aid off. Decoupling from Musk will be hard but necessary. You can’t have one of the U.S. biggest defense contractors secretly negotiating with Putin. You have to draw a line somewhere.

2024-10-25 02:12:46 UTC

Musk/Russia is the culmination of 3 elections with Russian collusion with one political operation with no real consequences.

2024-09-08 22:19:17 UTC

There is one political party DEFENDING and WELCOMING Vladimir Putin’s intervention and interference in our sacred political processes.

2024-08-23 19:08:54 UTC

RFK Jr. pushing deep Russian propaganda, including that the U.S. overthrew Yanukovych in 2014 and that NATO forced Putin to invade Ukraine. Insane.
