@nprofile…r6tf - @nprofile…0a0c is supporting extreme right groups in Europe. I wouln't consider this company "Fediverse/Open" or "Democratic". @nprofile…850x is a much... much better option for VPN.

@nprofile…lslt - it's indeed cheaper than the Dropbox I have now, but it's a big bummer that - although it's "Nextcloud" - we cannot use all the nextcloud facilitated apps like the Onlyoffice suite, etc... That's why I'm not really convinced about moving to Hetzner.

@nprofile…lslt @nprofile…tcrw - The first thing I already want to note about both graphics systems is that they are not available in Linux.
I think European software companies should be aware that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux in recent months (for some well-known reasons, LOL).
The reasoning why many people have not yet switched is precisely the scarcity of professional software.
Fortunately, I still have my old Windows laptop, on which I can still run Win applications, but would rather avoid that.

@nprofile…lslt @nprofile…tcrw - Whaw !!! Never heard of it. Will try it out for sure.
At this moment I'm testing Affinity graphic suite from the UK. It's also a great suite.

@nprofile…4kmp / @nprofile…lslt - Don't we have to start thinking about promoting or changing our positioning systems from... GPS to GALILEO, because... like the US did during several wars in the past, they switched off the complete GPS system.
If Europe wants to be more independent, this is one of the things we take have a closer look to.
In the end, Galileo is especialy developed for consumer usage and it is very accurate.

@nprofile…lslt - Is this a hidden way of "publicity" on Mastodon? I don't like this way of explicit "promotion". Smells fishy.

@nprofile…lslt - I have Threema, I paid for it, but I'm all alone. Nobody of my friends/family is on Threema, so it's a dead app for me right now.
The problem is that Threema is a paid app and everybody is so used to use message services for free.

@nprofile…lslt - To many websites are bringing the same content: "EU alternatives". I understand people want to get involved and take action, but there's also the danger of an information tsunami that it will scare people off.
By the way... I'm starting to be a little bit carefull because there are not only "good" people on Mastodon. I can imagine that people "from the other side of humanity" are sneaking "fake news/information" or "seeds of doubts" into some (EU) discussions.
BE AWARE, dear collegues.

@nprofile…lslt - Lemmy was so complicated that I gave up. UI must be more idiot proof (like for myself)
