Joseph Simons 🍁 🌱

I like to bike around town all year round.
Planet first, society second, economy servant of us all—not our master.

Cube: includes '60s me helping my father load milk cans at our dairy farm.
Header: North Saskatchewan river flowing through #Edmonton, #Canada 🇨🇦

About me...: I worry about pollution, urban and farming sprawl, what we eat and how corps control us, democratic slide, and why our votes don't count. I bike around town and get a thrill from pruning my fruit trees.

Sure, but if it's dry, I think it'll function quite well. I have had a freezer out in the garage too for 15 years, and I'm sure the specs wouldn't allow that. Life's a gamble... 🧐

Even at -40 your garage will probably not get below -30. Mine doesn't, and it's detached too.

A #GeneralStrike is gaining momentum and spreading across the #USA; it has essentially shut down #Minnesota businesses today.

Genius: only a two kilometer walk to the #LRT for anyone without a car using the new #Stollery. Was there no site on the LRT line for a public building that'll be there a hundred years?

So why is anyone still using FB? Shame on him and on us. While many of us no longer travel at all, or at least feel squeamish when we have to...
"In just 9 months, Mark Zuckerberg has cruised in his superyacht so much that the $300 million vessel has burned 2 million liters of diesel and spewed 5,300 tons of CO₂." All for a few touristy brushes with the remote, fragile, and beautiful, and bro parties.

"Value-per-acre analysis is powerful because it reveals what raw numbers often miss: how efficiently #land contributes to a community’s #financial #health. It doesn’t tell #cities what to build or where to build it. But it helps communities see which investments generate lasting #value, and which ones may quietly drain #resources over time."
