I don’t know if you Americans are following closely what’s happening with Bolsonaro, but your president has aided someone to enter the country on an a cancelled passport, granted them a humanitarian visa and is assisting him as he attempts a coup on the democratically elected president of Brasil
This is very serious - war level serious - and it baffles me you’re saying you’ll deal with it on the midterms, you should be going to the streets and trying to stop it from happening.

Alright I got tickets to You Can See Everything this weekend, but I'm already a big Nathan Fielder fangirl. I think he's a Canadian Treasure, must be protected at all costs, and I would recommend people to watch The Rehearsal S2 (it's self contained, you don't need S1) without knowing anything about it. Watch everything. I promise you have absolutely no idea where the show is going at the end.
So my expectation about the movie is: I have no idea! #cinema #youcanseeeverything #movies

A good thing would be to make uber drivers aware that they're gonna be essentially unemployed in 1-1.5 years if Ontario gets their way. What do they hate more - bikes, or unemployment?

You may say it's a conspiracy theory but Waymo is arriving in Toronto and we have this master plan to dismantle our bike lanes happening at the same time
Waymo has issues with San Francisco bike lanes https://futurism.com/future-society/waymo-bike-lanes-traffic
We start removing our bike lanes in #toronto the same day Waymo puts their first cars in the streets for testing (plan to rollout by 2028)
Yes I am suspicious AF #waymo #ontario #biketooter #onpoli

I tried to get an update about what’s going on with the Brazilian presidential elections and like
The right hates Lula because (they can’t really explain)
Meanwhile the right wing candidate is the son of the ex president who’s in jail for an attempted coup, and is involved in a bribery scandal with a banker, that also involves the banker hosting an orgy at a nightclub then going to church the next morning
The right wing candidate can win.
Alright, that’s Brazil yeah.

Oh I have a solution - a solution they're not interested in doing.
Get off your Facebook, go to the streets and protest but like the French do. Do that every day, until change happens.
Yes that's hard and painful. But I thought you wanted to know the solution.

I think it's so rich that Americans feel us, Canadians, are not entitled to express our feelings and thoughts regarding the infinite amount of bullying and betrayal we've been subjected to by 75 millions of Americans over the last couple of years, just because a few of you don't do that. "Not all Americans"
Let me remind you of something: no other country in the world is doing that to us. So yes we're entitled to it. Clean your own room before you complain about our feelings.

Things I'd love in products as a human who uses products:
- BUTTONS that react to me pushing them, instead touch sensing things
- PANELS that show relevant information like is this thing on or off, why is it suddenly not elegant to display the status
- MANUAL OVERRIDES yes 80s sci fi taught us that is important
- NO WI FI OR APP for anything that should not be online, like a refrigerator

If you are from #toronto and have ever wondered “I would have loved to learn ballet but maybe I’m too old now” - maybe you aren’t. The National Ballet of Canada, at Queens Quay and Spadina, has absolute beginner lessons for adults. It’s a wonderful space and community, safe and welcoming.
It’s my favourite place in Toronto and I’m glad that fucking airport won’t disturb it. I have been taking lessons there forever, I’m terrible, I love it!

Hey good morning and GOOD NEWS everyone! At least for now!
No airport expansion! The fouetées are safe! #toronto #onpoli

2026-07-24 14:39:09 UTC

I was in front of the ballet studio yesterday, and I heard a plane landing at Billy Bishop. It's not too loud but it's audible.
With the airport expansion, all those fancy harbourfront condos with glass windows will have a huge, massive noise problem, possibly vibration causing windows to crack. The NBC will also have to work on their noise insulation so they can rehearse because imagine focusing on your fouetées and a jet landing RIGHT IN FRONT of the studio.
#toronto #onpoli

2026-07-12 13:33:33 UTC

- reply

Everything you like about Billy Bishop is because it’s not a main airport.
If it becomes a large airport all of the nice things you enjoy about it (and I do too) will go away.
It’s the highway expansion illusion. “Build another lane” - then more traffic happens.

A reminder that everyone has an accent. Everyone. Just sometimes the person speaking to you has an accent different from yours and that you’re not familiar with.

2026-05-31 19:05:13 UTC

Some youtube creators have this behaviour that hits some racist tones to me - whenever they talk to someone in English and the person speaks with an accent that is not like theirs, usually a non-native speaker, they add subtitles.
You either subtitle everyone or subtitle no one, but subtitling specific people is just… bad.
And I never have any trouble with their accents so it’s even worse.

I have said this before:
A lot of journalists, influencers, etc have a problem with fedi because they don’t bother understanding the format
They’re used to platforms that work like this:
- share hot take
- receive likes
The fedi works differently:
- Engage with the community
- Connect with like minded folks regularly so they see you as a peer
- Eventually share your hot take
- Get responses
- Interact
And there you have it. That’s how you make friends instead of just followers.

Ultra competitive behaviours, in a corporate setting, scream insecurity and lack of emotional regulation.
However, we have spent the last century rewarding ultra competitive people with leadership positions and given them a ridiculous amount of power.
Unsurprisingly, we get authoritarian bully regimes as a result.
Stop rewarding unregulated insecure people with leadership positions and promote empathetic, self assured leaders.
