rogue europlus 🤖 :autisminf:

I collect Apple ][ europluses and host WOzFest, single day gatherings of Apple ][ enthusiasts, five times a year.

I run the Applesauce Fluxes image bot here – it's amazing how we can find beauty in just about anything.

I am on the spectrum and learning how to manage my life better than I did when I didn't know I was.

I lean heavily left/progressive.

I love my past Bichoodles (Poochons) – Poppy, Lily (RIP) and Daisy (RIP) 💗

I wish people were more like dogs – or I just wish there were more dogs.

My fellow Australians…
Has anyone else received this MyGov message in the last 24 hours?
A friend got it last night, and me this morning.

@nprofile…q6qh I’m in several related open WhatsApp groups and “investment WhatsApp group” spammers are a recurring problem, and we ask laugh how they *all* claim there are “no spam messages allowed” in their groups.
We sometimes consider doing a reverse raid to talk about electrification, solar, batteries and EVs in Sydney apartment block incessantly in their groups.

@nprofile…gu7x what does this even mean:

Given I hate this movie, Prof D, *and* AI so much, gotta admit I’m pretty proud of this one.
Where do I pick up my Academy Award?

I just made a small (US$25, what I could afford) donation to the NTP Project.
I can’t claim this as a tax deduction here in Aus, but I have probably relied on NTP for 30 years or more so I don’t have to worry about clock setting on _so many_ devices – and it’s been a part of macOS (and their other OSes) for decades now.
If you can, I encourage you to donate as well to this critical infrastructure project –it’s shameful the “big guys” (I’m looking at you for a start, Apple) don’t spot them a few grand each at least.

Just a reminder that the original Myst was developed using HyperCard, one of Bill Atkinson’s many masterpieces.
But I’ll always remember how he thought overlapping windows (or perhaps the smooth movement of windows over each other) was a solveable problem because he recalled seeing that Xerox had solved it (they hadn’t), so he just worked it out because he then thought it could be.
An amazing mind, now lost to us.
RIP Bill, and thank you!

@nprofile…59dk @nprofile…hh8l I think the head might be misaligned, or maybe its rotational speed has drifted too far. You might also try a head cleaner disk, there seems to be a spot of dirt in there.

I have no idea why I keep getting calls from “Sydney Car Removals”.
I don’t remove cars, I drive them. And usually only one at a time.
I’m truly living in an age of wonder in Bizarro World.
PS If you need to have a car removed, I happen to know a guy..

#GlobalTalk Connection League…Assemble!
Wondering if anyone else is not seeing @nprofile…qkwt’s Print to PDF printers from any machines?
I can see it on my AIR machine in 7.1.1, but not in a virtual machine using 9.2.2. This is consistent on both the LaserWriter drivers and Who’s There on each machine.
Trying to find where the routing is falling over.
If I can get an AppleTalk-using Mac OS X emulated system up, that’s next on my list.

Well, it would appear I have a very good reason for feeling so crap yesterday and today.
Second bout of COVID 😢 Hope it doesn’t knock me around as much as first bout did. I’ve actually been more isolated than I usually am, but obviously picked it up Sunday night or Tuesday when I ducked out for short periods.
Making a crappy situation even crappier.
