There are two theories of prosperity and of well-being: The first theory is that if we make the rich richer, somehow they will let a part of their prosperity trickle down to the rest of us. The second theory — and I suppose this goes back to the days of Noah […] was the theory that if we make the average of mankind comfortable and secure, their prosperity will rise upward, just as yeast rises up, through the ranks.

Alarmed by the obvious failure of democracy, many middle-class people decided that the country needed a strong government. Under Brüning they were in chaos. President Hindenburg dismissed Brüning in 1932. Franz von Papen became Chancellor.

@nprofile…s4x9 interesting. Does Yunohost have a way to configure external SMTP through UI or cli? Or it expects the VPS to be configure for that outside of Yuno's "responsibilities"?

Does anyone know if #yunohost requires port 25 to be open for it to work? Like if you would install Friendica or GoToSocial and want admin mails/notification to be sent from the system?
@nprofile…87tr Do you know?

If you're comfortable with French I can recommend this reading of the Magnifica Humanitas that #pontifex published a short while ago.

I updated the URL and the poster to use #plus1 for hashtag instead of #plusOne.

Trying to think of additional ways of getting this message across. i was shocked to find out last week the #pontifex #papaleoXIV is using X.com 😱, yet he is not in the Fediverse 😢 . It was really very sad to learn that. I wish one could e-mail the vatican and tell them about the plus1 principle.

So what's the story with #penpot ?
It seems too good to simply be open source (I love it). But I noticed they have a share to X button in their community (user) forum, which got me riled up and anxious. Is it owned by evil-doers? Crypt0 folks? By Musks 30 wifes?

@nprofile…4vza @nprofile…q3y5 I found the app just two days ago and I love how it suddenly makes #friendica a feasible project from my point of view. 💖 💥 💯
I'm scratching my head how to make Friendica groups an alternative to FB groups. It's sorely needed in my community(ies) where every's using FB groups.
I have some suggestions I would like to make. Like the "profile view" for a group should default to "classic view" and post and replies, to be useful.

@nprofile…5rsp the levels of corruption and insider trading in the US would probably have any investment hard to make profitable over the longer term.
Unless you ride the day-trading (insider trading) fever pitch cycles. But I advice against that, unless you actually are an insider.
Predictably, stability, rule of law. That's a good investment environment. Don't see much of that these days
