My friend @npub1xr8…w3fz's new book on Platform Engineering is out on Kindle/Apple Books, and arriving shortly in print as well. Her last book very meaningfully improved engineering management across our industry, more so than any other book I can think of in the past 20 years. Her new one is required reading and will bring the same sort of outcome. Congrats, Camille! https://www.amazon.com/Platform-Engineering-Technical-Product-Leaders/dp/1098153642/ https://books.apple.com/us/book/platform-engineering/id6736664948

“Businesses up and down [NYC’s] Columbus Avenue say the Sunday car-free open streets has been a boon—despite what car drivers believe.
“The program, which closes the avenue to cars…every Sunday in the summer and fall, has increased local businesses' sales, a variety of businesses told Streetsblog, citing better foot traffic and the fact that locals tend to linger (and spend) more when a street is pleasant to be on.”
Maybe we should, you know, learn from this.

Every day is a good day to ride up the Bay Bridge. (Wish the Bay Bridge Path went all the way to San Francisco, rather than stopping halfway. But that half trip is great!) #BayBridge #EastBay #BikeTooter

East Bay folks: If you want to practice putting a bike on an AC Transit bus bike rack, ACT now has a practice rack at their headquarters in downtown Oakland (1600 Franklin St.). It's much less stressful to do this your first time when you aren't holding anyone up as you try it out! #EastBay #ACTransit

I have never agreed with Cheney once
We have fought on like 75 different fronts
But when all said and all is done
Cheney has beliefs; Trump has none.
(Well, I’ll be dammed…)

seriously. I wish they had gone back as soon as he was off-trail. And not left him alone.

this really got me: “became disoriented when he found that the group had picked up the belongings being used as trail markers as they hiked down before him” ‼️‼️‼️
