Raise your hand if software you have written in the past year has restored multiple atmosphere accounts via adversarial migrations that would otherwise be lost to the void.

What do y'all suggest for client side error monitoring?
Like catching exceptions that happen client side in JS, etc. Ideally anonymous, not super intrusive, on the cheaper side. Not worried about analytics. I would just like to know when errors happen and catch them so I can fix em 🐮

I've flip flopped on "should we explain atproto/PDSs to new users" and landed on "nah."
No one knew how much of our digital lives would end up on a single platform when we first signed up for Facebook.
At least with atproto they can figure it out later and migrate or branch out.

New Gatekeeper update! If you are updating to the new ref PDS version 0.4.5036 you will want to get this update as well, if not and you have 2FA turned on via Gatekeeper may not be able to login with password sessions.
If you are a larger PDS operator running gatekeeper may check the PR notes

If you have watchtower enable most PDSs auto update at midnight, will want to run docker compose pull or pull the :latest docker image on how you have it setup
Also if you are just using PDS Gatekeeper only for 2FA on a small PDS can just remove it and the endpoint proxies and return on 2FA in app

I was very surprised to learn that you cannot use Go with godot, and that it was not written in Go

I am so happy to introduce everyone to my fiancé [@pds.mom@bsky.brid.gy](https://bsky.brid.gy/ap/did:plc:ai3awpxeactr5ojgaqjoiqv6 ). She is going to use her page to post her crafting and sewing projects!
And thank you @npub10vh…kvt5 for a wonderful early wedding gift of the domain name!

I decided to make use of some older hardware I had lying around to run some atproto infra. Meet wafflehouse.dev!
- constellation.wafflehouse.dev, a @microcosm.blue@bsky.brid.gy constellation instance
- slingshot.wafflehouse.dev, a microcosm slingshot instance
- plc.wafflehouse.dev, a read only PLC mirror

@npub1kkq…el49 you still looking for a PLC export hookup? I have the plc-replica DB compressed on a S3 bucket if you wanted to try it out. It's updated till yesterday

I wish I could go back in time and warn myself in October that my atproto addiction would lead to the need for terabytes of nvme storage and to buy it while it was cheap

#wwdc seems like a good time to remind everyone I have an iOS app that allows you to do atproto actions via shortcuts 👀.
It's an easy way to do some no code automation with iOS shortcuts to learn more about atprotocol

Anyone I know has had success with Kotlin Multiplatform 👀
Going dig more, but curious if so. Big needs are
- support for background activities
- secure store for secrets
- preferably does not break every ios release, or at least a good track record on resolving those

Decided to take the weekend and give Go a proper go. So I built a simple little website that backfills/listens for community.lexicon.calendar lexicons and creates an ics link for any events for you to RSVP to! Never miss another [smokesignal.events](https://smokesignal.events ) or [atmo.rsvp](https://atmo.rsvp ) event again with [whenslunch.app](https://whenslunch.app )

Happy to say this user has fully recovered their identity!!!
1. Got the private multikey from the key file in the actor’s folder of the previous PDS
2. Used it to sign serviceAuth tokens to the entryway to get the PLC updated
Probably the coolest atproto identity recovery I’ve been a part of

I think next Saturday I am going stream on [stream.place](https://stream.place ) building an atproto app from scratch.
It will be "On This Day" type thing that shows you your posts from that day over the last few years and lets you repost if you want to. Super simple using atcute and a single index.html

2026-04-17 19:58:48 UTC

Another day, another odd edge case migration thing to troubleshoot.
Looks like the entryway updates the user's PLC did doc if on a Bluesky PDS, and it does this by a serviceAuth token. If you migrated back, but did not update your verification method when you moved, you can lock yourself out..

2026-04-16 17:42:54 UTC

"Why could I not access Bluesky even though I am not on a Bluesky PDS?" 🧵
Bluesky is made up of a lot of different parts that work together to show this post to you, with the PDS being just one part of that.
You can think of Bluesky PBC, the company, similar to a public utility company.

2026-04-16 13:52:19 UTC

I don't think I've made a post about it yet, but I've been helping out the Eurosky team behind the scenes a bit for the past couple of months. Mostly on the PDS side of things, like removing the need for invite codes and other odds & ends.

Hey y'all! One of the things I took from #AtmosphereConf was that there's still a hole to fill to make it easier for users to back up their identities and that something like a mobile app may do that. So if you're interested, please take a bit of time to answer the questions to help shape that app.

Lots of bot accounts are out and about today being created on independent PDSs. I thought I would share some of the tooling I've created to help with that
PDS Gatekeeper allows you to turn on a captcha for account creation/migration. Does not stop them all, but helps.

I still have quite a few TODOs to do on some projects, and I really don't need another iron in the fire. But I think this summer I may write one of these two when freed some.
- A PDS entryway that will support any PDS that followed the ref patterns for it.
- A PDS MOOver mobile app
