I got a Nova Cubics fixed circular needle, and my big takeaway is that the needle part is too short. I can't do 4" needles. And they don't make 5" in the fixed. I will have to order a 5" Nova Cubics interchangeable from Europe because I can't find any US sellers who sell that exact SKU

You know, I don't care if Mitch is dead. That's one R seat in the Senate that can't vote on anything. We should be in no rush to turn that back into a voting seat.

So I decided to just skip the face moisturizer (just cleanser and serum) and now I don't feel like there's goop I need to clean off. Prose has 2 lighter moisturizer bases, so I've switched the formula to the middle one.

2026-09-04 01:17:07 UTC

I think skin care might be self perpetuating cycle. Clean my face, put stuff on it. Now my face has stuff on it so I need to clean my face.
If I did nothing, I wouldn't feel like I needed to clean my face.

Very funny to see MapQuest be the hero of the moment. Their data is wildly out of date and they don't even have basic account management. But if they can manage to catch the zeitgeist, they might turn themselves into a real product.
I have already submitted like 30 data corrections in the small area around my apartment.

Phase 2 completed! The pastry cream turned out very gummy, but I added more warm milk and it got creamy again. I really thought it was ruined at the butter stage because it was just blobs of cream swimming in butter, but it did eventually blend in.
I am now unsure if I should use it as is or whip it into butter to make mousselline cream. Maybe one layer of each!

I have tried twice to make a cake using these Boston Cooking School recipes, and it has turned out badly twice. The frosting is 100% a disaster, and the filling turned out worse the second time.
So I think I will just assemble my own recipes.
https://www.hummingbirdhigh.com/2021/07/my-best-yellow-cake-with-chocolate-frosting-recipe.html#recipe for the cake
https://www.thespruceeats.com/brown-sugar-frosting-3057718 for the frosting

But now I need people to eat the failure cake first to make space.

And yet because you can tell they were expensive, it's also hard to just throw away. But what else can you do with something you have no space for.

Saw #MastersOfTheUniverse.
I am not sure I can describe watching that movie.
It's not good. But it's funny? Specifically, campy in a way not many movies are.
It's aware of the He-man is gay meme, and almost every joke is sexual.
It's Everything is Gender and Everyone is 12: The Movie, but that's the butt of the joke. I don't think Pete Hegseth would find it affirming, even though I don't think he could understand why because hot muscled white man wins battle.

I had a partially done scarf in moss & seed stitch with a nice bulky variegated yarn that I frogged this morning. The combination of texture and colors wasn't really working. I only have 2 balls of this because it was a closeout sale. I'm going to try a different pattern and see if that's any better.
I just don't want to waste the yarn. It did teach me that I like seed stitch though. Fun to do.

He did not shy away from criticizing the state police for their violence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zL8DoIa3Ek

2026-06-02 01:52:43 UTC

I am working on the last repeat of the green section of the mourning shawl.
And I worked out the plan for the next project, starting with a swatch, which I haven't actually done yet for a project. And writing out the whole pattern instead of having to flip between pages of the pdf.

2026-05-31 04:18:00 UTC

I'm not sure why Sherrill thinks having the state police boot on our necks is better than ICE's boot. She seems to think the staties won't kill anyone.
Maybe that's true.
But I don't think people care who owns the boot, and she's making enemies in the process.
