Yes, that is my point. Spookybot said that AI is not going to stay forever, but it is, just not the way it is now.

A tech bubble just like "smart" appliances that we still have today? They just switched from marketing everything as "smart" to everything having "AI". It is here to stay, just not in this current form. I am not saying there is no economic bubble. It definitely looks like a bubble, tho i am no economist and some economists do say it's not, so who knows...?

It is not a bubble like that. AI can be powerful and it's here to stay forever as far as humans go. Don't conflate useless AI in your apps with all AI. AI in sciences is pretty much a necessity. Plus, you can't impede people from using LLMs, so either you let them use the garbage american ChatGPT, or you give them an AI that actually respects copyright.

I love it when i commit watching a show only to get a transphobic episode, making all the time i've spent so far on the show all wasted.
Don't watch Suburgatory, it makes fun of a transgender woman, calling her a man over and over again. Deleting the whole thing now.

Last thing you know, Visa &co pull out from GoG and the players get angry. It just feels like a marketing tactic, tbey have no more power than Steam or the other websites that got affected by this.

Is there a list of banking apps that work? Perhaps a list maintained by the community. I can't just hope for the app to work, it's important.

A lot of people insist on using Windows cos that's what they know and where they find their apps. Some companies like Lenovo are selling Linux laptops but considering it's only a few models, it makes me think they don't sell as well as Windows laptops, which merely proves that people insist on Windows. Business-wide, yes, it's a different story.

The PC reason is due to the fact that people want specifically Windows. An Android fork would replace Android perfectly well that people wouldn't mind.

Is it really that small? Many companies switched to Linux on desktops instead of upgrading Windows to avoid paying for the licenses. Many companies try to avoid paying even the smallest fees if they can. So no, i disagree.

The appeal of a FOSS Android fork would be that there's no need to pay anything. So even large companies might use the FOSS fork rather than a closed source Android. I think Google is doing a terrible mistake, even for themselves.

What a lot of projects miss, is asking for donations in a straightforward way. There's nothing wrong with popping a small message once in a whole asking for a donation! And asking for donations only before download can be easy to forget.

I tend to be turned off by paid-only apps, and look for free alternatives. On the other side, paying for an app that is free somewhere ( legally, duh ), i am ok with that. I bought Krita on Steam, for instance. But i hope some apps will not become paid-only on Flatpak because that would push me not to use Flatpak. I ain't gonna pay an app that i never used before.
