@npub10ta…sw7k Steven Pinker made a good case (Better Angles of our Nature or Enlightenment now, I forget) that compared to historic levels it is super low. https://stevenpinker.com/files/pinker/files/has_the_decline_of_violence_reversed_since_the_better_angels_of_our_nature_was_written_2017.pdf

@npub10ta…sw7k that Marsden Brewhouse looks pretty good with kids playground too. Should we make a new post, link the regulars and start seeing what dates work?

@npub10ta…sw7k for singles night I was more thinking have some single friends over for dinner with the family, kids are in bed by 730, then grownup hang out time after. It sounds silly but I feel some duty to help the declining birthrate (my wife and I are unable to have more kids) and I wish my single friends were blessed with kids.

@npub10ta…sw7k I was thinking family dinner with the kids. See that its not so bad after all, maybe they would want a family/kids of their own...

@npub10ta…sw7k Ive got so many single friends who are perfectly dateable drives me nuts, especially the women in their 30s who are running out of reproductive time. Ive become that guy at social events telling them to get their act together. I was saying to my wife the other day that we should start hosting singles nights.

@npub10ta…sw7k Yeah but maybe that is a cherrypicked anecdote. Chicken or the egg? Did your friend swing and then become sexually confused or did he swing because he was already sexually confused.

@npub10ta…sw7k I think it certainly desensitizes viewers who are then tempted to look for more and more extreme stuff. Not sure if that is gay stuff in particular I know a few gay guys and they were that way at least from thier teenage years. Then again I know one or two guys that won't gay later in life after they had families. Idk

@npub10ta…sw7k meh, my heuristic for movies these days is to listen to 'the critical drinker' on youtube, so I know most stuff sucks and I save time and energy not watching it.
