I've been on sick leave for more than two years now and not a single c̶o̶l̶l̶e̶a̶g̶u̶e̶ coworker has reached out to me in any way.

I arrived at season 7 of »Taskmaster« and while many of the UK comedians on the show have been weird before, I feel like no one in this particular group of contestants is sober. 😂

@nprofile…kksy Nope, hence the suggestion to use hashtag searches in a (single) tab. Would basically be a list of "followed" hashtags then, but not combined with certain users.
(You can, of course, follow hashtags on your home TL, but based on the context, I reckon that you want them separately for good reasons.)

In the end he was like: "🤨 Huh, you're right, many of them are ambiguous. You really can't think about any of them for too long. 😅"
In the end, I passed the exam with the maximum of errors allowed because I'm bad at not thinking about things. 😬

My current relationship with social networks is ... complicated. I'll forever be grateful that they introduced me to my wife, though. Which is the only relationship in my life that's not at all complicated. :)
Today marks our 11th wedding anniversary. Originally, we had some bigger plans for the 10th last year that didn't happen because ... health. Which is also the reason that today's anniversary is probably the least celebratory it's ever been.
But in the end, that's what marriage is about, right? Together through good times and bad.

I never wanted kids, but occasionally I think that I would've been a great parent. That I would nail the assignment of supporting and forming another human's life.
And then there are days where I realise that this might be true, but that my "told you so" urges are so strong that I'd also be friggin annoying. 😂

Both teams of my football club won today and I wish I had the emotional capacity to be happy about it, but I've been in a numb stretch for a while now. Plus, today has been a "severely tired" day to begin with.

Given that the US is generally more libertarian and more suspicious of their own executive branch than most other western countries, I'm a bit surprised that the reaction to the impending TikTok geoblock isn't just: "Well, my VPN is running anyways, might as well set it to France now."
Also that they'd rather download yet another Chinese app rather than just a VPN app.

With 2024, the fifth year of a constant downhill trajectory comes to a close. It'll be the fifth time in a row to look back at the worst year.
The last four times, there was always hope for a better year to come around. Specific reasons to be hopeful. This time, though, the only reasons I can imagine feel like magical or at least very wishful thinking.
Consequently, I'm not hopeful for the year ahead, let alone excited. In fact, it doesn't even feel like a new year. There's already more paperwork, more health stuff, more diagnostics, more appointments and more phone calls waiting that have only been briefly paused by "holidays".
So the goal for next year is to stop the decline. Again. And to accept that this hole could always be deeper.

Last day at home for some time, possibly this year.
I'll try to make the best of it, but it's hard to be optimistic about staying in a clinic. Especially since official guidelines say that I shouldn't be there and the medical director told me that they (most likely) won't be able to help me. 🫠
At least my fight from a few months ago to get into a nearby facility will pay off tomorrow. Getting there in an hour instead of four is huge.

@nprofile…8ewh Even an accurate poll wouldn't (necessarily) have reflected the prevalence of alt-texts.
Example: 9 of 10 people use alt-text but the tenth is a bot that posts hourly images. 😄 If the others post one image per day on average that would be 24/(24+9) ≈ 73% images without alt-text even though 90% of users use them.

People often times talk about the features they wait for on Mastodon. And rightfully so. But I really appreciate all the features that are (somewhat) unique to the platform. CWs are fantastic and so is the feature to turn off boosts.
On other platforms, I sometimes start following people I enjoy reading, just to find out that they pump out ten or more reposts per hour, basically filling my timeline singlehandedly. 😄

It took way too long, but I finally remembered to buy a watermelon when I ordered groceries.
