Oh, wait. I can't insult Dukat like that. He, at least, had some intelligence.

2026-05-10 17:41:44 UTC

We're all Kira trapped in a room with a Dukat that won't shut the fuck up.

@nprofile…rs0f After when Damar just stands in front of Kira, there's that beat and then he walks away. Brilliant.

@nprofile…h3fj oh God yes. Vasquez Rocks. There's like a thousand episodes of Trek that were filmed there.

Give Shaxx that Akuma insta kill move. He turns his back to the player and the Bajoran emblem burns into view on his backside.

A video game idea:
A Star Trek fighter in the style of Rival Schools. The school is Starfleet Academy.
Example: You choose Crusher and Worf as your fighters. If you're playing as Worf you can do a temporary summon where Crusher gives you a health boost.

I'm not saying that any of these episodes are good. Here me out: a bad episode to me, is an episode that is not entertaining. It can be a little dumb (or really dumb) if it's keeping an ok story together.
Threshold: yes, the science is jank. yes, the premise is dumb. yes, salamander babies.
But dudes, this episode is entertaining. Mutations, super warp, Paris really wants a pizza. Duncan turning all Brendle-fly is the best.
Tuvix: an episode that's given Trek nerds some fun and not so fun conversations. this one gets a pass.
Spock's Brain: so dumb, it's brilliant. the pacing isn't bad and there are a bunch of great moments. Spock being controlled by remote control, Scotty fainting to fake out the bad guys, those goofy pain belts the Enterprise crew wears. I love it.
Also: "Brain and brain! What is brain!"
Dear Doctor: ok. yeah, that ending... woof. That one really needed a do-over. Everything else is so solid though. Billingsley already has Phlox on lock.

Anyone else feel like the vast majority of top 10 worst Star Trek episodes lists are... what's the best way to put this... wrong?

I watched "Badda-Bing Badda-Bang" a few days ago and @nprofile…52xd made an observation I can't stop thinking about.
When waitress Ezri goes into the counting room, she's holding a tray with a cocktail.
That tray is secretly Odo.
Huh.
So, Ezri has super strength we didn't know about? 😜
Not only does Odo change his shape, size and density, but he can change his weight.
What? How? Where the fudge does all that goo go?!?

I really dig this movie but I wish Krall's/Edison's reveal was much sooner.
Uhura and Sulu could have discovered it at the half way point when they snuck out of jail.

I highly recommend picking up the Prodigy Blu-ray if you're going to watch the show.
Not only will you have your own copy BUT the Netflix streaming episodes (which will be leaving soon) have some distracting act breaks.
Examples:
"A Moral Star" - When the Unwanted reclaim the Rev-10, (I think that's what it's called) they go to warp. The music swells and the ship zips away. Cut to black. Immediate silence! Huh?
The score doesn't get to echo off the walls of the hall. The warp sound sounds truncated. It's jarring.
"Cracked Mirror" - The Protostar crew traps mirror Janeway and her security officers in cetacean ops. The crew runs down the underwater corridor while mirror Janeway yells at her own crew. Her line, sound effects and the score do this odd fade out before the cut to black. It kills the energy and it's way noticable.
---
As far as I can remember, the Blu-ray has slightly different breaks.
#prodigyseason3 #huh, the show that's in the safe comfort of TOS is sticking around? what a surprise

TMP question: Was there ever an explanation to why engaging warp drive within our solar system was a no no?

I like when Drednok goes into battle mode. When he skitters around, I think they cut out frames. It gives off this classic stop motion feel - that creepy jank that comes along with that type of animation.
