complete agreement. It was an ultimately selfish foolish move that deserved the backlash. But that the backlash will hurt both the environment and the most marginalized people in our society is just devastating.

The electorate is *really* good at cutting of their nose to spite their face.
I don't know if the Conservatives will be able to continue repudiating the social conservatism that threw their party into the disarray that Eby was trying to exploit. I fear for our environment and our marginalized populations.

As near as I can tell the goal is send enough states' electoral votes through the Supreme Six's fuckery that the election can be decided by the court.

And we Canadians will not ignore the continued bullshit, and now don't even need counter-tariffs to totally tank US imports.
Yes, we're petty, and this is a generational mess to clean up.
40% of your voted for him, and 60% of you have somehow failed to constrain him. Learn to government?

I mean, there's things to reproach Carney - pipelines and petrol infrastructure, endangered species legislation bypass, etc. But selling out Canada doesn't appear to be on the agenda.

The press has been trying hard to make a narrative of Carney selling out. The press has been dead wrong all along. What Carney doesn't do is negotiate in public which the press absolutely loathes.

Oh heavens, we've known this pretty much since the first stupid tariffs. But it's essential, even when negotiating with asshats, to negotiate in good faith and to respect terms and appropriate restraint. That behaviour is what makes all our new trade and security agreements possible.
But also, don't let the bully get away with his his bullshit. Walk away at the right moment.

Do I know anyone in Barcelona who could help a friend release her phone from the lost objects office at the airport? She's unable to find someone to pick it up, package it, and mail it.

Now, now. You're assuming it's a reasonably built server instead of a random pile of python API calls strung togther willy-nilly into some pandas dataframe hell that loads a 1TB parquet file for each connection.

This is your regular reminder that LLMs don't answer your question "X" but rather the closely related question "What might an answer to X look like?".
Sometimes this might be useful, but there is no way it can tell if it's answer is at all correct.

Potatoes are in. Rest of garden is ready for planting. Peas and radishes in the morning. I'm tuckered out.
I need to get some onion sets in there as well. Next trip to town.

Where was your friend mistreated like that? I don't want to patronize such a shop; I do use our local outfitters and would hate to be innadvertently supporting that kind of biggot.

For no particular reason:
The market cap of a company is the number of shares in the market times the last price someone paid. This significantly overestimates the value.
Is there a word for the net amount that has been paid for the stock? Effectively the market cap minus the unrealized gains. Is this a better indicator of the value?
