Word Of The Day - Friday 23 October 2026 from Cedar Key, FL with the love of Jesus.
8 "For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living." (Romans 14:8-9 NKJV)
Oh Lord God, my most holy and kind Heavenly Father ~ Help all faithful Christians return to serving Christ as our most rewarding and noble manner for us to live out whatever days we have remaining on this planet earth. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

“Cry out and shout for joy, O citizens of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel acts mightily among you!” Isaiah 12.6 NETB.
As the book of Isaiah closes the first major section, the prophet envisions future glory for Israel in restoration. God is present and active to bless and restore the remnant, who sing praises of gratitude to God and invite one another to join in the worship. The citizens of Zion here represent the people of God in the Messianic age.

“THE PRAYER HINGE Matthew 7:7-14
We read about “ask,” “seek,” “knock,” and the definite results. It sounds beautiful, easy, thus far. But there are always conditions. We all want results. And he wants us to have the results. That is why he tells us so plainly how to live so that our prayers will get and find and open. The prayer hinges on the life. The life hinges on obedience. Obedience hinges on a set purpose and his grace.”

Sometimes when we bring a burden to God, we do so much groaning over it that it seems as though God is having a dreadful time, too. In reality it does not burden Him at all. God says in effect, "It is a light thing for Me to do this for you." Our load, though heavy for us, is not heavy for Him. Christ carries the whole on one shoulder, not two shoulders. The government of the world is upon His shoulder, and He is not struggling and groaning with it. His mighty arm is able to carry all our burdens. There is power in Christ for our sanctification. Yes, the Lord can sanctify, the Lord can heal, the Lord can do anything. You must have faith in God. ─A. B. Simpson, with Bible text on Psalm 55.22

A Bible Devotion wrote the following post Wed, 08 Jul 2026 22:00:00 -0700Do You Believe In Love?#^Do You Believe In Love?
MATTHEW 5:44 NKJ 44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
Most people believe in force: guns and armies.
Most people believe in money: "financial power."
Many people believe in education, that "If we just educate people enough we can change the world."
Hardly anyone seems to believe in the power of love to change things. No one seems to think it would do any good to "turn the other cheek."
Jesus didn't tell us to "turn the other cheek" just so we could get beat up more. Jesus believes in the power of love. Jesus believes that evil can be overcome with good.
ROMANS 12:20-21 NKJ 20 Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
God still believes in the power of love. He believes that if you love enough, and for long enough, people will finally come to their senses and respond to that love.
JOHN 13:34-35 NIV 34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Jesus said the mark of His believers would be their love. Where did we go wrong?
SAY THIS: Lord, help me to believe in love, and to act in love.
A Very Fine teaching here.

“Nathanael heard about Jesus. He might have just stayed where he was, and “listened on.” How many of us just “listen on”! But merely listening about Jesus keeps him waiting. When we start toward him, he sees us coming, and speaks to us just where he finds us. And he never fails to satisfy the heart. Then we know it is really he; for no mere man ever really meets and satisfies us just where we know we are.”

From J.R. Miller at #^https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/47/evening :
O God, who has taught us in Your holy word to cast our burdens upon You, promising that we shall be sustained — we come to You this evening with our burdens. You have given them to us; they are Your gifts. We know, therefore, that there must be a blessing wrapped up in every one of them, something good sent from You to us. Help us to accept our burdens, and to get Your gifts from them. Let us not repine nor murmur under them, and thus miss the blessing that You have sent to us.
You have not promised to take our burdens away from us, for this would be depriving us of blessings which You have specially prepared for us in Your love. But You have promised to sustain us, to give us strength to bear the burden. Our prayer, then, is that You would give us grace to accept whatever burdens You have laid upon us, to take up whatever crosses You put upon our shoulders, and to bear them after our Savior, with quiet trust.

The Bent-Knee Time - Devotional: May 19th
SELFISHNESS IS SUICIDAL - Mark 12:1-12
The Jews rejected Jesus, the Son of God and their own and the world’s rightful King. And so they rejected their opportunity to be the world’s first nation. “They left him”; utterly, severely, they left him. And so he was forced to leave them. That’s always the order. If ever God leaves a man it is only long after the man has left God. Sin is suicidal. Selfishness nails its own coffin. Rejection of Jesus is self-rejection.

The following prayer is a highly adapted text from one found on the web, with a lot of additional thoughts:
Heavenly Father, thank you for allowing me to open up my heart to You.
You deserve praise because I can tell You everything that troubles and worries me.
You know what I think, how I feel, what tempts me, what I want to accomplish today and tomorrow.
You know and care about everything that happens in my life.
You are shaping and preparing me to live with You forever.
You are disciplining me to be holy, which will allow me to live in Your holy presence.
Teach me to live in the knowledge that You will care for me today, will care for me tomorrow and all the days of my life.
You never fail those who trust in You, so I will trust You also. Lord, I believe -- help me in my failure to believe.
Jesus is Lord and Savior, and all my hope. Amen.

But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or crisis. — 1 Kgs 5:4 BSB
This period of peace in Solomon’s reign was part of the preparation for building the temple. Times of quiet in our lives shouldn’t be times of idleness. There’s always other work to do. These are our seasons for “temple-building.” ─J.R. Miller
What season is it for you?

Some time back I set out to write my story, recollections of life. Wasn't a pleasant task, other than recounting God's good grace toward me. It soon got set aside, and now I can't recall the document name, nor does a search turn it up. Must not have been an idea approved of by the Sovereign.

@OCTADE Tremendous, thanks!
I use several, and most throw in their studies, articles, and theologies. And ads, of course. A few avoid this. Also, I use a number of Brazilian versions, so my options are more limited. I have to jump from one app to the other.
This goes beyond my original lamentation, of course. Just sharing frustrations.
I am grateful for many a good soul who does good work voluntarily, wanting no return.

Impressive to be able to follow some amazing people. And sometimes even interact with some, a few are nice, humble folk.

There's no need to punish yourself for slipping out of focus. Simply make the choice to restore that focus.
Take advantage of the "compellling energy" of distractions. Like that!
