this only gets worse when you consider the fact that hardware hasn't really been improving beyond cranking the power up to eek out more performance
at some point the only way forward will be to clean up our act and write good code

Imagine walking up to someone 15 years ago and going
:neocat: "Hey, in the future Google will just flat out make shit up sometimes"
$[flip.x :neofox:] "What"
:neocat: "Yeah, like there will be a time where you can search for a movie that doesn't exist, and it'll show you trailers, articles discussing it, who's directing it, interviews from the actors, and all of it will just be completely fake and presented as real"
$[flip.x :neofox:] "What the hell are you talking about"
:neocat_googly_woozy: "Yeah and it won't just be Google either, Microsoft and other big companies will be touting it as a revolution worth billions of dollars, as their products make shit up on the spot thousands of times a day"
$[flip.x :neofox:] "Dude, are you high"
:neocat_googly_shocked: "Entire product lines will be rebranded around their lightning fast make-shit-up technology, and they'll even try to sell this making shit up as a creativity tool for writers and artists"
$[flip.x :neofox:] "Get the fuck away from me, I'm calling the police"

Truly what we need is a device that can heat milk evenly and automatically without burning it
I propose we build one out of a chopped up kettle, an electric mixer and a bedside alarm clock

One thing that kinda annoys me about Misskey et al. is that reaction emojis from different servers aren't combined together at all
Like, surely if the name of the emoji is the same, and the hash of the image is the same, then it's probably safe to assume the two are identical, no?
But instead you get posts that have the exact same neocat reaction from 15 different servers copied 15 times over

I have acquired a scan of a Japanese light novel through "means" and I wanna turn it into an epub, both for my own reading and for the hell of it
Does anyone know any good local OCR software that lets me just chuck a shitload of page scans at it and get a txt file of the results? Even if the output txt is badly formatted, that's fine, I'll need to clean it up and organise it manually anyway
Please and thank you :neocat_book:

Is there an editor for SVG or should I just use the PNG version?
