Day 5: There is something about scaffolds which always make me think about the web standards work, be for new things or for maintenance. Today is the SVG WG meeting which I will be chairing for your own misery. We will go through the summary of work for the last year, and going through recent issues. There are a bunch. https://github.com/w3c/svgwg/issues/1157#issuecomment-6493744296 #w3ctpac

Today the @nprofile…cutx has published a new version of the SVG2 Candidate Recommendation.
* CR is at https://www.w3.org/TR/2026/CR-SVG2-20261006/
* Editor's draft (freshest version) https://w3c.github.io/svgwg/svg2-draft/
* Spec Issues https://github.com/w3c/svgwg/issues/
The SVG Working Group is actively trying to remove the paper cuts and have something which is interoperable. There are many parts of the spec which are not fully tested in WPT. One step at a time, we are improving it.
If you see implementation bugs, issues with the spec, missing tests, do not hesitate to report them. It will help a lot.

Apart Gecko, WebKit, Blink, Inkscape, Krita, Ladybird, Servo, …
Do you know OPENSOURCE implementations of SVG? Even partial. Let me know. Opensource because I want to be able to assess what has been implemented.
It helps when I work on SVG 2 draft.

newsPAPERs (paper is the operative word here) don't get hammered by LLM bots. They are more resilient for archiving. CDs/DVDs in magazines too. I wonder if physically distributed instead of online (like really removing online) could become a better economic proposition again for these institutions. 🤣 Just a thinking experiment.

Maybe social networks should rename the "favorite" star as "Acknowledgment of receipt" or "Mark as read". Because most of the time, it seems it's how people use it.
