Obligatory Steam Next Fest announcement.
For about two decades I had a dream of making and releasing a game. I'm a skilled programmer, but I can't draw, I can't make music and ideas do not come easily to me. It seemed an impossible dream. And yet, here I am. A 5-year project of pure passion and ambition is DONE. Soon, people all over the world will spend a few bucks and be entertained for a couple of hours. I originally started out posting plenty of regular dev updates. With a few exceptions, no one seemed to care. Very few thumbs up, no comments. It felt like talking to myself. So I stopped. Every now and then, someone will then make a forum post claiming the game is abandoned, based on the lack of updates 🤦 Unless you have a large existing following, there's no way to win that "game" IMO 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I'm dumb, but I fail to see how that is an advantage over an autoloaded signal bus. It really doesn't get any easier than that and is super easy to manage and maintain (if you know what you're doing).

I finished the "you won the game" screen for Factory Magnate. Quite fun, and again, super super fast to do with #godot. All in all I think I spent 4 hours on it. So happy I jumped from libGDX a few years ago. That screen would have taken me several days to code up from scratch, likely a full week.
(No screenshot because I don't want to spoil anything.)

Haven't done #screenshotsaturday for a while. This is a casual factory builder game I've been working on for 4 years. I should have known about the "Make factory builder game" button in the pre built #godotengine
Why didn't I just press that and save 4 years?!

I'm pretty good with UI and pretty bad with art. So I have this idea lingering in my head that my next game should be entirely UI or at least super UI heavy. Two game types come to mind: Idle/Incremental game and manager type game (typically sports related). Honestly not too excited about any of them. What would you pick if you had to?
