And whenever I can’t find said hammer, I remember the sage words of *my* old sysadmin, Dmitry, whenever I asked him if he had a hammer:
“Everything is hammer.”

As a #sysadmin I think it is probably a strange thing that I am the only person in this building, besides maintenance, who has a hammer in my toolbox.
It is a thing that is rarely needed, but when it is needed, boy is it ever needed.

I use macOS at work, which I really don’t mind (please don’t throw tomatoes,) but I really wish it did tiling more than what most desktop environments do which is sort of as an afterthought with limited features and a lot of slow mouse controls.
I installed an app that makes tiling automatic and I have tried to set up keyboard shortcuts to mimic Sway as much as possible because it is a headfuck using one UI all day at work and getting home and shifting gears into a different workflow for the same actions.
I was hoping I would find something that was like “makes macOS act like dwm/sway/i3” but I guess there aren’t enough people on macOS who are crazy enough to want a real tiling interface 🙃

1) that is rad
2) I love dwm better than any other window manager
3) I felt like we are supposed to move on to Wayland so I switched to Sway, but I really just want dwm, still :/

#introduction
Hello,
I am a #sysadmin looking to keep up to date with new stuff going on in tech, both in the professional industry and hobby, #selfhosting #selfhosted arena.
If it’s tech I’m probably interested in it, but specifically I am messing with #meshcore these days and trying to self-host a #discord alternative. I love #linux and #unix and nerd out over the history of both.
