“The prospect of one of the world’s wealthiest countries taking the natural resources of an impoverished country like Venezuela will cause immediate political consequences for the Rodriguez government..
The obvious risk is that Venezuelans will see this as the raping of their resources and will rise up and riot. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that this is a very corrupt deal and completely against the will of the people. These are their natural resources.”

“The Iran war is the latest example of a pattern stretching from the Falklands War in 1982 to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. When a nuclear-armed state’s survival is not at stake, its nuclear arsenal provides remarkably little leverage to compel an adversary’s submission. Three wars involving nuclear powers across more than four decades point to the same conclusion: nuclear weapons may constrain escalation, but they rarely determine political outcomes.”

“The US Justice Department is prosecuting an American for allegedly providing authorities with a passcode that wiped the contents of his phone.
The case centers on a feature included in GrapheneOS, a custom Android operating system that runs in place of the software on most modern Google Pixel devices.

@nprofile…hqna that's how our political system is designed to work.
“my mind goes back to those periodic fits of public rage in which the people rouse up and tear down the political leader, first of one party and then of the other party.
It makes no difference what name you give. The ruler isn't any man authorized by the Constitution or by the law.
They call the system—I don’t coin the phrase, I adopt it because it carries its own meaning—invisible government.”

They are all in favor of the war in Iran, the war against Russia, NATO, and the stock market because they are funded by the same people. The result is that America is isolating itself from the rest of the world....ending the American-centered world order. @nprofile…6k9q he was a moderate when elected, but the difference between Pezeshkian & the IRGC or Khamenei is purely rhetorical at this point. He speaks more diplomatically, but most of Pezeshkian's letter was pointing out past & present aggressions against Iran by the United States & concludes with "Iran has outlasted many aggressors. All that remains of them are tarnished names in history, while Iran endures."

“In 2011, President Barack Obama decided to begin what would become a monthslong military campaign to oust Qaddafi.
The intervention got off to a dramatic start when U.S. Tomahawks pounded Libya’s air defenses...Within a few short days, Qaddafi’s military was flattened.
Many U.S. leaders expected the regime to collapse under pressure. Instead, stalemate set in.....Weeks soon turned to months.
A similar pattern is now playing out in Iran.”

@nprofile…d3qt AFAIK, there's no reporting that the drones were ever destined for Ukraine. Just that they came from Europe to Myanmar via India. The Ukrainians, I would assume, were brought in by our regime change expert to train the "rebels" on those drones.

“India’s national media reported the arrest of U.S. mercenary Matthew VanDyke and six Ukrainians for illegally crossing the border into neighboring Myanmar to provide military training to armed groups fighting Myanmar’s central government.
Indian security services have also linked the suspects to 'importing huge consignments of drones' for 'ethnic armed groups,' matching the established pattern of U.S. proxy war waged around the globe throughout the 21st century.”

“The US is able to do this because in post-occupation Iraq their oil revenue is held in US dollars at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, right where the US can easily get at it or restrict its transfer to the Iraqis whenever the mood suits them.
[For instance,] In 2020 after the assassination of Qassem Suleimani, Iraq threatened to expel US forces from Iraq in protest, and President Trump at the time threatened to seize their oil revenue in retaliation if they did.”

“This isn't paranoia. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it himself, that social media is 'the most important weapon … to secure our base in the U.S.' and TikTok was 'the most important purchase going on right now,' with its control 'consequential.'
No doubt the Ellisons and Hillary Clinton feel the same way today.”

“In other words, the study aims to withhold Hep B vaccinations from 7,000 infants so that western researchers could compare their long-term health to babies that got the vaccine.
'This is another Tuskegee,' one CDC official told Inside Medicine. 'We are allowing children, infants, to be exposed to Hepatitis B when we could prevent it, and then follow them for five years to see what happens'.”

@nprofile…6k9q Iran definitely has problems –which are being exacerbated by sanctions & malicious actors. Right of the bat, Mossad admitted they have people on the streets backing the protesters:

And former Secretary of State & CIA director, Mike Pompeo, confirmed this:

@nprofile…r4e5 that's most people. That's why there's places like TRAC who take to time to extract available data from agency systems & file FOIA requests to get actual data on deportations

@nprofile…d3nc pretty sure Plato never said that. Plato advocated for philosopher‐kings to rule over society, saying that “there will be no end to the troubles of states… humanity itself, till philosophers become kings in the world… and political power and philosophy thus come into the same hands.”

@nprofile…d3nc that's a sepeeate issue. The author of this is Rand Paul & he's talking about the Republican party.

“Who would have predicted a time when Congress would be so feckless as to simply and obediently abandon all pretense of responsibility and any semblance of duty so as to cede the war power so completely to the President?
It’s as if a magical dust of soma has descended through the ventilation ducts of the Congressional office buildings.
Vague faces, permanent smiles and obedient applause indicate the degree that the majority party has lost its grip and become eunuchs..”
